Salam wa3laykoum, so i wondering is there anyway to get a list of sunnahs/mustahabs of prophet Mohammed (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) and ahlul bayt. I want to live my life according to them being the best of role models.

for example a the way they ate or used miswak before salat, dress codes, mustahabs in salat, wearing a sunnah cap anything.  I know it will take time but slowly slowly I want to try my best to follow the sunnah of rasool Allah and ahlul bayt.

Even if I’m this post people can give some dot points would be great for me and other shiachatters

Walaykum as Salam,

read the books of a marja’ that you do taqlid to, they will explain all the jurisprudential rules that guide your everyday life from the moment you wake up, to the moment you go to sleep.

I follow sayid Ali khamenei but sometimes his website is inaccessible. Can you recommend me some books?

Unfortunately I know none in detail as I do not do taqlid to Sayyid Khamene’i, neither I support many views held by the aforementioned. Inshallah, others would be able to help you.

Salam Alykum,

Seek knowledge from the cradle to the grave is a famous saying our last prophet has advised his followers.

When it comes to the recommended acts, you need to make sure that you first are completing the obligatory acts. As most recommended acts revolve around the wajibats such as praying, fasting, hajj, charity and so on. Unfortunately, it's impossible to list the thousands, upon thousands of sunnah/recommended acts as firstly, there are a ton, and second, we do not know in what aspect of recommenced acts you are looking for (praying?, fasting? akhlaq? ).

My best piece of advise is to read the Quran, Hadiths, and or watch lectures on Youtube. The Quran will act as a blueprint, the Hadiths will act as your teacher, and the lectures will enable you to add onto your knowledge. I will link a few sources most people on Shiachat are aware of, and I'd recommend reading the biography of the prophets, and Imams to get a better understanding of their lifestyle as each Imam is unique. If you cannot do this, I'd start with either Imam Ali, Imam Hussein, or Imam Zain Ul Abideen.

If you cannot possible do this, as mentioned above from our brother, follow your Marja's rulings, and if this is not even possible ask your local resident sheikh.

Few mustahabs:

- Pray with an aqeeq ring and perfume (attar musk)

-Say bismillah before you start things

-Eat with the right hand

-Remember Imam Hussein when drinking water

-Fast on the 13th,14th,and 15th of every month

-Smile

-Pray 11 rakat salatul Lay between midnight and Fajr including recommended prayers throughout the day

-Take care of your neighbours

Thank you. Yes I agree wajib acts are first that’s why I’ve been making up my qadha salat rather then doing the mustahab ones. Thanks for the other tips. The type of acts I want is pretty much anything wether it’s aklaq, salat, fasting. Just so other people can look at this post and gain some knownledge too

Grow your beard (look at Khamenei’s beard). Most Shias shy away from these kind of beards because this sunnah has been auctioned off to the Sunnis. Also, trimming your mustache is a sunnah.

Shaving Mustache is just a Wahabi tradition but trimming it recommended  & you can find  many shias by beard but length of beard for shias must not be more than length of  4  fingers that put beside together not like long beard of Salafis & wahabists while they shave their Mustaches.

SECOND CHAPTER: MUSTAHAB PRAYERS

The Prayer of The Bedouin (Salat Al-Rabi)

This section comprises some highly recommended (but not obligatory) prayers that have not been mentioned in the book of Mafatih al-Jinan.

Hahaha yeah bro that’s what I’m doing I even made a post couple months ago and you commented regarding trimming the moe. So far my beards about 3 fingers long and my moustache now Is trimmed to a 1.5 - 2 on the machine (used to be .5). Inshallah yes the beard I’m growing until it’s able to be held with a hand grasp only.

Ayatullah Khamenei has two websites. They are not the same. Both have different content. If one of them is down, then you can probably read the other one.

As salaamun aleikum,

Theres a very good book written by Allameh Tabatabaie called "Sunnan An Nabi"...

It has categorized the Prophets sunnahs according to if the were during eating, with people, at bedtime, prayer time, fasting, his personal hygiene, and more. I dont have the book with me at this moment or i would give u more details.

I dont know if a  PDF version is available for free or not. You may have to purchase online.

Its a good book and its been advised by scholars to add one practice from it every (i think) month or so, until you have incorporated as much as possible into your life.

Hope this helps-
