Salam,  I have DuckDuck Go browser and it blocks trackers when I visit ShiaChat.

Can ShiaChat verify all the trackers that come to this site?

Are you able to  block them from tracking you?

We live in the era of AI and I want to keep my business and information private.

Does ShiaChat voluntarily give out information to Silicone Valley or do they get money from them and sell information about users?

What about governments and  intelligence agencies?

Please be honest about your policies.  I believe it is our right to know before we sign up to the message board.

I'd appreciate these questions to be addressed.

Salams,

1. Can ShiaChat verify all the trackers that come to this site?:  We use 2 COTs products.  Invision Board and ArrowChat.  The vendors as far as I know don't use trackers as a built functionality to track our users but they definitely would have trackers back to the mothership to report on license validity/usage and maintenance.

2. Are you able to  block them from tracking you?:  They're COTS products, we can't but you're free to.

3. We live in the era of AI and I want to keep my business and information private:  Good luck!

4.  Does ShiaChat voluntarily give out information to Silicone Valley or do they get money from them and sell information about users?:  Solid No.

5. What about governments and  intelligence agencies?:  Of course, we're law abiding citizens and will volunteer any and all information if asked to.   You're responsible for what you post here.

6. Please be honest about your policies.  I believe it is our right to know before we sign up to the message board:  You agree to the privacy policy when you sign on to this site.

I downloaded the DuckDuckGo chrome extension to see what tracker you pops up and the only tracker I saw was the Google Analytics tracker.  We added this like every other site for browsing traffic trends and analysis and is based on IP address.  The IP addresses logged on this site (along with all posts) is not linked to your IP address that's logged by google as we don't share that information with them.  More information about what Google does with your IP address here:  https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en-US

More information about what Google does

What l never understood, despite what is said, is how the social media giants make any real money? lt can't be advertising. The basis for my saying this is because before there was social media, "advertising budgets" by businesses and multinationals varied so widely that occasionally during the 60's -90's, articles in newspapers or magazines reported on how many publishers were on the verge of bankruptcy, had layoffs, and so forth. lt is the same now. C0VlD-l9 has closed 100k businesses in the US, to include the 22k of 63k restaurants.

Corollary:  This past week, print-media has begun pursuing Google for a share of Google's advertising revenue from the print media connections.
