Not surprised that the Iranians don't want foreigners influencing their public opinion.

I am also pretty much against foreigners influencing British politics. Unfortunately the political party we have in power relies on them and won't take action.

I think this is a case of Iran trying to keep something from getting out not in.

So only political parties rely on them? Business/ banks/ universities / medical centers/ hospitals don’t rely on them? Well I hope there is complete shut down of UK internet during elections for a week or two... without prior notice.

Intelligence Ministry announced that its forces have nabbed main figures of an anti-revolutionary network who were planning to provoke unrest in the country.

Ahlul Bayt News Agency (ABNA): Intelligence Ministry announced that its forces have nabbed main figures of an anti-revolutionary network who were planning to provoke unrest in the country.

In a statement on Tuesday, the ministry noted that the circle had been planning to create unrest on December 7, concurrent with national students’ day, in universities of Tehran and other cities.

“This network intended to extend the protests of University of Tehran’s students on gasoline rationing to outside the university and trigger disturbance; but the plot was foiled thanks to the vigilance of committed students and related organizations,” reads the statement.

Some of the individuals related to this network have been identified and further information will be announced to the public after official proceedings are carried out, the statement added.

Salam it depends on the Iranian ISP few of them allow access to shiachat but majority of them don't allow access to it because they recognize it's sever as a Pakistani server because of that they are blocking it in Iran.

@Revert1963  to go with the video's theme, on the radio this afternoon,ABC News Radio reported that "over 1,000 people were killed" last month.EDIT: l found that this is "announced" by the US State Dept according to Middle East Monitor -end Edit

Some of the props with twitted feeds should be shown longer so they could be read.

One point of disagreement: at 19:08 where he says 40 years ago there were no signs of the end, ln the Sahih Sunnah there is hadith that one sign/observation will be when 'cattlemen' compete to build the highest buildings. This happened in New York in the 1920s and people made this observation.

Intelligence Ministry dismisses rumors of arresting Basij forces

https://en.abna24.com/news//intelligence-ministry-dismisses-rumors-of-arresting-basij-forces_991703.html

Ahlul Bayt News Agency (ABNA): Iranian Judiciary, the Intelligence Ministry, the Law Enforcement Police, and the Intelligence Department of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IDIRGC) all rejected a claim by BBC, a notorious anti-Iran media, that 10 Basij members have been arrested for charges in quelling the recent riots.

BBC Persia claimed an unnamed source as saying on the condition of anonymity that 10 members of Basij (volunteer) forces had been arrested overnight in Southwestern Tehran in connection with the recent cases of riots in Iran.

An hour later the Judiciary, the Intelligence Ministry, the Law Enforcement Police, and the IDIRGC all dismissed the claim.

BBC Persia continues anti-Iran propaganda after decades of operation.

In 1953, the British government used the BBC Persian service for advancing its propaganda against the legal government of Prime Minister Mohammed Mosaddeq in favor of strengthening the monarchical rule of the dethroned King, Mohammed Reza Pahlavi.

In a documentary Cinematograph aired on 18 August 2011 on the anniversary of the coup, the BBC admitted for the first time to the role of BBC Persian radio as the propaganda arm of the British government in Iran. The Cinematograph narrator said, "The British government used the BBC Persian radio for advancing its propaganda against Mosaddeq and anti-Mosaddeq material were repeatedly aired on the radio channel to the extent that Iranian staff at the BBC Persian radio went on strike to protest the move."

The documentary quoted a 21 July 1951 classified document in which a Foreign Office official thanked the British ambassador for his proposals that were precisely followed by the BBC Persian radio to strengthen its propaganda against Mosaddeq: "The BBC had already made most of the points which you listed, but they were very glad to have an indication from you of what was likely to be most effective and will arrange their program accordingly... We should also avoid direct attacks on the 'ruling classes' since it seems probable that we may want to deal with a government drawn from those classes should Mosaddeq fall."

On Wednesday, Lieutenant Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi underlined that none of the IRGC and Basij forces who stood against the outlaws in the recent riots were armed.

"In the recent incidents, not even one of the IRGC and Basij forces was carrying weapons. We went to the towns without arms while there were many weapons pointed at us," Rear Admiral Fadavi said, addressing a forum in Tehran.

He, meantime, said the IRGC and Basij were keeping arms at their bases as usual and when the rioters attacked them, the IRGC and Basij forces defended themselves.

"But in the streets, we controlled everything comprehensively. Even we had live contacts with all parts of the country and received all images (live)," Rear Admiral Fadavi said.

Iran's Judiciary Spokesman Gholam Hossein Esmayeeli said on Tuesday that armed rioters and outlaws wounded and killed a number of people and policemen during the recent unrests after the protest rallies against the gasoline rationing.

"It is confirmed that a considerable number of people have been killed by the outlaws and many officers who were trying to establish order have also been wounded by the weapons of these outlaws too," Esmayeeli told reporters in a press conference in Tehran.

He, meantime, said that the number of individuals killed in the recent riots is less than what some foreign parties claim, "as they name people who have died in other incidents that are different from the recent riots and many of those people claimed to be killed are alive".

Esmayeeli said arson attacks and plundering the banks and stores and killing of innocent people and police officers were all carried out by the hooligans who were affiliated to the anti-revolutionary and dissident groups and were supported by the foreign spy agencies.

He underlined that the judiciary differentiates between the protestors against the gasoline prices and the outlaws, adding that most of the detained people during the recent unrests have been freed.

"300 people are still in detention in Tehran," Esmayeeli said, adding that the number is still to decrease.

In relevant remarks on Monday, Head of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps' Public Relations Department and IRGC Spokesman Brigadier General Ramezan Sharif said rioters that destroyed public and private properties in the recent unrests in Iran were utilizing complex tools and instruments.

"The outlaws used the most equipped tools and most professional methods in the recent sedition," General Sharif said, addressing a forum in the Central city of Arak.

"The enemies are seeking to make up [for their failure] after every success Iran earns," General Sharif said.

Iranian Government Spokesman Ali Rabiyee announced last Monday that rioters used cold weapons and firearms during unrests in some cities and towns, killing and wounding a number of police forces.

"Based on reports, the rioters have repeatedly used cold weapons and firearms in some cities," Rabiyee told reporters in a press conference in Tehran.

Also, Commander of the Law Enforcement Police in Kurdistan province Brigadier General Ali Azadi announced that his forces had arrested 25 ringleaders of the recent riots, and seized 3 rifles from them.

"25 ringleaders and main culprits behind the riots in the two cities of Marivan and Sanandaj have been detained in coordination with the judicial officials and 3 firearms and some cold weapons have been discovered and seized from them," General Azadi said on Sunday.

Late last month, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani said that Tehran had successfully thwarted an attempt by a small group of foreign-backed rioters to set oil facilities on fire in the iconic Persian Gulf port city of Assaluyeh, adding that the attack was meant to be in retaliation for Yemenis’ bombardment of the Saudi oil sites in September.

He added that during the recent unrests in the country, which came after the government’s decision to substantially increase the gas price, some rioters tried to attack the iconic Persian Gulf port city of Assaluyeh in the South of Iran.

“The attack on Assaluyeh had been planned by the enemy,” according to Shamkhani.

Innocent victims of recent riots considered as 'martyrs'

Iran's Foundation of Martyrs and Veterans Affairs announced in a statement that the victims of the recent riots, who had no role in them, are considered martyrs based on the Leader's guidelines.

In response to the letter of the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said On Wednesday: “Deal with the suspicious individuals in any group with an approach that is close to ‘Islamic compassion' principle.”

Ali Shamkhani had submitted a report to Ayatollah Khamenei, proposing ideas for handling the situation of those killed or injured during the recent violent unrest in Iran.

The Leader said that "ordinary citizens who didn't play any role in the protest but were caught in the middle of the clashes and lost their lives should be considered as martyrs" and called on the relevant authorities to put their families under the protection of the Foundation of Martyrs and Veterans.

On the situation of those who lost their lives during armed clashes with the security forces, Ayatollah Khamenei called for investigating the history and background of their families, separating honorable families from those who were involved in criminal acts.

The Leader further called on the authorities to sympathize with the families of those victims who were not involved in criminal activities.

On dealing with families of the third group, who look suspicious of doing evil activities, the Leader called for treating them based on the ‘Islamic compassion' principle.

Imam Khamenei urges

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei called on the country's judicial authorities on Wednesday to act with “Islamic mercy” with those who were involved in the recent riots that followed a sharp rise in petrol prices.

Ahlul Bayt News Agency (ABNA):
"The faster these cases are considered, the better and those who are suspected of being close to any group should be dealt with in a way that is closer to Islamic mercy," replied Ayatollah Khamenei to a report by Iran’s Supreme National Security Council about the recent unrest in the country.

According to the Supreme Leader, citizens that were caught in crossfire and riots and died without playing any role in instigating them will be regarded as “martyrs” and their families should be covered by the Foundation of Martyrs and Veterans Affairs.

Ayatollah Khamenei also instructed officials to pay compensation to the families of those who were killed in the demonstrations and unrest in any form and to give advice to their families.

Supreme Leader, meantime, urged the authorities to first inspect and study background and family history of those who were killed in shootouts with security forces and then console those families that have never had any criminal backgrounds.

Russian FM blames US' policies for recent unrest in Iran

Russian FM blames US' policies for recent unrest in Iran

Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called US’ destabilizing policies the main reason behind the recent unrest in Iran.

“These problems were caused by the US since it unilaterally imposed sanctions on Iran, withdrew from JCPOA but forces all the parties including Iran to comply with the deal.”
“I do not even know how to describe the issue,” he said, “it is a surrealistic approach.
Americans prevent everyone from implementing the UN security council resolution, the one they have invalidated.”

The US seeks to create economic conditions in Iran to make Iranians discontent and we have seen the same plan implemented in Venezuela, he added.

The Russian official reiterated that his country still believes in holding talks to resolve the problems.

Iran slams Germany's 'irresponsible, meddling' stance on riots

Ahlul Bayt News Agency (ABNA): Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Seyyed Abbas Mousavi has condemned “interventionist” and “irresponsible” comments made by German Foreign Minister Heiko Mass regarding the recent riots in Iran.

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Seyyed Abbas Mousavi has condemned “interventionist” and “irresponsible” comments made by German Foreign Minister Heiko Mass regarding the recent riots in Iran.

In a statement on Thursday, Mousavi said such irresponsible and meddlesome remarks cannot remedy the negligence of certain European countries in fulfilling their commitments under the JCPOA and their passive stance towards the US economic terrorism against Iran.

“The world public opinion has not yet forgotten the country that armed former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein with chemical warfare, which was used against Iranians and their Iraqi neighbours during the war imposed (1980–88) on Iran,” he added.

Mousavi said the world still remembers how German riot police suppressed protesters on the eve of the two-day G20 summit in Hamburg back in July 2017, and how weapons are being funneled by some European states to the Middle East, where they have brought about nothing other than war crimes, destruction and massacre of women and innocent children as seen in Yemen.

“Berlin is expected to put honouring the fundamental principles of human rights on its agenda discreetly, comprehensively and neutrally, instead of taking unprofessional and biased positions,” he added.

Mousavi further underlined the Iranian government’s resolve to hear the different views and opinions of its people, and said, “The Islamic Republic of Iran sharply distinguishes enemies, those behind the murder of innocent people and their foreign sponsors from protesters during the recent unrest and riots in the country.”

“Based on the results of its probes and investigations, the country will make the necessary decisions in a bid to respect the Iranian people’s rights and ensure sustainable security,” he added.

Tehran’s provisional Friday prayers leader criticized the government for having failed to implement the rationing of subsidized gasoline and increasing fuel prices in a gradual manner.

Ahlul Bayt News Agency (ABNA): Tehran’s provisional Friday prayers leader criticized the government for having failed to implement the rationing of subsidized gasoline and increasing fuel prices in a gradual manner.

“A calamity occurred due to a wrong decision that led to the death and injury of several people and damage to some part of the country,” Ayatollah Mohammed Ali Movahhedi Kermani said in an address to Tehran’s Friday sermon, in reference to the Nov. 13 unrest across the country following protests against the sudden hike in gasoline prices.

He criticized Rouhani’s administration for having failed to take the necessary precautions, adding “decisions must be taken gradually. People should have been first informed and convinced before the decision took effect. The sudden implementation of the decision upset the people who had been weary of inflation.”

He further advised the government to address the inflation with effective solutions.

December 12, 2019 - 4:39 PM News Code : 993376 Source : MehrLink:

Secretary of Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Rear Admiral Ali Shamkhani said it is "certain" that some adversaries had carried out "killing plots" in western parts of Tehran during the the recent unrest.

Ahlul Bayt News Agency (ABNA):
He made the remarks in his visit to the western cities of Tehran province on Thursday and during the meeting with the families of those killed in the recent unrest following the hike in gasoline prices.

More than 85 percent of victims of the recent unrest in cities of Tehran province had not taken part in any of the protests and had been killed with non-organizational warm and cold weapons in a very suspicious manner, secretary of SNSC said, highlighting that this confirms that some adversaries had carried out "killing plots".

Gov't targets were not limited to MSA, Michigan universities and so on.

@Ashvazdanghe If this is the case, then why doesn't the IRI shut down foreign satellite communications and other networks that are said to be influencing Iranian youth?

Why do the youth not believe the official history? Is there something “wrong” with education in the IRI? I am merely curious.

IRGC arrests armed rioters in Iran’s Mahshahr

In a statement on Monday, the IRGC office in Khuzestan Province said the main elements behind the shootings at ordinary people and police forces during last month’s unrest in Bandar Mahshahr have been arrested in accurate and smart operations and in coordination with the Judiciary.

According to the statement, the peaceful protests that erupted in Mahshahr in the wake of an increase in the fuel price turned violent after rioters got involved.

The armed elements prevented the delivery of basic commodities to Bandar Mahshahr and even stopped the trucks carrying goods to different parts of Iran, the IRGC said, noting that the armed elements killed and wounded a number of security and police forces as well as civilians.

Envoy to London slams Reuters for ‘fake news’ about Iran’s unrest

“Based on an old-fashioned policy, some media outlets make a lie colossal to make it believable,” Baeidinejad said on his Twitter account on Tuesday night.

The Reuters report that claims 1,500 people were killed in recent events and attributes the violence to the leadership of the Establishment is an example of such reports,” he added.

“Even Amnesty International, which has sought to exaggerate the unconfirmed death toll, said about 300 people were killed,” the envoy wrote.

…In its fake news, Reuters points to the killing of hundreds of women in the recent incidents while the presence of women in the demonstrations was low,” Baeidinejad went on to say.

It is very questionable when a foreign media outlet with no correspondents or office in Iran claims to know the exact number of people killed in recent protests in the country, the envoy added.

Reuters claimed in a Monday report that “About 1,500 people were killed during less than two weeks of unrest (in Iran) that started on November 15, including at least 17 teenagers and about 400 women as well as some members of the security forces and police.”

Reuters claimed that the figures had been provided “by three Iranian interior ministry officials,” without further elaboration or naming any of them.

Imam Khamenei warns of plot to consign Revolution symbols to oblivion

Imam Khamenei warns of plot to consign Revolution symbols to oblivion

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei warned about a hostile and sinister plot to consign the symbols of the Islamic Revolution to oblivion.

In a Thursday meeting with members of a committee tasked with holding a congress to commemorate martyrs of the southern province of Hormozgan, Ayatollah Khamenei said virtues like courage and defending the righteousness have been institutionalized in the province.

“Commemorating martyrs is a necessary job and a duty of all of us, because a villainous policy and move is underway with the purpose of consigning the symbols of the Revolution, particularly jihad and martyrdom, to oblivion, and such a policy must be countered,” Ayatollah Khamenei stressed.

Martyrs, regardless of their age or education, are symbols of devotion and preparedness to sacrifice their lives for defending the truth, the Leader added, calling for efforts to familiarize the youth with such precious symbols and role models.

In December 2018, Ayatollah Khamenei cautioned about the enemy’s plots to damage spiritual values in Iran, saying, “The enemies’ onslaught at the spiritual level is much more dangerous and troubling than the ones at the level of ordinary issues, hard attacks and the like.”

The Leader underscored, though, that the hostile attempts to damage the spiritual values will end in failure in the same way that the “hard war and hard pressures” against Iran resulted in failure.

In January 2018, Ayatollah Khamenei warned that the enemies have mobilized all efforts to harm the Islamic Republic, saying the fact is that the enemy has been always seeking to find an opportunity to infiltrate into Iran and harm the Iranian nation.

The Leader described the Iranian nation’s courage, devotion and faith as the main factors in warding off the hostile moves.

‎9 Dey, symbol of insight, covenant of ummah with Imam Khomeini

Ayatollah Arafi said that the 9th of Dey is the symbol of the the insight and covenant of the ‎ummah with the late Imam Khomeini and said, “The Iranian nation will demonstrate its glory ‎on the 9th of Dey, the 22nd of Bahman and February 21st.” ‎

In his Friday prayer sermon to a large and fervent crowd of believers at ‎Qom’s ‎Qods ‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎Prayer Hall, Ayatollah Alireza Arafi referred to the fortieth anniversary of the literacy ‎movement in Iran and stated, “The literacy movement was started by the late Imam ‎Khomeyni in 1979 and within forty years the literacy rate of the country has risen from 47% ‎to almost 90% and for those below 50 years of age, the literacy rate is 98%.”‎

The head of the Islamic Seminaries of Iran commemorated the 9th of Dey [December 30th] ‎epic, which marks the day when millions of people went to the streets on December 30, ‎‎2009 to demonstrate their support for the Islamic establishment, and described this epic as ‎a symbol of the insight and covenant of the ummah with the late Imam and said, “In 2009, ‎we faced an act of sedition that inflicted great damage on the country. The story began here ‎and brought the principle of the election under question and there were allegations of fraud, ‎a claim they could never prove.”‎
‎ ‎
He said, “Over the past forty years, various political factions and groups have come and ‎gone but it was unacceptable for anyone, through spite or deceit, to claim that there were ‎ten million fraudulent votes in 2009. The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution ‎‎[Ayatollah Khamenei] raised the banner of defending the popular vote.”‎
‎ ‎
Ayatollah Arafi noted, “If we question the elections and fail to submit to the law at all stages, ‎we will become a country that must always be at war. Iranian people mark anniversary of 2009 pro-gov't rallies

Iranian people across the country poured to the streets on Monday to commemorate the tenth anniversary of mass rallies held on December 30, 2009, to protect the Islamic Republic against the US-backed regime-change plans.

People in Tehran and other cities gathered in the streets, mosques and Mosalla prayers grounds to show allegiance to the Islamic Republic and Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei.

They chanted slogans to support Velayat Faqih (Guardianship of the Islamic Jurist) and against the US, Israel and Britain which played a pivotal role in the 2009 unrests in Iran and carried placards reading 'death to the seditionists' and 'economic sedition, enemy's new weapon'.

At the end of the rallies, they issued a resolution which called on all people to participate in the upcoming parliamentary elections in Iran, urged stronger unity among the three branches of power and asked the government to make utmost efforts to obviate the problems of inflation, high prices and unemployment, show more vigilance when signing international agreements and never be afraid of enemies' threats.

They also stressed the necessity for reliance on the internal capacities and implementation of the economy of resistance amid enemies' pressures and sanctions.

The ralliers, meantime, condemned the US Sunday attack on the positions of Hashd al-Shaabi (Iraqi popular forces) and the hostile behavior of the Nigerian government towards detained Shiite leader Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky who is suffering acute health problems, calling for his immediate release.
