More People + Posts = Less Quality

As time goes by on here it is possible that we are getting more posts + more people on here, with less quality posts and less quality people.

People are forgetting what it means to believe in Shia Islam & Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) because they are following western inclinations and intentions as well as other meaningless speech and empty words.

Nothing is for the sake of Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) and nothing is constructive.

Ask yourself the last time you made a post or made a comment for the sake of Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى), for the sake of gaining something special. Not for the sake of fun, games and play as well as vain talk.

Think about this.

Perhaps if you hang around, you can change that to more quality posts.

I don't think Imam Ali (عليه السلام) would make such sweeping statements.

Correct. I also believe they will simply remove a whole lot of heads this time around without making statements.

Your statement might or might not be correct but the thing is the only person we have control over is ourselves so if I were you and I wanted to see the forum improved I would try to put in my share of good quality posts.

Even if there are not many high quality posts ShiaChat is still a place on web that's free from haram  and even if it's just a social platform for Shias to hang out its still better than Facebook, Twitter and instagram.

This is a very generalizing statement. No one can know the intentions of another person.

I agree with you. Every action of ours should be for the sake of Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى). We should actively strive for turning every moment of our lives into an act of worship.

That is actually quite correct and is true all over the Internet.

Look at Twitter, Facebook, and all the rest of them

As far as I am concerned, Islam actually discourages too much talk.

So you  do have a point there.

Brother, that is not entirely true.

The proportion of useful material to the total may not always be very high.

But some of the discussions are surely useful and constructive.

People are forgetting what it means to believe . . .

Some of this shows how little some of us do not study or only parrot a marja or Qur'an.

That is partially true, do we have control over people? No, we do not control but ourselves. Also eastern culture is just as frivolous and perverse as western culture, technically speaking we should be following Islamic culture.

What do you mean by this? If I were you, I would refrain from strange statements like this.

Have you seen the Salawat thread? Have you participated in Sunni Shia discussions? If one were most of their time in the Off Topic thread, I could see how they might come to the same conclusion as you. This is an unfair  generalization.

Think about this, ShiaChat has been around since 1998. Surely, they must be doing something right.

Actually, I’m sorry to say the number of new topics and posts has been declining for years.

Quality, however, is subjective.

Ahlul Bayt (عليه السلام) don't make sweeping statements. Their guidance is delivered through their beautiful, inclusive and welcoming Akhlaq. :)

SubhanAllah.

And with this, I think the brother's purpose with this thread becomes clearer. Or at least I can understand more clearly what sort of posts / threads he has been referring to.

Think about this.

Thank you for sharing the verse and narrations.

I believe you'll find it very difficult to provide evidence of the Qur'an or the Imams (عليه السلام) addressing groups with the generalisations and sweeping statements that you addressed this group with.

Point being, there are better ways for you to invite people to the path of Allah Ta'ala.

I have quoted my references.

And here are more references.

The Qur'an says most people are astray, Imam Jaffar al Sadiq (عليه السلام) said do not follow the common people and Imam Ali (عليه السلام) do not follow the majority follow the truth.

You can be average and go to an average place in the hereafter or you can be sabiqoun in aamel which is much greater as the Holy Qur'an mentions:

Then We have given the Book for inheritance to such of Our Servants as We have chosen: but there are among them some who wrong their own souls; some who follow a middle course; and some who are, by Allah's leave, foremost in good deeds; that is the highest Grace.

Salaam Alakuim,

@yashia, I hope this doesn't come across as negative and apologies in advance if it does, but would you mind making a post that you would consider the standard? I am truly curious what it would look like.

Never in the history of Islam have results been a deciding factors, it's always been the efforts made in the way of Allah(سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى)

Exactly. "Efforts". The brother yashia has also made an effort. As for results, many have already agreed that the quality has very considerably hit an all time low here on ShiaChat. If his effort is crude and not sugar coated then that is also true. Someone calling others to salvation is not something new. No one should take offense, rather people should try to understand, so the effort is not wasted. For their own sake.

I want to ask you guys, is not the cement of Shiachat which binds us all nothing but the Shia religion? Its the same 1400 years old or rather the timeless religion which God practices Himself. It did not change over time and Its not going to change. It keeps us all together here.

We log on here only to meet other Shia of Ali (عليه السلام). There are and will always be certain expectations.

Think about it.

Ever considered that this is because ShiaChat has become so male dominated? What was the last post made by a woman? I guarantee you it has more substance than the oh-so-important threads created by the men.

I just wanted to say that I haven't replied on here as there was a narration I wanted to find however I couldn't find it. It was from the words of Imam Ali (عليه السلام) about management.

It said how we should reward good doers and we should do the opposite for evil doers as doing the opposite or treating the evil doers the same as the good doers will cause an equilibrium of bad in the society as the good people will no longer feel motivated to do good.

Another reason why I have made this thread is I don't want people to follow their desires that are freely accessible in our time and aim to be very average in faith and in the hereafter. There are many narrations about the time we live in and I want you all to look at the narration where Imam Ali (عليه السلام) said peoples families will even encourage their children to sin and his companions were very shocked.

I agree with @starlight about the narration of being nice and moderate and easy going with people. I want everyone however to also realise different matters require various responses there are also narrations that say a believer is cautious in his lenience and when leniency is unsuitable then harshness becomes lenience.

May Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) help us all including me become able to balance all these hadiths out and know when, where and how to use them all.

والاخر دعوانا الحمد الله رب العالمين

اللهم صل على سيدنا محمد وآل الطاهرين

A quick translation of the OPs words:

'May Allah curse you too'

'And more'

'May Allah deal with you all and curse you all'

'May Allah destroy you all'

I'm glad the OP took my suggestion and did not end his foul abuse with a Salawat lol
