Assalamu alaykum.

Question:

In which situation a Muslim woman can live in another home in a halal situation in a home that is not her family house?

1)in a single room but in a house(or apartment)with only men\guys(or one man\one guy) that are not mahram to her.

2)in a single room in a house\apartment in which there are men and women(or guys and girls)inside

3)in a single room in an only women house

4)in a double room with another woman(girl) in a house with other men or men and women

5)in a double room with another woman(girl) in a only women house

I'm talking for going to college.

Or in generale as well.

Options 1 & 2 are inappropriate, it's just unconventional to live with a man you don’t know or is not mahram to you. You might be put in situations you can’t control etc so it's just better to steer clear off of it.

The rest seem fine if the girls family approves.

Thankyou so much.

So the option 4:4)in a double room with another woman(girl) in a house with other men or men and women

is good(halal),too?

And a woman can talk with a man that is not mahram to her if:

1)she is alone in the street with the man but not segregated(like at the table of a cafè)

2)there are two women and a man(same situation like up)

3)there are one woman and two men

4)there are two women and two man

And:A Muslim woman can go to keep a coffe(for example),in a cafè like that in the west? And can sit in a cafè like that in the west or in general?

And if a man give the Salam in the street(a not mahram to us and a man that we do not know),we have to reply?

I think only option 3 & 5 are halal but if you really want to check then I suggest emailing the office of your marja

I don't know the rulings much nor will I give advice what to do.

But, living with other people even if they are female can get you into troubles. Pictures, videos taken of you. Or that they decide to bring others into the room such as non mahram men or other girls that might take pictures or videos.

If it's halal then what's the problem?

Discuss it with your parents and choose one that would be the most comfortable and convenient for you.

Maintain your hijab, don't be alone with a namehram man, don't fall into sin(avoid unnecessary interaction)everything else is good.

What about these situations?

@Maryam.ItSorry just read the whole thing again. I would personally only feel comfortable with options 3 and 5. You can request a female dorm for uni. I just think living with men will get you into alot of uncomfortable situations that might end up even being haram.

you can respond his Salam because responding Salam is obligatory but try to avoid more talk if you are alone .
