What do you think of flat earthers?

I personally believe that the Earth is a globe...but what do you think of them? It seems that some of them are scientists.

Flat-earthers are a clever movement reanimated and backed by the American establishment. It exists basically as a strawman to be used against all who criticized NASA's Apollo missions and do not believe about them. So that anyone who does not conform exactly with the official stories and comply with its programs is auto dubbed a flat earther and tossed aside in dismay.

To submit your mind and never thinking outside the tiny box aired over CNN is very dangerous attitude. I spent time analyzing flat earther claims and found them lacking and therefore untrue. However that does not mean that "scientists" / officials and their stories are the truth, either, granted planet Earth is a globe.

I have spent so many hours analyzing space travel and related stuff that I can confidently say I know very few amateur individuals internationally who have more knowledge on the subject than myself. I personally know certain celebrity inventor individuals in the process of designing a radiation shield which uses radio waves bursts for manned space travel so we can leave low Earth orbit without letting the van allen belts fry us up. These people are also the inventors of UFO style anti-gravity technology to lift heavy objects "magically" and implementing it on a kind of vehicle is also in the pipeline.

It goes back to the United States in the 19 th century, I suppose the vast majority of "White" people than and there were "White Supremacists" but I do not think that the people who started it were worse in this area than others. A lot of "rappers" apparently believe the theory as well. A lot of it's popularity now among certain sections of Western societies I suspect might come from people abusing drugs such as LSD, DMT and cannabis. Such abuse I think has had much more sociological effects than people realize.

If shaped like a rectangular plate or circular/oval disc, it is the same result as if it is a sphere because East-West lines are local-to-Latitude. and geographic demarcations are not a Quranic concern. ln Qur'an, the Easts-Wests are for Man, the Unseen and (astronomical) Heaven, and Heaven itself.

Sure but I like to observe things for myself. I give every thing a chance. I have an old satellite dish pointing to the sky. I know how parabolic dish antennas work. I can see satellites in the night sky, being in rural area. I bring the whole thing before flat earthers and they just shoot themselves in the foot and say that its local RF but that is not how the thing works. I know because its tedious task manually pointing it correctly at the satellite in the sky while keeping the LNB at the focal point of the dish to receive acceptable signal quality.

It had completely died out as an organized belief system until it was resurrected in 2004. I can't find the articles that I had read some years ago, but if I remember correctly the man who started the new flat Earth movement had previously been active in white supremacy organizing.

I don't understand why the people who argued in favour of the Earth's spherical shape would lie about it in the first place. What do they have to gain by everyone believing it's not flat? It's not like they woke up one day and decided to play a joke on the entire world by announcing the world is not flat. This isn't one of your "9/11 was an inside job" kind of conspiracies lol.

It is much bigger than 9 11 conspiracy. It is to discredit the bible, Qur'an, and pretty much every other world religious book, which all contradict the Earth being a ball floating in a space full of other balls .. good question though

Just casually:

Earth is always described rather flat with terms like "farasha", which means spread. Earth is described as stable with mountains as stabilizers. Never once is Earth described to be floating, the way thr heavenly bodies such as the sun and moon are described. 

There are other proofs that work for me, but keep in mind that wether true or wrong, proofs only can be seen by some. Just like most people don't believe in the Qur'an to be from God to start with.

You will see that according to those hadiths - if they are right - @notme (and those who support her takfir fatwa) would consider the Prophet as a non-Muslim. He refers to the shape of the Earth as a ring supposedly, after going on the night journey.

I hope that discussing this wont freak everybody out too much, because it seem ok with mods and admins here (the active ones) to open threads discussing the existence of God, but it is not ok to discuss flat Earth or the holocaust.

I am awaiting to hear on what basis a person who thinks the Earth of a certain shape can not be Muslim. Please answer me that. Is the shahada about one God, Mohammed being a Prophet, and thinking thr Earth is a ball? Who told you that and whose authority are you allowed to spread this?

Where is the "I think that .." .. this sounds like a statement of takfir, reminiscent of ISIS mentality. Very offensive and dangerous to say the least. It has nothing to do with the shape, but rather with the religious fervor of the belief. If a person is genuinely ignorant of the shape of the Earth and assumes it is flat, that's nothing significant. The problem is Flat Earth cultists who seek to spread their Religion of lies to mislead believers.
