Wanted to mention the life story of this great and brave companion of the Prophet [ (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)].But he is frequently neglected and not appreciated by both Shias and Sunnis despite his high standing being a Badri companion.

-Also known as Awf b Uthatha , or Abu Abdullah

-Born in Makkah from Banu Abdul Muttalib , father uthatha b Abbad and mother was umme Mistah b Abi Ruhm

-He was an early convert to Islam and participated in Badr and the subsequent battles of the Prophet

-He was associated with the incident of Aisha and Safwan and subsequently punished for it

-He was poor and most of his financial support was taken by Abu Bakr , after this incident Abu Bakr cut off financial assistance to him,But God sent down a verse commanding that he continues assistance to Mistha , and thus it was restored. Koran An-Nurr verse 22 The well-off and the opulent among you should not vow that they will not give [any longer] to the relatives and the needy, and to those who have migrated in the way of Allah, and let them excuse and forbear. Do you not love that Allah should forgive you? Allah is all-forgiving, all-merciful.

-I have seen mentioned by ibn hajar, ibn athir and ibn abd birr that Misthah participated in Battle of Siffin on the side of Imam Ali and died after this incident.
