#IranProtests is trending on twitter.

Many anti- Islamic Republic activists are posting suspicious videos. I feel like many of them are faked. Any thoughts? Can anyone in Iran comment?

This might be the reason why they are not coming up:

Though I sympathize to why they've shut it down. Thousands of propaganda items are being pushed into Iran right now, not to mention the puppet spy groups inside Iran which are fueling the protests and receiving orders through the internet.

Remember the Arab Spring?  The US State Department led the way in developing and teaching communications that bypass the grids. Now high altitude drone links -like satellite links- are also used.

l nearly always have the same problem @Shia farm girl.

Remember, all reporting on ShiaChat, BBC, dw.com, and so on, report lnternet and social media services are shut down.

Yet, multiple "killings" are reported here:

https://www.kurdistan24.net/en/news/7d416328-c7e2-4e59-9c0d-c28086b01e93  -which reads like it is the Kurds being singled out.

France24, tass.com and voanews.com have no reporting at this time.

Protesting government corruption isn't the same thing as wanting to topple the Islamic republic. And raising the fuel prices in order to support the poor is like feeding the the dog with its own tail. It was the same that led to the yellow vest protests in France. It would have made more sense to make a progressive tax on the rich people in the northern suburbs of Tehran. So Sistani may have a point. But it is not unproblematic in the current situation where so man outside forces want to see the end of the Islamic Republic.

Disagree because the cash-handouts are for the poor  which is more than they will spend on fuel if they have a car, not all of these 18 million people do.

Oh my God, what happened to Iran now? First Iraq, then Lebanon and now Iran?

Lebanon’s al-Akhbar newspaper disclosed that Saudi Arabia had handed a plot to the administration of US President Donald Trump to stir unrest in Tehran, Baghdad and Beirut. It shows that the three countries of Iran, Iraq and Lebanon are the main targets of the project which is aimed at stimulating the public opinion through the media in order to instigate street protests which would finally weaken the central government.

Trust Fars news agency or press tv to give you a balanced view lol

They're just as bias as the Saudi funded Al Arabiya or the US funded Al Hurra. They focus solely on pushing the agenda that serves their respective interests.

Press tv didn't even cover the Iranian protests until they had footage of protestors acting stupid and damaging public and private property.

No doubt these protests will be used by Iranian and outside forces to weaken the government.

Suggesting that it's an absolute US/Zionist/KSA conspiracy is stupid because it was the Iranian government that decided to cut the subsidies on fuel at this point in time. Not 'outside, enemy, anti revolution forces'.

What's different about these protests compared to the ones before, is that there's already a revolt against Iranian influence in Lebanon and Iraq. Also, I haven't previously witnessed Iranians burning their leader's posters in public, let alone calling out 'down with the dictator' or burning the statue of the ring of Sayed Khomeini, burning police stations and Basij buildings etc

A simple YouTube search of Iran protests will show the above and much more.

The situation is worrying to say the least and the heavy handed response by Iranian law enforcement will only complicate things.

Not much that needs figuring out really..

These are just some of the many videos that have surfaced the last couple of days and even though a lot of them are posted by 'anti revolution' sources, the content of the videos speaks for itself.

The fact that Iran felt the need to shut down the internet points to a serious probelm, as serious as the Iraqi one as they also have been shutting down the internet to maintain control.

Instead of defending thugs, EU should meet commitments to Iran: Spokesman

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Seyyed Abbas Mousavi condemned recent moves by some European Union officials to interfere in the internal affairs of the Islamic Republic and said instead of defending the “thugs”, the EU should meet its commitments to the Iranian nation.

“What should be addressed first and foremost regarding Iran is that Europe should be held accountable for not honoring its commitments under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and for backing the US sanctions and economic terrorism against the Iranian nation…,” said Mousavi.

Instead of making meddlesome remarks and defending “the thugs and vandalists” in Iran, the EU should meet its JCPOA commitments, he noted.

Iranians hold pro-govt., anti-rioting rallies in several cities

People rally in the northwestern Iranian city of Tabriz on November 19, 2019 to denounce the acts of violence, which have been staged across the country under the pretext of protest at increase in the price of fuel.

The rallies in Tabriz were launched from the city’s Prayer Grounds and led the participants to the central Sa’at Square. The demonstrators shouted such slogans as “Protest is the people’s right, [but] disturbance is the enemy’s doing,” “Submitting to the Leader is the only road to salvation,” “The US be ashamed [of yourself], abandon [your] intrigue.”

Zanjan’s capital of the same name saw a similar display of popular outrage at agitation and unrest.

In Shahr-e Kord, the capital of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari’s Province, people gathered at the city’s Imam Khomeini Grand Prayer Grounds to condemn the riotous activities.

President Rouhani on riots: Iranian people passed another historic test

https://en.abna24.com/news//president-rouhani-on-riots-iranian-people-passed-another-historic-test_988448.html

The rioters were few, but were “organized, armed and tasked with acting in a calculated manner,” the president said. “They took action completely based on a scheme pre-planned by the reactionary regional regimes, the Zionists, and the Americans,” he added.

The chief executive, meanwhile, explained how the price increase was meant to moderate the rate of fuel consumption across Iran so the country will not encounter any trouble in its efforts to satisfy its energy needs.

He added that the government has simultaneously allocated fuel subsidies to as many as 18 million households, around 12 million of which have already received the assistance.

The president also thanked the Leader for the punctual remarks that served to guide the nation in its confrontation against enemy schemes.

Pro-government rallies continue in more cities all across Iran

Iranian people hit streets in more cities all across the country on Saturday, after similar rallies were held on Thursday and Friday, despite the freezing temperature in some areas, to voice their support for the government, and to condemn the moves of rioters who destroyed public and private properties last week.

On Friday, Lieutenant Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Brigadier General Ali Fadavi said that the US was disappointed that its perpetrated violent riots in Iran did not last more than 48 hours, adding that reports from all four corners of the country indicate that peace and calm has been restored much to Washington’s chagrin.

"Based on information we have received, the Americans have gone mad that the riots were over within 48 hours and are disappointed that there is no more disorder in Iran," Fadavi added.

However, Fadavi said that in numerous calls with other IRGC officials in the country no further riot attempts had been reported.

"Attacking homes, shops, hospitals, banks and gas stations is a malicious act which is not an act of protest nor rioting, but an act of thievery," Fadavi said.

"This is the difference between protest and disorder," he said.

The IRGC deputy commander added that peaceful protests were "natural" given the recent price hike and that the government has to adopt additional measures to reduce pressure on the general population.

Fadavi added, however, "The fact that the malicious actors of the world are targeting Iran in issues that are by no means related to them is a matter to note."

Deputy Head of Iran's Basij volunteer forces Brigadier General Salar Abnoosh said on Friday "a full-fledged war" had been meant to be waged against the country, only to be quelled early on.

Abnoosh added that interrogations of arrested rioters had revealed that a "coalition of evil" made up of "Zionists, America and Saudi Arabia" had joined forces to organize destructive riots from abroad.

Addressing worshipers during weekly Friday prayers in Tehran, senior Iranian cleric Ayatollah Ahmad Khatami said certain foreign countries had spent "three years" preparing for an opportunity to wreak havoc in Iran, training specific elements to that end.

"But their schemes were neutralized," he said, adding that the riots ceased to continue despite the fact that countries such as Saudi Arabia had spent many resources and had provided much media coverage in order to instigate disorder.

Following the Friday prayers, numerous rallies were also held across Iran to condemn the recent riots.

The protesters condemned the US, Israel and seditionist elements for fueling the unrest and chanted slogans in support of the Islamic establishment.

Addressing recent riots during a speech, Iran's Judiciary Chief Ebrahim Rayeesi said those "who have abused the concerns and troubles of the people in order to create disorder and insecurity" will face severe consequences.

"The Islamic Republic of Iran is known as the safest country in the region due to the sacrifices of our martyrs and our wounded," he said.

"We will never allow the smallest breach in the security of our people," he added.

Iranians once again foiled enemies’ plots

https://en.abna24.com/news//iranians-once-again-foiled-enemies’-plots_988505.html

Tehran's interim Friday Prayers leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ahmad Khatami, lauded the Iranian nation’s vigilance against enemies’ plots in recent riots amid protests to gasoline rationing and price hike.

"The enemies admitted themselves that they had been planning for three years. People were trained outside and inside. Saudi Arabia spent its money on the riots, provided them with media, but their plots were thwarted," he said.

Ayatollah Khatami said, "One of the manifestations of God's help is to thwart enemy conspiracies. Against Ibrahim Khalilullah (عليه السلام) they provided some firewood but their kidnapping was neutralized."

"Remember this sweet experience from the Leader that we have thwarted the conspiracy of our enemies politically and militarily," he noted.

"This is divine favor. Believe in God and, God is with us," the senior cleric added.

Based on OFAC's decision today, US' citizens or companies with 50 percent of share belonging to the Americans will not be allowed to do trade with Azari-Jahromi.

The foreign minister further condemned the European countries such as France and Germany that made meddlesome remarks on riots in Iran earlier on Monday, saying, "Countries that have failed to show any of their will and power against the US economic terrorism (against Iran) and are now providing political and field support to riots and actions against public order in Iran in a bid to hide their inability vis-a-vis (the United States) will be responsible for all the consequences of their dangerous provocations."

The first video has one identifiable pistol shot. Everything else sounds like "bean bags".

2nd and 3rd, nothing notable.

4th video, you can't tell if the man is armed when shot multiple times or who shot him.

Last video, those are ratt-batons which is why they make such a sharp sound.

Mild stuff.

Imam Khamenei: Iranian people foiled a very dangerous plot

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has lauded the Iranian nation’s tremendous victory in thwarting a “dangerous” enemy plot to take advantage of the government's gas price hike as an opportunity to commit acts of violence and vandalism in line with a subversive agenda.

The Leader noted that the enemies had hatched a “profound, extensive, and very dangerous” plot against the country, and were seeking to enact the conspiracy through acts of destruction, homicide, and mischief.

“The issue of gasoline was the opportunity they had in mind, and [therefore] brought their legion into the scene,” Ayatollah Khamenei said. “However, the Iranian nation destroyed the enemy’s act in a glorious display [of national presence].”

The Leader warned that expansive and magnificent institutions such as Basij in Iran and its kindred organizations in some other countries were more likely to be targeted by the global hegemony's adversarial plots.

“Victory is guaranteed for the Iranian people, Basij, and the country’s revolutionary movement,” the Leader stated, citing the divine pledge of assistance to those following the divine path.

Pres. Rouhani: People's presence indicates nat'l power

https://en.abna24.com/news//pres-rouhani-peoples-presence-indicates-natl-power_989741.html

Rouhani stated that the information "available to us" shows how much money the enemy has invested since two years ago, sending money, equipment, and engaging in propaganda on the one hand and heavy economic pressure on the other, it is trying to make its plan operational and to discourage people.

The high-ranking official said that the enemies were dreaming and thought the whole system would collapse if something happened.

President Rouhani said that the enemies thought that killing and civil war would occur, adding that they thought that destroying and burning a bank, the hospital and the destruction of people's property and assets could seize independence and freedom and force people to surrender.

The president stressed that "our noble people have shown to the world with their explicit actions that this nation will not succumb to external pressure and conspiracy" they may have criticism and have the right to express their criticism and advice but some want to take advantage of the situation and take people's safety away which is not acceptable.

Ahlul Bayt News Agency (ABNA):

The mentioned elements who were gathering information with CIA budget in the form of citizen journalists in various countries have earlier been monitored, he said.

They received orders to attend riots and to prepare exact reports, especially videos, he noted.

Accordingly, six of them were arrested at riots and two others who had gathered information were busted before leaving the country.

Iranian Police detain 26 leaders of recent unrests in Najafabad

Commander of the Law Enforcement Police in Najafabad in Isfahan province in Central Iran announced on Sunday that his forces have captured 26 ringleaders of the recent riots.

"The officers have managed to identify 26 leaders and main culprits behind these riots after a series of professional and complicated moves and arrested them in separated operations," General Mohammed Hossein Babakalani said.

He added that the suspects have confessed to the destruction and arson attack on public properties and provoking people to distort the public order.

Enemies sought to destabilize country during recent riots

Chief of General Staff of Iranian Armed Force, Major General Mohammed Hossein Bagheri says that the enemies sought to take advantage of recent protests over gasoline price hikes to act against the country's security.

Speaking during a ceremony in Tehran on Saturday, Chief of General Staff of Iranian Armed Force, Major General Mohammed Hossein Bagheri described the recent incidents which followed the government's decision to increase the price of gasoline in the country as a plot against the country's security.

General Bagheri said that the enemies must have thought they could have taken advantage of the people's protest over the gasoline price hikes to harm the country after they had realized direct military confrontation would be costly.

"During the first 24 hours, what people were doing was a normal protest, but some had come to the streets to interrupt, damage, and destroy the security of the country," he noted, adding that "had it not been for the brave and sacrificial action of Leader of the Islamic Revolution in putting his support behind the decision of the heads of the three branches of the government and other actions taken in order to bring peace back to the country, the continuation of the trend could have been problematic for the country."

"It is not natural for a peaceful protest against a decision to quickly be transformed into extremely violent behavior, destruction, murder and harm to people and places that undermine national security," the top Iranian military official further noted.

General Bagheri also added restricting access to the Internet proved to be effective in handling the situation as it prevented the rioters from taking control of the protests and misreporting on the incidents

Yet, multiple "killings" are reported here:

France24, tass.com and voanews.com have no reporting at this time.

Surprise Surprise! Shiachat is also a threat to the Iranian regime. It is blocked in Iran and can only be accessed through a VPN. They don’t trust Shiachat.

Not surprised that the Iranians don't want foreigners influencing their public opinion.

I am also pretty much against foreigners influencing British politics. Unfortunately the political party we have in power relies on them and won't take action.
