So a frequent claim by other shia sects and sunnis like sunnah discourse is that the companions of Imam Jafar as lived in Iraq while the Imam lived in medina, so that means they never met him and frequently lied about him and attributed falsehood to him.

Does anybody care to refute this argument?

Thank you brother for the quick response however this still doesn't clear up some of my doubts

Imam Jafar as is the imam most narrated from for our madhab if all the people that narrate from him lived in Iraq than how do we have so many narrations from him? I would appreciate if you or a brother/sister learned in this specific matter could give a more detailed answer.

May Allah bless you

It is also added that Imam jafar As Sadiq (عليه السلام). chose yathrib / Medina for his great school where about 4000 students were studying, They belonged to different cities of Arab and Persian world.

The religious institute established in the Mosque of Kufa was the greatest of all those institutes. For it was attended by the nine hundred religious scholars from among those who were graduated from the school of Imam al-Sadiq. For this reason, the scientific movement vastly widened to the extent that it included all the Islamic regions.

Many knowledgeable families in Kufa studied sciences under Imam al-Sadiq, and then they became famous for jurisprudence and hadith such as the family of Hayyan al-Taghlubi, the family of A'yun, Banu 'Attiya, the family of Banu Darrajj, and other than them.25 These families honored Imam al-Sadiq when he resided in Kufa for two years during the days of al-Saffah.

This is a bit of a strange issue. The Imam had the means to teach Shia fiqh and theology at large, but infact it seems that this was not the case, which is why you'll find stuff like Malikis praying with their hands down but having very open food laws vs Hanafi seafood laws but praying with crossed arms, I'm just giving an example here, but you see what I mean? I don't get why this wasn't the case however and there are many disparaging views, amongst the sunnis who could have learnt the correct way, the reason why I cited the Maliki and Hanafi example is because of the case of their leaders studying under Imam Jafar al Sadiq..

Hi he was teaching Islam based on level of understanding & intellect of any student not as a rigid system of teaching of Hawzas or universities also he has taught many noble shia students but their name is a a favorite subject for others than Shias except that they find something for criticizing Shias likewise story of Zurarah but on the other hand Hanafi & Maliki leaders have developed their creed based on their interpretation after leaving school of Imam but at least they have learnt fundementals of religion likewise beleiving to oneness of Allah from the best source .
