I really need help with plurals (Madinah book 1 lesson 13)

Hello, I've been tearing my hair out over Arabic plurals. I understand how they work, I understand that there are patterns used to identify them, but what nobody is saying is how to know just how a noun is part of X pattern. Can I see a noun I don't know and be able to tell what pattern it's a part of? Can I see a noun and know if it's broken or unbroken?

When I say patterns I am referring to what's taught in this video. An example of a pattern is at 10:15

Any advice would be appreciated. I just need clarity, even if it's "There is no way to identify its pattern, you have to learn it for each noun." Resident Arabic expert, @Ibn Al-Ja'abi , I am in need of help.

Some nouns have multiple plurals and you just have to know the patterns. Let me explain what I mean by that. You will figure out what plural goes with what noun. It will just sound right.
like غني will have أغنياء similarity نبي will have أنبياء but also has نبيّون so by Seinfeld the original word you’ll know.

with the Medina books there’s 40 hadiths you must memorize with grammatical points and this lesson is covered in them if I remember correctly.

sorry couldn’t be of help. I never learnt Arabic academically just traditionally the old school way. So a lot of my stuff is instinctive.

I think I found the answer I was looking for, and unfortunately it wasn't was I was hoping for. It seems that yes you have to learn the noun's pattern for each word :(

Just like every time you learn a new VERB you should learn it in its past, present and masdar form,

So also, every time you learn a new NOUN you should learn it in its plural form as well (especially if it has an irregular plural form).

This such an old topic.  not even sure why this was brought up again.  :(
