Imams knowledge of the unseen

Do the Imams get any knowledge of the unseen they need?

I came across this Hadith in Al Kafi which says:

Ammar al-Sabati said: I asked Abu Abdillah (Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq) concerning if Imam knows al-Ghayb (Unseen). He replied: "No, but when he wishes to know something, Allah causes him to know that.”(Usul al-Kafi, Kitab al- Hujjah, Tradition #666)

I found this Hadith to be somewhat contradicting to the verse in Ayat Kursi in the Quran which says:

they encompass nothing of His knowledge except what He will.”(Qur’an 2:255)

The Hadith is saying when the Imam wishes NOT when Allah wishes he will grant them knowledge of unseen.

Can someone please explain this or clarify this for me because I don’t know if this Hadith is authentic or not but I just want know so I can clear any doubts ?

The hadith means that when they want to know, Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) by His mercy gives them. This is because Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) already willed them to ask and He will provide them the answer by His will. The hadith does not say whatever, rather something, which is limited.

In short, God gave them the ability to ask and God will provide them the answer. If they wish something, it will only happen trough Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى), not by themselves.
