Iblees....

7:13. (Allah) said, “Descend from your rank, for this rank is not for arrogance and feeling superior over others! Go! Indeed, you have debased yourself.”
14. (Iblis) said, “Reprieve me until the Day they are resurrected (after death).”
15. (Allah) said, “Indeed you are of those reprieved.”
16. (Iblis) said, “Because You have led me astray, I shall most certainly sit on Your straight path (sirat al-mustaqim) to prevent them.”
17. “Then I will come to them from before them and from behind them and on their right and on their left  And You will find most of them as ungrateful to You.

In 7:13 Iblees said i will sit on your straight path.
That means..... 
1. Iblees knows exactly what is straight path.
2. If someone is on crooked path S/he will not meet Iblees.
3. You have to cross Iblees on the straight path.
4. One of the sign that you are on straight path is meeting with Iblees.

Interesting but wouldn't it be reasonable to say that although Iblis will wait for people on the straight path, this doesn't mean that he doesn't meet others too. There are many who have sold their souls to him and they were not on the straight path in the first place. Think of many of the Musicians/Actors for example who these days seem to be proud that they sold their souls to Iblis and that is the reason for their success. What do you think?

In fact every Iblis knows what is straight path. In other words, Iblis is everything who stops people from the straight path.

Someone's becoming on crooked path itself is an evidence that he/she somewhere has met with him and have accepted his obedience.

There is no fixed place for Iblis which can be assumed as we have crossed him. This whole limited worldly life is to be journeyed on sirat al mustaqeem and Iblis can misguide us anywhere, even just before our death.

Sirat al Mustaqeem itself is a sign. 

صراط الذين انعمت عليهم

The only sign of sirat al mustaqeem is out following Allah's choosen ones guided ones i.e., Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) & Ahlul Bayt (عليه السلام).

Everyone meet with Iblis every day and night. Some meet him as friend and some meet him as an enemy. His meeting alone is not the sign of sirat al mustaqeem.

If one has strayed from the straight path then sheitan has already gained impact to ones life and will keep impacting more and more until person turns towards Alllah.
