I've had some medicine with a very high percentage of ethanol, it was not by choice and I had to take it. I didn't know what else that I had to do in that situation. What should I do? I had a small amount so im not intoxicated, can I still pray?

do a 100push then run a few miles. you should sweat it all off then have a shower. then you shall be clean of this evil poison.

or

stop being a slave and grow up. Learn to think for your self.

Question is - are you asking us to tell you whether to give you an excuse not to pray because you are not feeling up to it?.

Even if one were to do haraam intentionally it would be better to carry on as normal, because abstaining from something as the period dicates, which is of 40 days would ingrain a habit far worse. The 40 is to create fear, guilt and remorse to change course to the right direction.

So you're saying I drank alcohol out of my own will and am using it as an excuse to not pray? Okay then.

Ignore him, clearly by the tone of his post he is not to be taken seriously.

If I understand correctly you consumed medicine, not liquor. This has been adressed by sayed al Sistani: Link

There is no issue, inshaAllah.

Monad is probably one of the biggest trolls on shiachat. Anyone who approves his posts is probs half asleep.

No, his tone is just pure serious. People just feel offended by the truth and try shoving it to the side, until they find the "truth" they want to hear.

I didn't know you guys were both smarted than Seyyed Sistani, mashallah. Can I make taqlid of you?

Question: What about using the families of alcohol that are synthesized from petroleum and are used in perfume, medicine etc are they Najis and cannot be used during prayer?

Answer: All kinds of alcohol (whether extracted from wood or other sources) are Tahir (ritually pure), and are not permissible to drink, except for wine which is also Najis, and Beer (Maa al-Sha'eir) which is also Najis (ritually impure) as an obligatory precaution..
So, the medicines and the perfumes containing alcohol are pure and can be used.
It is also permissible to eat such food if the amount of alcohol is very minute, e.g., 2%, except for wine.

Brother, where did I state who is more knowledgeable.

Monad stated " Even if one were to do haraam intentionally it would be better to carry on as normal, because abstaining from something as the period dicates, which is of 40 days would ingrain a habit far worse. The 40 is to create fear, guilt and remorse to change course to the right direction."

Which is possibly the best advice this person could have recieved. It is also similar to what your Syed said.

Additionally, I'm still too young, unstable and no where near knowledgeable enough to have followers yet. I will have to decline your offer.

The thing is the OP didn't do anything Haram, it's not that he did something Haram and he should carry on normally, it's that he did Halal and is completely fine and should carry on normally.

Inshallah you become knowledgeable enough someday, and stable (whatever you mean by this, I won't ask), and maybe study enough to have people follow you. Do you plan on attending Hawza in the future?

Brother, I know. I think my wording was wrong and caused an issue. I was agreeing with what Monad and what Syed Sistani said, they linked up and sounded similar in my head.

Inshallah, and Hawza, need to be mentally stable to go do something like that.

As salaamun aleikum rahmatullah,

I don’t have the source right now, but to the best of my knowledge, drinking an impermissable form  of alcohol intentionally does not exempt a  person from praying for 40 days, rather, they are still obligated/it is wajib to offer the prayers, except they don’t count or work to "grow your soul" as they would if the person hadnt consumed the alcohol.

Prayer is always wajib on us, and there is no excuse not to offer it as not offering it for 40 days would do more harm than good. The only time it is forbidden for us to pray regarding the alcohol subject is while we are still under the intoxifying effects of it, which wouldnt last for more than 24 hours AT THE MOST, so only for as long as youre still "buzzed".

As someone else mentioned, the "40 days" is meant to produce remorse and regret in us, especially when we know that even though we are going through all the wajib actions and burdens of prayer, they are not counting in the same way...this knowledge also helps act as a deterent for someone who may be considering and contemplating drinking, yet remember that for the proceding 40 days their prayer will not be beneficial to them, yet they must still do it.

Alright, I guess it's a misunderstanding then, sorry.
