Was Timur a Shia

Salam there is no evidence about it but he was using Shias specially zaidis in his army also he visited shrines of Imams (عليه السلام) in Iraq but it was his policy to defeat Egyptian army that had support of Sunnis

Timur wasn’t a Shia. He was a Sunni Muslim. If he was a Shia, the Mughal empire (started by his grandson) would’ve been a Shia, but Mughals were Sunnis.

You can't ascribe beliefs according to those of relatives. As I point out in the post above yours, his daughter-in-law was Gauharshad
