Greetings

I would like to know your opinion. When do you think the current situation will end? They said a few weeks of quarantine will kill the virus and it will disappear. Now we can safely say a few months have passed. Next year? What about economy? What about petro and dollar, the all important godcolossus of the economy? Will it be too late to save your Gotham? I see our glorious scientific and technological prowess has failed, dropped to its knees, panting in fear and confusion. Where are the stem cells? The human cloning? Feeding malaria drugs to dying people and thinking of injecting disinfectants instead? What is stopping Elon Musk to escape the earth? Surely I would escape in his stead, if it were possible to. I wouldn't wait around I would move to the Moon at least and take my Trekkies with me.~ About 3 million infected and no sign of stopping and clock's a ticking, money is disappearing. Surely the arsenal of the noble democracy has tricks left up its sleeve to cater to .. the people. Not let the dreaded bread lines nightmare come to pass, no, not on our watch even if that seems inevitable in a future nearer than we realize. And I'm not talking about the third world countries meant to breed slaves for and entertain the west, I don't think there will be bread lines at all in those. So when will this end?

I think unless a vaccine is developed, this virus will continue to pop up among human populations. Too many carriers are asymptomatic and people are too bad at remaining isolated.

l think it will not "end" as it is a coronavirus like the common cold.

So then social distancing, work from home and the whole routine is here to stay?

What l think will happen is that the vulnerable people will continue to die off until it lingers in the background like Rhumatic fever.

Or for a different example, the various pathogens that linger in our intestines.

A 'temporary' end is perhaps not too far. China has seen the peak and decline and is almost back to normal. New Zealand also seem to have returned to a virus free environment and I believe South Korea are not far either. In europe it is declining in countries that took early measures and schools/shops are opening over the next few weeks.

Will it return in 6-8 months? Perhaps. In this case countries will probably start to rely more on 'herd immunity' rather than complete shutdowns (see Sweden an example).

Testing capabilities will have increased by then so this might also determine who is allowed to go where.

As mentioned by @notme, if we take influenza as a reference then perhaps a vaccine is the only complete solution, but until it is ready we will probably need to rely on testing and/or herd immunity (isolate vulnerable groups)

Vaccine on a 30 type strain coronavirus , where people have been infected with it and reinfected after being “recovered”. Good luck with that , from the trustable pharma companies.

I keep reading about democrats proposing great ideas. Universal income, $2000 per month to every American for six months. Are these ideas really pssible or democrats are just making big claims? In reality, I haven't even received unemployment yet. Anyway, I really like the idea of universal monthly income. I am sick of the process of finding a new job after every few months.

It's far less expensive than all the bailouts of big companies, and definitely more affordable than all these wars, but politically tricky. There is a fear that if people are offered enough money to survive without working, nobody will work. That seems absurd to me - nobody wants to be useless - but it is a widely held belief.

Seems to me that if people have to be threatened with starvation to be willing to work, we'd be better off without them in those jobs anyway, and they'd be better off doing something less profitable. People who hate their jobs tend to not do them well.

Ya rub (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى), inshallah it will end soon, inshallah before eid. Guys, this is the first time in my whole life I’m stuck at home for almost 2 months, I can’t breath properly, can’t concentrate while studying, I’m sure I’m sick mentally.

You are beginning to experience anxiety bro, its natural. I have noticed that in a few of your posts in covid news thread tbh. Anxiety comes from stress with a little feeling of helplessness. You're not helpless. You have God on your side. Two months at home is nothing you can't handle, make good use of this time. Laugh in the face of these problems. You should check caffeine (and other stimulants) intake, not watch news and just relax. Use deep breaths, 6 deep inhales and 6 complete exhales per minute. When you inhale move your tummy out, don't expand your chest. Everything will be alright.

No one knows when.  In Malaysia, number of new infection gone down significantly.  Many have recovered.  But, it is at high cost to the economy.  Those who die were high risk group and older people.

To start the economy,

1.  Keep the most vunerable groups from exposure to the virus.  The old and high risk individuals stay home (or a designated place) with high precaution.  May take months.  They should not get infected.

2.  The youngs and able individuals can go to works with new working procedures.

3. Health care system must able to takecare of those infected by the virus until they recover.

Covid19 cannot be stopped yet.

It is like a war time where women, children and disable individuals stay at home.  Individuals with able body must go to war. Those who are injured, will be treated behind frontlines   In this case, make sure economy is not at stand still.

If the able body gets infected, the likelihood to recover is very high because covid19 is just a flu.

I dont know whether my above statement will work.  It is just a suggestion.

Pray for the return of our Imam (عليه السلام).  The solution of world problems is with him.

Salam they may hate their job because their job is not in direction with their ability & study but for reasons they don't have better choice than keeping their current job.
