This entire twenty year war was futile and stupid. America should have known after what happened to the Russians that they couldn't win in Afghanistan. Now the Taliban has all of their equipment and the US has probably succeeded in making the "terror" threat worse for itself.

Can anyone confirm these rumors I'm hearing by the way? I heard that the Taliban has been going to Shia events and showing solidarity with them for Muharram? Some Iraqis have been posting videos of this all over my parents facebooks. Not saying that these thugs are redeemable but in the event they establish some trust or boundaries with Shia that go beyond just cutting their heads off. Well then I can at least call that somewhat good news?

Even then they don't care. There's no amount of money that someone can pay me to make me believe that the democrat party and the elite liberals that operate it aren't corrupt beyond even what we're capable of imagining. It's pretty obvious in the way that the democrats are always making appeals to Muslims but don't manage to stand for any of the traditional values that Muslims hold. They'll criticize Christianity until the cows come home for being "intolerant" of the LMNOP+ agenda and then turn around and say "WE LOVE MUSLIMS!" and act as if "Muslim" is a racial category. Uh oh. Will this turn into an invasion of Afghanistan round 2?  It's like they want the US to stay.

Either stay and deal with the chaos for another 20 years, or leave and let it scorch the land. No real solution here.

No other countries are militarily present. I would think that leaving would still be the better decision.

They're might few videos but that's all just act. They're acting and don't really mean it. Otherwise why would take down the flags of Ahl-bayet, Why would they starting forcing girls into marriage. They're savage thugs animals wild dogs and hyenas.

I have to reduce how much I listen to the news because I find it very hard to take, plus what the coward leaders did to the county. Funnily, the tax payers where these cowards live, will have to pay for their cost of living. The countries the hold Ghani or Hamid Kharazi, must be stupid or what??? you holding these country cowards in your country, paying for the cost and what you getting out of them, seriously, they got nothing better else to do with their money.

Right now, neither regional powers nor world powers help Afghanistan to become or stay a democratic country. Neither Muslim nor non-Muslim countries want stability in Afghanistan. All they want is to carry out their respective interests inside of Afghanistan. The reasons and interests are various and every country tries to outplay and beat the other inside the borders of Afghanistan. Therefore, Afghans have to rely upon themselves only to stay save inside of that country. 

The world doesn't want Afghans minorities to live in peace inside of that country. That's a fact. If it wanted that, it would do more to reduce bloodshed inside that country. Instead, bloodshed becomes everyday life for people in Afghanistan.

Now the Taliban want power in Afghanistan. They have no political agenda or ideology. All they want to do is power-mongering. They want to rule Afghanistan but they, especially their leadership, among whom are currently Abdul Ghani Baradar, Zabihullah Mujahid and others and who belong to different groups inside of Taliban, don't know that in fact they will never have the power in Afghanistan. They are proxies and puppets of foreign powers inside Afghanistan.

Afghan History after the 1970s has shown that whenever someone gets too independent, he will be either killed or replaced with someone, who is brutal and bloodthirsty. In 1994 former Pashtun warlord Gulbuddin Hekmatyar was replaced by the Wahabi Taliban, when he became too independent. Former president Mohammad Najibullah was executed by the Taliban, Ahmad Shah Massoud and General Abdul Raziq were assassinated when they demanded foreigners to respect the sovereignty of Afghanistan. 

After a while Mullah Baradar will probably be replaced by another man from within the Taliban or by some other group, if he becomes too independent and too soft. He will be replaced by the same politicians and government who offer him their help and support now. And it has already started with the terror attacks in Kabul on 26 August 2021 by so-called ISIS-K, which killed more than 150 Afghans.

The only places where there is currently no bloodshed in Afghanistan, is where the agents of the world and regional powers cannot enter, which is Panjsher right now.

May God help Afghans.

Kabul Airport Attack Kills 13 U.S. Service Members, at Least 90 Afghans

90 Aghan civilians, 13 US service members killed in Kabul attack claimed by Daesh; US vows to retaliate

Following the attacks, Daesh's Amaq News Agency said on its Telegram channel that the terror group was behind the explosions.

"We can confirm that a number of US service members were killed in today's complex attack at Kabul airport," Pentagon press secretary John Kirby said in a statement. "A number of others are being treated for wounds. We also know that a number of Afghans fell victim to this heinous attack."

A senior Afghan health official also said 90 Afghan civilians were dead and over 100 others wounded.

Meanwhile, General Kenneth McKenzie, the leader of US Central Command, said that the United States would retaliate against the perpetrators of the attack.

"We believe it is their desire to continue these attacks and we expect those attacks to continue and we're doing everything we can to be prepared for those attacks," McKenzie said, noting, "We will go after them.”

The sound of a huge third explosion heard in the capital was confirmed by a Taliban spokesman to be due to the US military destroying ammunitions in the city, according to Al Jazeera. 

No other details were immediately available at the time of this reporting.

UN chief calls Security Council meeting

Meanwhile, United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called a meeting of the permanent members of the Security Council on the situation in Afghanistan, AFP quoted diplomats as saying.

Earlier, UN spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric said no UN personnel were believed to have been among the causalities, although some staff were reported to be around the airport compound at the time of the explosions.

Saleh, who has declared himself the new caretaker president after his boss fled the country, on Tuesday warned the Taliban to “avoid the terrains” to Panjshir, while acknowledging that the militant group has “amassed forces near the entrance of Panjshir.”

China warns about 'severe' Afghan security situation in wake of Kabul attacks

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian condemned the deadly attacks outside the Kabul airport on Friday, saying, "China is shocked by and strongly condemns the explosions."

The World Health Organization (WHO) also warned on Friday that health facilities were rapidly running out of supplies across Afghanistan.

It said the country could soon face a shortage of medical personnel as well.

"We have only a few days of supplies left and are exploring all options to bring more medicines into the country," said Rick Brennan, the WHO emergencies director in the Eastern Mediterranean region.

Speaking via video-link from the Egyptian capital, Cairo, in the wake of the Kabul attacks, he said that bringing supplies in through the airport was no longer an option.

Calls growing for Biden’s impeachment or resignation following Kabul carnage

Afghan refugees kept under inhuman conditions at US base in Qatar

Pentagon spokesman John Kirby acknowledged that the Afghan evacuees are living in inhuman conditions at a US airbase. He said “everybody’s focused on trying” to improve the situation.

Kirby was speaking to Axios on Tuesday after photos and video footage obtained by media outlets showed hundreds of Afghan refugees staying in an unsanitary hangar at al-Udeid airbase.

Staff at the US embassy in Kabul also decried how Afghan refugees were being treated at the facilities in Qatar, according to a State Department diplomatic cable obtained by the Middle East Eye.

According to the cable, the refugees were being kept in “un-airconditioned housing with too few lavatories – especially for women” at the US airbase.

Taliban: US can now help rebuild Afghanistan after destroying it

Taliban ‘planning to establish inclusive caretaker government’ in Afghanistan

Taliban sources told Al Jazeera about the group’s plan on Friday, adding that nearly a dozen names were being considered to be part of the new government, without mentioning the duration of the caretaker government’s term.

The unnamed sources further said a supreme leadership council had been convened to decide the form of the future government and nominate ministers, particularly for the judiciary, internal security, defense, foreign affairs, finance, and information portfolios as well as a special assignment for Kabul’s affairs.

They added that the group wanted to bring new faces to the government, including the sons of Tajik and Uzbek tribal leaders.

The Taliban have reportedly already appointed senior veterans to the positions of Afghanistan’s finance minister, interior minister, and defense minister, but the appointments have not been formally announced. A Taliban official in Kabul confirmed the key ministerial appointments this week.

Pakistani Haqqani assailant arrested after Kabul blasts

A Pakistani assailant belonging to the Haqqani network has reportedly been arrested after the deadly terrorist attacks outside the Kabul airport on Thursday. Top sources in Afghanistan told CNN-News18 that the Taliban were aware of the connection between the Haqqani network and Pakistan in the Kabul blast.

They said a third blast had been planned at the Turkmenistan Embassy. However, the sources said, two people had been detained before that attack could take place, and that they were in custody of the Taliban.

According to the sources, both of them are Pakistanis.

“Of course, it is very sad news about the large number of deaths,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told a briefing on Friday, adding that unfortunately, the pessimistic forecasts that entrenched terrorist groups, especially Daesh, would not fail to take advantage of the chaos in Afghanistan were being confirmed.

Peskov further said that the incident would further escalate the tensions in Afghanistan, which continues to be “a cause of our grave concern.”

On Wednesday, four Russian military planes evacuated Russian and other nationals from Kabul on the orders of President Vladimir Putin, as Moscow held military exercises involving its tank forces in neighboring Tajikistan.

The following letter of Amrullah Saleh, former Afghan Vice President, was published in German news magazine Der Spiegel.

Amrullah Saleh's roots are in Panjsher and he is Tajik Afghan. After Ashraf Ghani fled Afghanistan towards Dubai, Saleh left Kabul for Panjsher. He doesn't make phone calls because he can be tracked through that by the Taliban. He is one of the last political hopes of Afghan citizens after Ghani and other high ranking politicians of Afghanistan fled the country. He could be assassinated by Taliban or some foreign intelligence any time if his location in Panjsher is revealed.

The following is a part of his letter in English, of which he sent himself a photo to Der Spiegel, as negotiations between Taliban and Panjsher leaders go on:

"If Talibs agree to give us a timeline on when and how they engage the Afghan public, the masses in decision making, we are ready to enter into sincere and serious negotiations. The character of the state. Mechanism for chosing head of the state

Those are the agenda. I don't recognize their Emirate and will never do. A deal for surrender in the name and under the disguise of settlement won't happen. Rest confident.

If they opt for military solution. It is their choice and we are ready for every eventuality. We are in the Hindukush but we stand for Afghanistan.

Geographically we are isolated, but politically and morally Afghanistan is with us and it won't ever become Talibanistan.

Birth of an Afghan baby at an altitude of 10,000 meters above the ground + video and pictures

 

SHAFQNA, Afghanistan - An Afghan baby was born while evacuating Afghan citizens at an altitude of 10,000 meters, the Turkish Airlines said.

Turkish Airlines Media Center announced in a statement:

An Afghan woman named "Soman Nouri" gave birth to her baby at an altitude of 10,000 meters on a flight plane from Dubai to Birmingham, England, and the mother and baby are fine.

Suman Nouri, a 26-year-old Afghan woman who was flown to Britain by Turkish Airlines, gave birth to a baby girl with the help of flight attendants. The condition of this woman and her daughter Hava is good. The plane was forced to land at Kuwait airport to further address the situation of the mother and daughter, but flied shortly afterwards.

Biden asked why Afghan soldiers don’t fight the Taliban. Now that some Afghans fight, they don’t get support, not even spiritual support. Where is Biden to mention them? Some even come and say that people who fight or resist the Taliban are war-mongering. No, they fight because they have to fight now, as people have seen that Taliban can’t be trusted. More 150 dead on Kabul airport terrorist attack, human rights abuses etc., happened after Taliban took over Kabul. Worse to happen if Taliban stay.

Taliban attacked Panjsher on 30 August 2021 and tried to enter it but were successfully defeated by local resistance forces. A number of Taliban fighters and local resistance fighters were killed during several fights.

Taliban negotiation is trying to trick Panjsheri resistance and has not been sincere so far. Without Panjsher and other resistance fighters the Taliban would have committed far worse crimes by now for sure. Taliban are frightend, hopefully their worst nightmares becomes true soon. Hopefully the resistance keeps strong and may the martyrs of the resistance enter paradise. Hopefully those politicians who fled the country and didn't resist Taliban will stay out of Afghanistan forever.

Let's not blame the Taliban, they just follow their masters' orders.

Ahmad Massoud gave an e-mail interview to CNN.

I highlight the most important parts:

Bergen: Why are you resisting the Taliban?

Massoud: Unfortunately, the Taliban have not changed, and they still are after dominance throughout the country. We are resisting dominance, intolerance, and oppression brought by one political force over the majority of the population that do not support them. The Taliban will only be accepted if they form an inclusive government with all ethnic groups in the country. Afghanistan is a country made up of ethnic minorities and no one constitutes a majority. It is a multicultural state instead of a nation-state. For this reason, they cannot be allowed to rule the country, and if they have this position, we will resist them. Only in a decentralized state where power is equally distributed between the different ethnic and sectarian groups, can we coexist peacefully. In addition, we believe that democracy, the rights, and freedom of all citizens regardless of race and gender should be preserved.

Bergen: Who is in your force? How many men? What kind of weapons?

Massoud: Our forces are made up of local resistance forces from the Panjshir, local resistance forces from other provinces and the remnants of the former Afghan Army. We have a sufficient amount of equipment at the moment, but we will need assistance to sustain our resistance in the long term.

Bergen: Your father held off nine Soviet offensives and also the Taliban: Are you continuing his legacy?

Massoud: We are trying our best to follow my father's path and to continue his legacy. We are determined to defend our people and region until our last breath, and just as my father fought bravely against the Soviet aggressors and international terrorism, I am resolved to emulate him as much as possible and fight for independence, freedom, democracy, and other values he cherished.

Bergen: What are the Taliban weaknesses, militarily?

Massoud: The Taliban are not as strong as many believe they are. The reason why they took the country was the weakness of the government and the leadership of the Afghan military. Unfortunately, former Afghan President Ashraf Ghani purged the army of generals and officers who knew how to fight the Taliban and who had the will and motivation to fight the enemy. The leadership of the country was another problem. Ashraf Ghani lacked legitimacy, and the masses grew apart from his government in the recent years. Ghani and his national security adviser Hamdullah Mohib's interference in the decision-making process of the Afghan military also weakened the armed forces. They are two individuals who lacked any military training or experience, yet it was they that made the final decisions on war plans.

Bergen: Are you still trying to negotiate with the Taliban?

Massoud: We are always in favor of negotiations, and my father also tried negotiations and peace before resistance. However, just as my father's attempts were not met with sincerity and seriousness, my dialogue with the Taliban so far hasn't resulted in anything tangible. I am not negotiating to be part of the government or to secure a few positions. I am negotiating to see if a political settlement can be achieved that can establish social justice, guarantee equality, rights, and freedom for all and preserve democracy. If the Taliban do not make concessions and continue to believe they can dominate the country, then we will also resist. The last time they pursued dominance, they were faced with five years of resistance.

Bergen: You studied war studies at King's College London, and attended Sandhurst. Did this prepare you for fighting the Taliban?

Massoud: Yes, my time at Sandhurst trained me to fight and plan battles. However, my time at King's College learning War Studies taught me how to avoid war and how to pursue peace as best as I can to avoid bloodshed. But negotiations have their limits and as Clausewitz points out, War is the continuation of politics, and if we face aggression we will be forced to fight and launch resistance to defend our land, people, and values.

Resistance against the Taliban

The Taliban want to create a new style government, which never existed in Afghanistan before. The posts are likely as follows:

-Supreme leader: Mullah Akhundzada

-President: Mullah Baradar

-other posts will have son of former founder Mullah Omar and other high-ranking Taliban members.

-25 ministries and 12 Taliban "scholars" will be their advisors.

But while all promises of Taliban to form an inclusive government turn out as lies, more and more people resist the Taliban government and beat them with their own weapons:

On 3 September 2021 several groups of Afghan women protested against the new laws of Taliban in Herat and Kabul.

Also, the resistance in Panjsher is still holding ground (cp. beginning of the first DW-YT video).

The Taliban haven't realized yet that Afghanistan is an ungovernable country, especially using force. They are now fought with the same weapons they challenged the old Afghan government with. And this is just the beginning, if they continue with their pigheadedness, despite their opponents don't have the same foreign backers, which they had and still have.

Dr. Amin Ahmadi, a member of the Afghan Peace Delegation in Doha, wrote on 12 September 2021 on his Facebook page in response to the formation of a new government by the Taliban:

"Gaining obedience through war is not the right answer

1. In the history of Islam, Yazid tried to gain obedience (Bay'at) from Imam Hussein through force and war and he tried to force him to pledge allegiance, which led to disaster.

2. From a religious point of view, a political problem cannot be solved by imposing war on the opponent and thus committing the crime of murder.

3. Politically, the establishment of lasting peace requires that the history of (former Afghan Kings) Nader Khan and Abdul Rahman Khan are not repeated, and that we do not humiliate each other by trying to impose military defeat upon each other. 

Let us not create grudge and hatred for other ethnicities in this century of information and awareness.

Therefore, reason and religion dictate that the Panjshir problem should be part of a great peace plan, as a result of which Afghanistan is saved from the problem of economic and political sanctions and reaches international recognition. The satisfaction of all groups and social classes, including all Afghan tribes, should be the goal within a system, which follows inclusiveness (of all groups) is achieved, resolved. Violence and war are not the solution to that problem."
