Hiring someone for Qadha Prayers

Can someone please tell me the base of this ruling? This is from Agha Sistani.

Ruling 1520. Based on obligatory precaution, a person who has a legitimate excuse [for performing prayers in a certain way] – for example, he performs prayers with tayammum or in a sitting position – cannot be hired in any case to perform the prayers of a deceased person, even if the prayers of the deceased became qaḍāʾ in the same way. However, hiring someone who performs prayers with jabīrah wuḍūʾ or with jabīrah ghusl is not a problem, and the same applies to hiring someone whose hands or feet have been amputated, although to suffice with the acts he performs on behalf of the person is problematic [i.e. based on obligatory precaution, one must not suffice with the acts he performs].

Salaam, i still dont get how/why it counts if someone performs someone elses prayer for them. I thought prayer was for the individuals benefit/spiritual ascension, so how does that work if someone else does it for them?

Same especially if there is a form of payment. Could someone post a hadith that states it is ok to pay someone to do your qadha prayers/fasts? Gives me the same vibes as the Catholic Church's indulgences in the Middle Ages (paying the Church to have your sins erased).

It is only for deceased persons who themselves cannot complete the tally of their missed prayers after their deaths. This is a blessing and a great mercy of Allah that even after death, he allows a way for the missed prayers to be completed through a third party. I think this also highlights the immense importance of prayer - that the count of prayers needs to be completed.

It also is a way to give reward to the person who is reading the prayer, the person who is paying for it and the deceased individual for whom the prayer is being read, if Allah accepts.

But at the end of the day, it is Allah who decides which worship is worthy of any reward and which deserves to be thrown back to our faces.

Another point is that if the deceased person did not give any importance to prayer and was not bothered about it, then there is no need to get his prayers read by someone. That's what I know.
