What does this world need more of?

For those in their youth/teens/20s, what kind of people does this world need more of and what qualities should these young men and women focus on cultivating within themselves?

Empathy. Love. Compassion. Acceptance of differences. Sincerity. Integrity. It has gotten better, but seems to be regressing in the past few years.

We should all need those qualities to become a supporter of Imam Mehdi AS...so his reappearance wouldn't take long. Because slowly slowly I'm loosing my faith in humanity... everywhere I look is mess, violence, war, poverty, selfishness...so the world's needs lies in you. Yes you can start to make a difference with showing tolerance, kindness, mercy, purity, spirituality, love and support.

I second what @notme said. I’d also add that more people, both men and women, should learn basic life skills like cooking, deep cleaning, and staying organized.

It’s pretty sad how most people in their teens and early twenties generally would rather eat out/order meal kit delivery services than learn the basics of cooking and baking. They’d rather blow off their money on food, several times a week, than save that money on groceries (which is cheaper per person than ordering food/eating out) or a decent vacation (if they budget well). Now, I’m no expert, but I think everyone should know how to make Chicken and Biscuits, Beef Stew, Shepard’s Pie, Chicken Pot Pie, baked Mac and Cheese, tomato soup, chili—the essentials. I always cringe when some YouTuber has lived on their own for years and still can barely cook pasta without the noodles turning into a mushy, overcooked mess, or resort to microwaveable meals. Then they think it’s quirky or some sort of interesting personality trait not knowing how to cook. Some people don’t even know how to boil rice, cream together butter and sugar, or make non-runny scrambled eggs. 

After your teens, it’s no longer fun to be messy, not clean your apartment/house/room, and not know how to cook.

Ima be real with you. Am in my teens right now and i see too many people waste their life away. Both muslims and non muslims wasting their time away on whatever new trend there is. I would be happy if more people had focus on their purpose in life and sought to achieve their goals aswell as knowledge constantly. I just see people live life on autopilot let life take them wherever without them being in control. If i am honest i used to be like this but i cut off all negative influences in my life and focused on becoming a better person daily. Seeking knowledge, developing skills and make the most of every day i live to see. Best decision i ever made.

Empathy, I agree wholeheatedly.I believe it is critical in this chaotic world with so many struggles. I looked it up in the dictionary and it describes it so perfectly! May I quote it?

"Empathy is the ability to recognize, understand, and share the thoughts and feelings of another person...developing empathy is crucial for establishing relationships and behaving compassionately" (compassion is suffering alongside someone in distress!) "It involves experiencing another person's point of view, rather than just one's own, and enables prosocial or helping behaviors that come from within, rather than being forced."

My prayer is that my heart will keep growing in this area as I focus outward on others rather than always making everything about myself! I am no longer young...but it would be my advice from having lived into my 70's for those who have a life ahead and want to make a difference in this world for good!

Generosity. I find people being more and more miserly not just with their wealth but also with things like duas, praise, help and advice.

You wish to know the teens of today , well here we go : First of all , at my school legit everyone smokes e-cigarettes (ecig) , swearing is the norm so basically if you dont swear you dont fit into the fashion of life , non-stop talking about carnal desires and being open about it (admitting they wanna do something with someone) , rape at my school and also murder.  This under the age catalogue of 11-16 . So yh , this is one reason I hate my school life . I obviously stay away from these acts but once I got really tempted to try the E-cig and yh (astaghfirullah) I did . The world Needs Imam Mahdi (ajtfs) , if it's this bad now imagine how it's going to be before Imam Mahdi (ajtfs) rises .

The world already has Imam Mahdi (ajtfs).  The world already has Quran, Ahlulbayt (عليه السلام), and Sunnah.

Youths of today, need to know their roles based on the above that we already have so they can have protective shields and direction while facing the world surrounding them.

If we don't have Light of Imam Mahdi (عليه السلام), Qur'an and Ahlulbayt in the souls...other types of elements will enter and reside in our souls.  Mixed souls have more problems.

With that Light in the souls, then strive hard to be best Engineers, Medical Doctors, Firefighters, Designers...whatever the world needs.

Akhlaq is needed for all, when we interacts with others.  Try to gives and takes, understanding, respect and remove the hate. If cannot achieve it, minimize interactions and focus on our strongest talents, and contribute to the society that others has no need to know about us.  If still having issues with others, be a Lone Ranger, or nuclear submarine that doesn't surface from deep ocean but effective to move around the world.
