Religious obsessive compulsive disorder

Salam o alaikum people, this is my story, and I need urgent help.

I am a boy, a boy who was not a firm follower of Islam, but after watching some documentaries on Ayatollah Behjat, I decided to transform myself to a better human and decided not to sin for forty days. And believe me a person who never prayed salat, was now performing nafils along with tahajjud every night without commiting any sin (in my opinion). Till 28 days passed, I felt my spirituality going up to a new level, I never experienced before. But, on the 29 day, a very satanic thought regarding Ahlebait (عليه السلام) came to my mind which I could not stop and due to those thoughts due to depression I was not able to perform any good deeds because whenever I tried to go to a mosque or a majlis, I would experience these satanic thoughts,  and from two years from that date, I am still suffering from that obsessed thought. Please help me, I am very worried about losing my faith and my love to Ahlebait (عليه السلام).

My mental situations matches the one written in this link: https://www.shiachat.com/forum/topic/235055158-religious-obsessive-compulsive-disorder/

For God sake please help me.

Salams,

I am really happy that you've turned a new page in your story and started new and inshAllah with God's help you will come out of this situation stronger than ever.

This does tend to happen when people start becoming more religiously concerned, the devil realises that you are turning back to Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) and have begun taking everything more seriously, the shaitaan doesn't want this and so he uses every tool in his arsenal to take you off the path of Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى). Do know that these satanic thoughts are literally from the devil's arsenal. He is going to keep attacking you with these whispers until you give into them and one solution we have to this is simply do not give in by ignoring them. These are just thoughts after all and you won't be punished for them, only when you start listening to them do problems start. Any satanic thought you get about the Ahlulbayt (عليه السلام) has to be completely blocked off, ask Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) for protection from the shaitaan, https://www.al-islam.org/sahifa-al-kamilah-al-sajjadiyya-imam-ali-zayn-al-abidin/17-his-supplication-against-satan, this is Imam al-Sajjad's (عليه السلام) dua against the shaitaan, read this with your heart and Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) will help you. I also really like this dua by Imam al-Sajjad (عليه السلام) as well, https://www.al-islam.org/sahifa-al-kamilah-al-sajjadiyya-imam-ali-zayn-al-abidin/20-his-supplication-noble-moral-traits-and, it'll help in general.

In short words, ignore these thoughts.  I know it's going to be hard at first but trust me if you give it a try, it'll help so much. Stay strong and do not give into the shaitaan, he will try with maximum effort to influence you to do wrong, even if it is one sin. Anything that comes as a satanic thought just ignore and ask Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) for protection. You have to make a stand against the shaitaan. Just as the shaitaan has his arsenal, we have ours. We are lovers of the Ahlulbayt (عليه السلام), a great tool we have been given is tawassul, seeking their intercession, http://www.duas.org/tawassul.htm, read this dua and ask the infallibles to intercede on your behalf.

I do hope this helps, with Allah's help, you will overcome this and come back stronger.

With Duas and Salams for your success.

Salams,

Thank you for your kind words but it has been around two years since I am trying to ignoring them but they always pop in somehow. I feel helpless and hopeless now.

I cant imagine to live with these thoughts and would to die rather prefer living. :(

Salams,

You know I did have the exact same problem, these thoughts would never go away and I felt the same way. But I just want you to know that there is light at the end of the tunnel. There is hope, please trust me on this. I know you want the thoughts to go away this instant but it is going to take time. I want you to do something for me, right now. In your mind promise yourself that whenever these thoughts appear you will try your best to ignore them. Promise yourself that whenever these thoughts come, you're not going to think about them, just forget them. This isn't you, it's the shaitaan. You know one factor that makes this worse is that we think about these thoughts and this leads to more problems, we feed this negative thought even more by considering it. So make the promises that you'll try your best to not consider the satanic thoughts that come because it's the shaitaan trying to misguide you. Try reading the duas I've mentioned above, there isn't going to be immediate change but overtime it'll help greatly, Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) is your friend.

I'm going to be here with you every step of the way. But I think sometimes we fail realise that Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) is with us and if we understand this, all our problems become zero. So ask Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) for help and then take the advice we give you.

I know you may be reluctant to do the promises but trust me, it will help you greatly. Just promise yourself.

InshAllah this helps.

With Duas and Salams for your success.
