What foods did the prophet like?

What was the prophet’s favorite meat?
Concise answer
The prophet would usually eat from anything that was halal, without restricting himself. Meat was his favorite food. Out of the different cuts of meat, he liked the foreshank the most. Out of condiments, he liked vinegar and olives. He also liked dates and honey very much, and out of all the fruits, pomegranates, melons and grapes were his favorites.

Quote

His most favorite food was meat, and out of its different cuts, the foreshank was his favorite. He considered the hindshank to be makruh because of its proximity to the urinal organ.[1]

He would also eat chicken and wild animals and hunted birds, but he himself wouldn’t hunt.

He would have his cucumbers with dates, and his watermelon with melons, sometimes with sugar, and sometimes even with dates.

Quote

He would eat unsifted whole wheat bread and never had wheat bread, and never filled himself with whole wheat bread either.

The prophet also liked squash; there was a type of squash by the name of ‘Dabaa’ that he liked, and he would also eat cheese. When ‘Rutab’ (fresh dates) season would coincide with his fast, he would break his fast only with ‘Rutab’ and would feed the seeds of the dates to the sheep. His diet was mostly made up of water and dates. He would also have milk and dates and porridge (halim), and liked dates and honey very much.

Hadith 4556 quotes Kafi and Nahj al-Balaghah: Asim ibn Ziad left the world and his brother complained to the Imam about him. The Imam said: Bring him to me. When he was brought; The Imam said to him: Were you not ashamed of your wife and children ?! Didn't your heart burn for your children ?! Do you think that Allah, who has made clean foods lawful for you, hates your eating  ?!
Asim said to the Imam: Then why do not you eat from these lawful foods ?!
The Imam replied: Allah has made it obligatory on the just Imams to place themselves like the weak people.
In the same ninth volume, p. 348 onwards; Twenty-six hadiths have been quoted from various sources, in which the food of Imam Ali (عليه السلام) is introduced as barley bread; Salt ; Oil ; Date ; Mushroom and vinegar .

Hazrat Sajjad Zayn al-Abedin quotes his noble father Aba Abdullah Al-Hussein (عليه السلام)  said:

One day my brother Hassan Mojtaba (عليه السلام) fell ill; And when his illness was relieved, he went to our  ancestor , the Messenger of God (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) who was sitting in the mosque, and threw himself on his chest and the Prophet embraced him and said: what you like to eat?

My brother said: I want melon.

Gabriel (عليه السلام) who was in the presence of the Prophet has flied; And after a short moments have passed, he returned, having gathered a corner of his shirt. And there were two melons ,pomegrants , pears and apples.

Seeing those fruits, the Prophet of Allah smiled and said:

Praise be to Allah, who has made you like the blessed children of Israel, and to you will be sent the blessings of Allah and the fruits of Paradise.

Then Gabriel (عليه السلام) handed over the fruits to Imam Hassan Mojtaba (عليه السلام) and said: Take these fruits home; Eat with your grandfather ,father, your mother, and your brother .

Hazrat Mojtaba (عليه السلام)has  brought the fruits home; And we used to eat some of them every day, but it did not end until the Messenger of God passed away; And it was over after we tasted the melon , it ran out.

And when Hazrat Fatemeh Zahra (sa) passed away, the pomegranate also ran out; And as soon as Amir al-mu'minin Ali (عليه السلام) passed away, the pear ran out.

Then Imam Hussein (عليه السلام) added:

And when my brother was spending the last days of his life, I was sitting on the bed of my brother Imam Hassan Mojtaba (عليه السلام) when one of the two apples ran out; And finally another apple - which was the last fruit of heaven - remained for me.
