Russia President: US hardly the ‘superpower’ it used to be

Quote

“The United States, which at some point absolutely dominated, can hardly claim to be exclusive," Putin told the Valdai Discussion Club, a Moscow-based think tank, via video-link on Thursday.

He added "The times when all the most important international questions were discussed and solved effectively between Washington and Moscow have passed."

Under the outgoing administration of President Donald Trump, the US withdrew from the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) and the Anti- Ballistic Missile (ABM) Treaty with Russia, citing alleged violations by Moscow.

Putin criticized lack of transparency in the area of nuclear weapons on the part of Washington.

Putin said Germany is a major power (again). Economically and technically, yes. Germany has also somewhat displaced France as the agreed-to political leader in Europe (W.E.U.) do to French failings in this regard, so what the post Merkel Europe will be like l do not think can be ascertained at this time. When she retires next year Germany and Europe will be the lesser. What Germany notably lacks is energy power. Coal is "out" so no more Ruhr Valleys. Nuclear is being shut down, permanently. Wind has been a financial disappointment, especially in the North Sea. And solar is a niche/ ad hoc  source of electrical power.

Iranian FM Spokesman reacts to statement of US Justice Department

Quote

In a tweet on Fri., Khatibzadeh wrote, “The Pirates of the Caribbean openly boasting abt their booty.”

“Only, as we said before: it wasn't ours. But sb else's oil has certainly been stolen. No one civilized brags abt stealing.”

“To US rogue regime: your toolbox, unlike ours, is shrinking by the day. Ask @robertcobrien!” he tweeted.

According to the Washington Post, the US Department of Justice said in a statement that this country had sold 1.1 million barrels of oil from four ships seized in the high seas on Thursday.

The value of this oil shipment was $40 million.

The United States pirates the oil shipment by seizing four ships bound for Venezuela on August 13.

Iran looks silly lecturing the US/Zionists about civilised behaviour—as if Iran somehow expects the proverbial leopard to change its spots. If Iran is serious about countering the US and/or the Zionists, it shouldn’t try to reason with them, or pressure the US-/Zionist-controlled “international community” (Bill Gates’ WHO and the Rothschilds’ UN, for instance) to side with “justice.” The more Iran talks, the more it exposes its weakness. Strong nations, even if outgunned and/or outnumbered, don’t try to pick fights they know they can’t win, that is, lack either the will or the means or both to win. Iran should say less and do more (it is already doing a lot on its own, as it has been doing for decades). Fortress Iran is the best strategy, rather than vain hopes of Sunni-Shia unity or faith in a nonexistent “international community.” There is only a vast supranational mafia—the “usual suspects”—controlling most governments and societies from behind the scenes.
