I don't want sound too complaining and pessimist, but the last 7 years of my life have been terrible! So, of all the people posting here, it's probably me who DESPARATELY wants this year to be a year of relief, peace, joy and success. 

May God bless all of you brothers and sisters and remove your pain and suffering, and may God grant ALL your wishes in 2021.

Myanmar Repression

The country has had another military coup d' tat.

From what was said this morning on NHK and DeutscheWelle, the military chief "wants to be President", the military party "was humiliated" in last November's elections", the military will investigate "election fraud",  (عليه السلام).Suu Kyi and the President are under house arrest, people are "shocked", protests in Thailand and Japan, world gov't are "demanding" for "democracy to be restored", military's imposed 'state of emergency' will be for one year.

Had SUCH a bad day for absolutely no reason, like if you ask me what was bad I won't be able to tell you exactly but the kind that leaves you mentally drained for no reason. :P

Evil eye? Negative energy? Donno. 

Would be grateful for some positive happy, funny,cheerful posts.

Since the above is rarity on SC these days watching a few clips of 'impractical jokers' is my backup plan lolz

I don't really have anything funny or cute. I can share some of my good news though: my son is talking a lot these past few months. I really think staying home all the time has been good for him, developmentally. We'd like to get him back into the world eventually though, so I've been working with him on wearing a mask. (Remember, in addition to speech delays, he has sensory sensitivities.) The other day, for the first time, he left a mask on for several seconds, long enough for me to snap a quick picture.

Very sorry to hear that. Strangely, I am also having a very bad day, one which makes you feel completed exhausted, anxious and just terribly bad! I am now going to sit in a quiet place, and do some prayers.

Today marks the annual date of the victory of the Islamic revolution in Iran, a day when colonial powers and their puppets were thrown out of the country by the help of God. It has been 42 years now with the enemies of Islam trying to destroy the Islamic republic by any means possible, whether its been by saddams(la) bombs or american sanctions and without the help of Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) this revolution would have surely ended like many other revolutions ended were western puppet leaders were overthrown, namely, right back at step 0.

SubhanAllah, without the blessing and help of Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى), something like the Islamic revolution, to completely put the world order and the world powers out of play, would be considered impossible.

Alhamdulillah the IR became a safe heaven for all the shias of the world and the hawzas of the shias were empowered and allowed to both grow, study and spread the message of Ahlul Beyt(عليه السلام) to all corners of the world.

My congratulations to the shias of this world on this day and may Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) bless ayatollah Khomeini(رضي الله عنه) with the best in the afterlife. Surely he was a man who dedicated his whole life to Islam and whos faith was more than words and his faith, by the will of Allah(سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى), manifested in shaking the world and its order, may God bless his soul!

l had a course on lRl the following year or so, taught by a Farsi specialist. l've followed lRl in the news and books ever since. l won't win any academic credentials, but it has been an interesting avocation. This is where some of my comments come from, here in our S.C .

The most recent thing l found disgusting from the West was Pompeo's snickering about lran's covid cases --before the US started to get hammerd by it.

This time last year, life was so different. All of us had our resolutions and plans for the new year, but then March hit and so did Covid, and the world has changed so much within the span of a year.

SubhanAllah. Really makes you realize how this life is so temporary and unstable. At the end of the day, the only thing that does matter in this world is our relationship with Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى).

When were were little, pre-schoolers, our Dad drove around G___'s curve and a cardinal hit the windshield. Died of course. Our Dad explained it by saying the bird committed suicide -which is when my sister and l learned that word, as we talked decades later after l drove around the same curve and the same thing happened, about 42-43 years later.

Back in the 90s, there was this cardinal that would attack my Dad's truck mirror for hours everyday, because they see their reflections and think it's another bird.

Power Outages in Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi because of "frozen gas lines". [Outages in Kentucky and Portland area of Oregon, also.]

lt is the water vapor in the gas wells that have frozen the supplies.

ln Texas, hospitals are without heat or power.

Comment: According to the google, the record low temperature in Houston, Texas was in 1930 at. -1 F and was -2 F Monday. For Dallas, in 1989 it was -1 F and a record -8 in 1899. The all time record low for Texas was -23 F in 1933 in Seminole, TX.

So, as the Texas State Energy Board, ERCOT, had mandated low temperature protection, why didn't the power companies move faster over the last ten years?

Meanwhile, pipes have burst and people's food has started to freeze.
