A protest against Islam organized by the far-right group 'Stop Islamization of Norway' (SIAN) took a violent turn after the group's leader Lars Thorsen tried to burn a copy of the holy Qur'an, leading to a brawl between the leader and the counter-protesters.

According to IBTimes, the incident took place on Saturday in the Norwegian city of Kristianland. The anti-Islam rally organized by SIAN was allowed by the local authorities. But the police warned against desecration of the holy Qur'an, after the group expressed its intent to do so.

In a video that has surfaced online, Thorsen is seen flicking the book aside, when a man approaches him aggressively, grabs him and tries to kick him. It is when the police intervened to stop the brawl.

Its just the resistance to the eventual worldwide spread of Islam.

At this point, its inevitable that Islam takes over the West. These are just the people that are fighting back through fear and desperation. The 22nd Century will see Islam as the world's dominant religion.

I am not really agree with you for two reasons.

First most Muslims in West are Sunnis (even if in some countries à good Shia minority exist).

Secondly I saw myself many Muslims in West becoming very secularized sometime at a point that some of them are litteraly Muslims only by name.

At the end maybe you are right but only Allah knows.

As entertaining as I found the slow mo of the action in the clip, I think we as Muslims ought to focus more on the fact that innocent blood is being spilt in our name, in the name of Islam, the Qur'an and Allah sub.

Yes, the physical print of the holy Qur'an is sacred, but in Allah's words: killing one innocent Nafs is as if one kills all of humanity.

Maybe if we focused our energy more on attacking the disease we have within us, there would be less of an excuse for outsiders to burn the Qur'an?

YES! And people wonder why religion is no longer appealing.

They’ll always be an excuse somewhere.

Ahlul Bayt was perfect and they still got targeted.

In the aftermath of a Qur'an desecration incident in Norway, three Muslim organizations will distribute thousands of free copies of the Holy Book to Norwegians in an attempt to prevent future instances.

Ahlul Bayt News Agency (ABNA): In the aftermath of a Qur'an desecration incident in Norway, three Muslim organizations will distribute thousands of free copies of the Holy Book to Norwegians in an attempt to prevent future instances.

According to the newspaper Vårt Land, the three organizations- Norwegian Muslim Arts and Culture Association, the Islamic Literature Association and the Minhaj-ul-Qur'an Mosque - together will distribute a total of 10,000 copies of the Qur'an with Norwegian translation to the citizens.

The religious community has stands at various places in Oslo, the capital, where they will distribute the Qurans.

It is in response to the burning of a copy of the Qur'an by SIAN (Stop Islamization of Norway) during a demonstration that took place just over two weeks ago in the Muslim-populated city of Kristiansand.

The Qur'an burning incident drew worldwide condemnation, and Turkey, Pakistan, Iran formally denounced it.

Norwegian Muslims have also organized a Holy Qur'an recitation event in the street to spread tolerance and mercy of Islam.
