Khameini's announcement was only for Iran [edit: so far]. So maybe it doesn't extends to the Gulf countries, or elsewhere in the Middle East. Edit: But I'm not sure. I don't know.

It is on Sunday, May 24th in all regions for followers of Ayt. Sayyid Kamal al-Haydari & Ayt. Sayyid Muhammad Hussain Fadlallah (as they both use astronomical calculations unlike other maraji). Sources: http://alhaydari.com/ar/2020/05/69146/, http://english.bayynat.org/News/News_18052020.htm

If we go by the fatwa we saw:

Quote

If sighting the new moon is proven, say, in California, it is also proven for all cities or places where the probability of sighting the new moon equals, or is more than, that of California.

Then the sighting counts for almost every place West of Iran (look at the visibility curves on the moon sightings maps). That's assuming that is how we determine chance of sighting, which I think I've settled with. Previous fatawa say the same except with the specific California example. Another fatwa says:

Quote

Q 832: If the crescent marking the beginning of Shawwāl is not observed in a city by the local people but the radio or television
announces the beginning of Shawwāl, should the local people act upon the radio announcement, or should they ascertain by
investigating whether Shawwāl has commenced?
A: If the radio or television announcement makes them feel sure that Shawwāl has
commenced, or there is a decree by the Jurist Leader announcing the beginning of
Shawwāl, then there is no need for further investigation.

Basically: it's Ramadan everyone for Seyyed Al Qa2ed. Also:

Anyways, for North America, Seyyed Sistani followers will need to wait. Eid Mubarak to everyone though!

Eid Mubarak to my brothers and sisters on ShiaChat.

What a strange Ramadan it has been, but at least I didn't follow Saudi Arabia this year! (those of you, if any, who remember me will remember).

Stay safe everyone.

Well then you define horizon, which Imam Khamenei defines as:

Quote

Q 835: What is meant by sameness of horizon?
A: It means to be equal as far as possibility/impossibility of sighting the moon crescent is
concerned.

I see this:

Q 835: What is meant by sameness of horizon?
A: When certain areas are located on the same longitude, they are said to share the same horizon.

Probably an old opinion, that sure I don't think is official (it definitely looks old lol). Use leader.ir

As a muqallid doing taqlid to Ayatollah Sistani, you follow his rulings and announcements, regardless of your father’s family.

Could you just be truthful with your Mother and tell her you follow another marja and he says Eid is Monday? Wouldn't it be good to tell her? Will she hate you for that?

"khamenei.de is not an official site of Imam Khamene'i (hafizahuallah), it is only a humble work of some of his  [muqallideen] in Germany. See the links to the official sites of Imam Khamene'i."

It seems that it predates the official translations available on the web.

Salam. A link to a German website has been removed from the OP. The English side of www.leader.ir is scrolling the following important notification:

This is to announce that only the contents of www.leader.ir and www.Khamenei.ir websites are confirmed by the Office of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

@OrthodoxTruth For what region is that statement of Ayt. Sayyid Sadiq al-Husayni al-Shirazi?

There’s no specification therefore I reckon for everywhere. Otherwise it would of been specified. Ayatollah Sistani also ruled Eid al-Fitr to be on Monday.

For all Shi'ite believers in Northern America it is tomorrow (Sunday, May 24th).

In North America there have been multiple confirmed sightings by naked eye (Montreal, North Carolina, etc) all by Shia brothers, so it wouldn't make sense to be everywhere. Does Seyyed Shirazi have an office in North America at all?
