Never understood how one can give thawab to someone else, let alone a prophet or saint.

Plus, my understanding of a nader is that it is a vow. Ex : you make a vow to pay such sadaqa if such or such happens. Not sure how you can 'extract' thawab from it, and give it to someone else.

Walaikum Salaam,

After reading Quran I was under the impression that you could send the blessings and thawab of that to the deceased people like a prayer.

Walaikum Salaam Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatu,

Sorry brother I meant that I always thought you can send the thawab of your Quran recital to the deceased to lessen their suffering etc but maybe I was wrong. Sorry I worded that wrong.

Salams everyone,

We were taught this as well, any aamal essentially can be done for the deceased. Fasting, quran reciting, charity etc. Usually after a lecture or prayer at our local mosque, an announcement is made to send the reward of surah al fatiha to a certain deceased and to the muslims as well.
