Hezbollah official: Resistance more powerful than illusions of US, its allies

Head of Hezbollah Executive Council Sayyed Hashem Safieddine stressed that the resistance and Lebanon is more powerful that the illusions of the US and its allies.

“However, these should know that the resistance is more powerful than their illusion and hatred, and as we offered sacrifices in order to save our country we are still ready and on all fronts to drive the threats away of Lebanon.”

He lashed out at some political parties in Lebanon for exploiting the rightful demands of the people who sincerely took to streets seeking reforms, warning that these sides are trying to achieve what they have failed to do so in politics.

Sayyed Safieddine, meanwhile, said that corrupts should be held accountable, calling on the judicial authority to bear responsibility in this regard.

As he stressed that Hezbollah firmly reject imposing new taxes on Lebanese citizens, Sayyed Safieddine warned in the same time against turning the protests in the streets into sectarian movements.

How much money did the government stole from the citizens?

The country's debt currently stands at 90 billion dollars; most of that is attributable to corruption and governmental mismanagement over the past 3 decades.

If Hezbollah and Amal continue to show complete disregard for the needs of their people and continue cracking down on them, they will create enormous amounts of resentment within the Lebanese Shia community. The Shia have already turned on Amal, and if Hezbollah keeps this up, they will turn on them too. And if Hezbollah loses the Shia support, they're finished.

The Lebanese Shia will continue to hate Israel, but they are tired of being pawns of Iran and its insistence on enforcing its ideology on the Lebanese Shia populace. It is not the responsibility of the Shia of South Lebanon to liberate Palestine. Iran needs to understand that Lebanon is a sovereign nation and can not afford to become a pariah state. Either Hezbollah recognizes the needs of its community and adapts, or it will lose its legitimacy very, very quickly.

Hezbollah beholds People’s sufferings, talks underway to form new gov’t: Official

Hezbollah has been for years beholding the sufferings of the Lebanese people and will keep doing so, the movement’s Head of Executive Council Sayyed Hashem Safieddine said.

“We in Hezbollah have been for years beholding the sufferings of the people. We have repeatedly warned, at the cabinet and the parliament and these remarks are recorded, against the economic policy adopted by the successive governments.”

“We have repeatedly warned that adopting a policy based on the monetary balance is not appropriate to a country like Lebanon, which is in dire need to develop its infrastructure.”

Anyone?

Between 2006 and 2008 the Lebanese government spent 11 billion USD and hasn't offered any solid trail for where or on what it was spent.

No one has yet been able to properly account for it.

This is peanuts if you compare it to Iraq. There are estimates of around 320 billion USD stolen In Iraq since 2003. And some wonder why people take to the streets in revolt.

Sayyed Nasrallah: Resistance at its height; US administration blocking investments in Lebanon

Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah stressed Monday that the Islamic Resistance is now at its height as it contributes to the making of Lebanon’s, Palestine’s and the entire region’s future, adding that it is proud to be part of a victorious axis in the Middle East.

“It was a historic operation which obliged Isaac Sharon to humiliatingly stand on the debris of the destroyed building and ‘Israel’ to announce public mourning due to the horrors resulting from the operation.”

Sayyed Nasrallah added that because the operation claimed more than 100 Israeli officers and soldiers, Hezbollah chose its anniversary to be all the Resistance Marty’s Day.

Hezbollah leader noted that the lebanese economic crisis is caused by the dependence on the money-borrowing policy while neglecting the productive sectors, adding that the US administration prevents the Chinese firms from running investments in Lebanon.

“What I know is that Washington has prevented China from running investments in Lebanon and even blocked the commercial ties between China and the Zionist entity.”

Sayyed Nasrallah wondered why Lebanon should reject the Chinese investments and in line with the US pressures, noting that Syria, which does not welcome the US influence, has been hosting China’s reconstruction projects.

“Why does not Lebanon allow Russian investments and participate in the reconstruction projects in Syria?”

Sheikh Daamoush added that Hezbollah distinguishes between the righteous demands of the protesters and the political schemes of those who are utilizing the public movement for their own purposes.

I still don’t understand why some Lebanese protestors want Hezbollah weapon’s thrown away. I think that’s non of their businesses.

Another thing, few hours ago I watched in OTV (Lebanese channel), the protestors are insulting a reporter and harassing her (following her everywhere and taking picture without her permission), a man showed his middle finger to her as well, thank God she start hitting him with the mike.
