Advanced Member Moalfas Posted December 30, 2019 Advanced Member Report Posted December 30, 2019 I've been following these fires for some time and it's becoming more and more worrying across NSW and Victoria. There's news that thousands of Koalas have died! Apparently 30% of the population in NSW. Unregistered AkhiraisReal Posted December 30, 2019 Unregistered Report Posted December 30, 2019 Sometimes it's not the heat that starts the fire, it could be private/public interests that starts these fires to achieve some financial/political ends we don't understand. Advanced Member Moalfas Posted January 10, 2020 Author Advanced Member Report Posted January 10, 2020 Smoke from bushfires in Australia has drifted across the Pacific and affected cities in South America, and may have reached the Antarctic, the UN World Meteorological Organization said on Tuesday. Smoke from the fires had already turned skies bright orange over Auckland in New Zealand. But skies as far away as over central Chile have now gone grey because of the smoke and the WMO cited reports that the sunset in Argentina’s capital, Buenos Aires, had turned red. https://www.theguardian.com/Australia-news/2020/jan/07/australian-bushfire-smoke-drifts-to-south-america-un-reports Quote

The contiguous land of the lower 48 states is about exactly the size of Australia, which would be the equivalent of the State of Indiana being burned. And the 'normal' fire seaon down there started this week. Moalfas 1 Quote
