I  simply dont want to have kids. I want to be able  to satisfy my wife and not have kids while not using physical barriers such as condoms. Is having a permanent vasectomy allowed in this case?

Some marjaa don't allow it. I follow Sayyid Fadlallah(رضي الله عنه), and he says that you can use birth control, but only the reversible kind. A Vasectomy, in most cases, is not reversible. Maybe investigate your wife getting an IUD. The modern kinds are almost 100% effective in preventing pregnancy.

My question to Sayyid al Sistani is on way. But according to my understanding, I don't think it is allowed.

You can use other birth control methods. Most of them are allowed.

Contraceptives, IUDs are allowed.
