السلام عليكم و رحمة الله

If I have invested in stocks and have not withdrawn my money, do I have to withdraw 20% of the earnings to pay khums every year? Or do I wait until I withdraw all the money out? This is in terms of long term investment (2-5 years). How does this work?

I don't think you have to pay khums on your investment earnings? As far as I know khums is only paid on your earned money that you have left over in savings. So if you do have to pay khums it would be 20% on your initial investment not the profit. I might be wrong though

Did you get a response? As far as I know, you don't have to pay khums until you sell the stock/mutual fund shares at the desired time. You don't have to sell 20% each year else your money will grow at a much slower rate.
