Is it real and is it permissible, what is the astral plane and is it safe to go there if we're aloud to go there. I have dreams about it so vivid i can feel being touched and attacked by something. If it's not just a dream how do I stop it. If its something else what is it and how do I deal with it.

you won't find much about this in Islamic literature... or it is the same as entering barzakh (while you are alive)...

but if you are dreaming, it could be a lucid dream

before entering dream/astral realm, do wuzu, and when lucid/dreaming pray or do zikr... and visualize seeing yourself in light.

there are many non-islamic resources you can use to learn more.

Sheikh Farrokh Sekalashfar is the guy you want if you want a shia scholar and expert on this.

Salam it is permissible but highly advised by grand Shia scholars like Ayatullah-Bahjat (رضي الله عنه) that you must do it under guidance of a reliable spiritual mentor because there is high risk of attacking by Jinns & losing of faith by their affection, that unfortunately these mentors were always very rare that they don't promote themselves during their life time & after Ayatullah-Bahjat (رضي الله عنه) only frauds claimed such status for themselves by calling themselves as his special student & etc that his office refuted their false claims that after him we faced a great gap in this field anyway you can use some of his advises but you must be vary from people  are claiming that had special connection with him.
