Salam,

My father recently has turned 70, it makes me really emotional.

How do I cope with his aging? I don’t know how much longer I will have with him.

Salam. Life and death are both according to the plan of Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) and we cannot change it. Appreciate your father while he is still alive. InShaAllah he lives a long and healthy life.

There is a book that I recommend that helps me with the death of my loved ones:

Heart Comforter At the Time of the Loss of Children and Loved Ones  Get PDF

Cherish every moment with him so inevitebly when he moves on you regret nothing. That is the key to all, anyone and any moment in life try be as present and cerish it as much as you can because we never know when it can be taken away. Think of the positive rather than the negative inshallah he will have several more years to live.

This is important, the feeling of regret is terrible and takes ages to go away...

But you still have time to get yourself in a position so that you'll regret nothing later on.

I think that just trying to be in his presence now as much as you can, will make you feel better later.
