Salam,

If Imam Mahdi really is around, then chances are that he has access to the internet and can visit what is the biggest online "Shia" platform. What do you think he thinks about it?

Thanks

He's in occultation, he's concealed physically but not spiritually. He gets his info from God, especially concerning what his Shias are doing. He's not stumbling upon websites and information.

Isn't the mainstream Shia thought that he is living among us and going through markets and people just don't recognize him?

No, this is Sunni belief, and they don't know if he's alive yet even. I.e. Some random man named Al-Mahdi who will restore peace with Jesus (عليه السلام). Edit: though they have a rough idea of how he would look like and act like through their ahadith <--- which is in itself a problematic belief.

I could swear that mainstream Shia hadiths talk about the Mahdi being among us. Only some believe he's hybernating in a cave somewhere. Maybe someone like @Qa'im  can add hadiths. I can research it myself too

Well, there was minor occultation where Imam Mahdi (عليه السلام) contacted his followers through his four deputies (ar), but now we are in major occultation. Maybe this is the confusion.

Regardless, May Allah hasten the reappearance of Imam al-Mahdi (aj)

Now wait for Q'aim, but I don't believe any of the stories that such and such scholar met him, or such and such person missed their bus, then saw a strange man, etc. You get tales like this for all popular figures. People claim to have seen Elvis, Jesus, etc. I don't believe it. I don't claim it's a lie, but I don't affirm it.

Tales that are hard to believe just weaken faith.

Some people claim Sayed Sistani saw Imam Mahdi (may Allah hasten his reappearance). A reliable source told me that the sayed was asked if he has, and he explicitly said no, and anyone claiming so was a liar. (The no is clear, the last part I do remember but can't confirm if he said anyone claiming was a liar).

You also get complete lies of paralysed individuals being cured by going to shrines. None of that is true. The same myths exist for Christians and Hindus going to temples/Bethlehem.

I thought that was the case too. Even with stories of him helping people

Thanks.

Warning: The comment section is cancer. It is literally all anti-Muslim or anti-Shia. They have no frame of reference for this stuff, so they call it "fairy tales" or "loony/crazy" or reiterate the Sunni position that Imam Mahdi (عليه السلام) isn't even born yet... May God guide the ignorant. For once though, it didn't even make me angry, I just deeply sighed. They see all of this in isolation and don't see the whole picture. They don't see everything that lead up to occultation.

Yes I don't believe in that either. Actually I believe in reincarnation, and that the Mahdi, even if he was around in the past, will return or has returned. In this aspect I'm more in line with the Suni version. And I definitely don't believe that any human sees and hears all things and had godly abilities.

Need? No. But if he's a human like you and me, and he's around, then most likely he knows about shiachat. What do you think he would think about it? The new generation of Shia youth online.

Then it's even possible he might be having his account too here.

One of the responsibilities of Imam (عليه السلام) is to defend the deen of Allah

In Shia chat people of other religion constantly questions the belief of Shias and member here with there limited knowledge try to defend there beliefs which would be surely be making him really happy.

Well, Imam mahdis knowledge is also limited, as only Allah has unlimited knowledge.

But yes, he could have an account, and according to his grandfather sayidna Mohammed, 12 out of 13 Shia groups are going to hell. So being "Shia" is very subjective. And what the Shia majority believe in is probably not accurate if the majority is going to hell, or?

He has the knowledge of unseen with the permission of Allah.

My Shia means the ithna ashari.

Don't compare yourself and normal people with an Imam. They are divine representatives.

This is a Sufi belief. There is no ayah in Qur'an or saying which supports this belief

Read what sixth Shia Imam has said for a Sufi

When Imam Al Sadiq peace be upon him was asked about the Sufis, he said: “they are our enemies. Whoever is inclined to them is of them and will be gathered with them on Judgement Day. There will be people who claim that they love us, but will be inclined to the Sufis, they will resemble them, they will use their titles; they will replicate their words. Whoever is inclined to them is not of us. We reject those ones; whoever denies them and responds to their words will be granted the status of performing Jihad with the Prophet peace be upon him and his family” Safinat Al Bihar by Al Qumi vol 2, page 57.

All of us have knowledge of things up to a certain extent, but everyone including the Prophet himself doesn't know and see everything.

Your Shia, or my Shia, or any Shia are still part of the 13, and we can never know till we die if we are among the people of paradise or hell.

Of course I compare myself and normal people with an Imam, because we follow their way, and try to emulate them. They are in degrees, which can be compared. The only one who can't be compared is Allah.

It's haram. It's a wrongful attribution to God's 'actions'.

describing an action of Allah wrongly is not ascribing partners to Him. Saying that Allah created pink Hummingbirds that speak Chinese isn't shirq.

Why would it be haram to believe that we can be returned to new bodies more than once? Everybody agrees with one reincarnation at least. Don't you believe that we will be reincarnated into new bodies and either go to heaven or hell?

It's called occultation for a reason. Sure, he's (عليه السلام) helping spiritually for those who seek it. But it's our duty to get to the level [in knowledge, spirituality, practice, ethics, justice, etc.] for his (عليه السلام) return, by the will of God.

There is no comparison between your and there knowledge. They were created before Adam (عليه السلام), they taught malaika with the permission of Allah.

Actually there is:

Allah turning bani Israel into swine and apes is one proof.

From the hadiths we have proof from raja3, which is the concept that in the end times certain saints will come back and fight alongside the Mahdi. The same counts for the promise that all who wait for the Mahdi, will be returned in the end days to be along his ranks. This has nothing to do with Sufi, this is Qur'an and hadeeth from ahl bayt.

There are also hadiths that mention how certain animals, such as speckled dogs, are actually human/jinn hybrids, which is another proof. Other animals as well. Please be open to new interpretations. Sufis also believe in one God, and it doesn't make it wrong, just because a Sufi says la ilaha ilallah

I don't believe in infallibility of humans humans, and the word infallibility doesn't even exist in Arabic.

Nor do I believe anybody is perfect other than Allah, and He has no partners.

So you think that you working on yourself can help Mahdi coming? That sounds like it could be true. But what do you think about if he was on this forum, or read what is going on here? What do you think would he think?

Not at all comparable. We are talking about the soul here. The concept of incarnation is explicitly rejected and forbidden in the Qur'an and Ahadith. God does not reincarnate people.

If you want to be pedantic, it is argued that any sin committed is Shirk. It is lack of submission to God, a form of disbelief.

But, what I said is accurate. False attributions to God's Sunnah is shirk. Disbelief in Imamate is shirk, for example. Otherwise, Shia scholars would have never called Sunnis kuffar or munafiq, etc., and vice versa.

It's illogical speculation. Is this the golden 2012 era ShiaChat you wanted to return to?

They have the greatest knowledge in religion, such as Qur'an and the path to Allah. They don't have most knowledge in everything. I doubt that Imam Ali for instance, knew more about Nano technology and genetic engineering, than scientists today. Each person gets what they need to accomplish their task. No human knows everything.

People claim and think they follow Qur'an and ahl bayt but they can never be sure. Even Prophet Mohammed and Imams weren't sure. They had fear of God more than all of us, and were terrified of Allah.

There is comparison between our knowledge because we are I degrees. Degrees can be compared. Only Allah is above degrees or any standard. Their whole purpose is to be compared and to urge to compete with them to closeness to Allah.

Perfect/Infallible as in sinless. Regardless, I didn't even say he was perfect. I said his knowledge of the deen is perfect.

without looking at the thread.

reincarnation means that our souls go into new bodies after we die. That is the Islamic concept. The only difference is that I say it can happen more than once, and you say it only happens once. Again, it has nothing to do with setting up partners. I just say that Allah does things differently.

False attribution to the Sunnah is not shirq. Shirq is partnering. It means setting up partners with Allah. Saying that Allah brings back people more than once isn't really partnering, is it?

In any case, I have described Qur'an and Hadiths to support my case

You are wrong.

Was Imam e jafar e Sadiq (عليه السلام) work only in religion. His student became the father of chemistry. You can imagine what would be his knowledge of science.

People use the same knowledge whose base Imam (عليه السلام) taught wand came to nano Technology. Imam (عليه السلام) in there times were oppressed, killed or poisoned they were not getting enough opportunities to teach people and make people aware of other sciences
