No translation of the Noble Qur’an in any language can justify the original meaning conveyed in the Arabic language.

My personal choice is the following: Muhammad Asad, M. M. Pickthall and Muhammad Habib Shakir

Above is a link to a nice site which has multiple translations and have graded in following categories.

Generally Accepted Translations of the Meaning

Controversial or status undetermined works

Non-Muslim and/or Orientalist works.

New, Partial, or In Progress Translations

The Clear Quran translated by Mustafa Khattab is a wonderful translation in a very modern and understandable tone, it also has some generally good/informative footnotes and for the price it’s definitely worth it. You can purchase one from the Furqaan bookstore or Amazon.

The reason Mustafa Khattab decided to pioneer this new translation was due to an encounter he had with a taxi driver who claimed that our Quran called him an animal - which he found upsetting - perplexed over the matter Mustafa Khattab went and reviewed the verse and chapter of the claimant, and saw that it was an inaccurate translation of the term.

He decided that it was necessary to introduce a more accurate and easy to understand translation of the Quran, and I must say the result was spectacular. Something I like is also the way that before a topic/metaphor/allegory/parable is presented there are subheadings above those specific verses.

However, it is still critical to try to learn the language of the Quran as there is no comparison, nor translation which can ever match its eloquence, depth, and of course uniqueness.

I would only suggest Qarai and Sarwar as reliable translations.
