An Iranian Instagram star famed for posts which appeared to show she had gone to extreme lengths to look like US actress Angelina Jolie has been arrested, reports say.

Sahar Tabar was arrested for crimes including blasphemy and instigating violence, Tasnim news agency reported.

Tabar made international headlines last year when photos of her went viral.

Though she was rumoured to have had 50 plastic surgeries, most of the pictures in her posts had been heavily edited.

What exactly did she do?

"She is accused of blasphemy, instigating violence, illegally acquiring property, insulting the country's dress code and encouraging young people to commit corruption." = fashion blogger (?)

"one tweet sarcastically suggesting she should have indulged in less incendiary pursuits, such as embezzlement and murder."  looool

Salam it's a biased translation by BBC " crimes of this Transgressor person  includes spreading  violence , earning money from illegal ways , insulting to holy figures & rituals (that criticism of religion translated to blasphemy by BBC) , Insulting to Islamic Hijab ,spreading permissibly of everything (doing every sin) , motivating youth to corruption

جرایم این چهره هنجارشکن، ترویج خشونت، تحصیل مال از طریق نامشروع، توهین به مقدسات، توهین به حجاب اسلامی، گسترش اباحه گری و تشویق جوانان به فساد می‌باشد

but like as Mutah that translated to "pleasure marriage" instead of "temporary marriage"by BBC again BBC translated insulting to blasphemy also her instagram still is active

Every time I see her face I want to vomit.

Lol, I don’t understand how some people like her fashion. She look like a zombie of Angelina Jolie.

Oh come on. She should get appreciation for her legendary makeup and photoshop skills.

Seriously Uhty, l hope you wrote sarcastically, or ShiaChat will break new historical ground: a Mod reported to the Admins.

l wanted to read your Mrs Doctor comment, but this ain't like that Ukrainian girl that now looks like Barbie or those women with under developed personalities who crashed into the cosmetic clinics a few years ago wanting to get 'behinds' like Kim CarTrashian.

I read Wiki "Self Harm" at it refers as per DSM-5. That girl needs a team of doctors.

As for the cosmetic surgeon, let the medical board review this case.

:angry:angry at you.

I actually had to go get a cigarette and cup-of-coffee to alleviate my disappointment.

So what is your observation?

Her photos are badly edited, I was so shocked British tabloids couldn't see that. If you look closely to her face you can see where the background is warped because she has used an app to push her nose. Literally an app on her phone.

I don't think she suffers any spiritual illness, I think she is just a little too creative. She actually looks like any other Iranian girl.

She definitely has problems but I was thinking some other things.

1. There should be some regulation for cosmetic surgeries. One can't just get 20 done in two years just because one feels like turning herself/himself into a zombie or barbie or a trash-ian or whatever.

2.  The second thing I was thinking was who financed her cosmetic surgery marathon. She is 22 now so she must have started undergoing the knife around 19/20 years of age. This and given her psychological state I doubt she was holding a job to pay for her procedures. Were it her parents? Did they find this okay?

3. Why do we see such extreme examples in just Iran out of all Muslim countries? Women ripping off hijabs, dying over football matches, turning into zombies?? Pakistan has some pretty screwed up women but I have yet to see something like this happen.

I disagree with that part of your post. The rest of your post about her photos being manipulated, warped and touched up, I guess is true.

Initially I thought this is another BBC anti-Iranian report. However, since an Iranian site has mentioned this, it must be that she is in custody. I hope that she is getting hospital care to help her deal with whatever her mental problem is.

If you see something you find problematic , the correct way to go about it is to report it. Making underhand comments in the forum won't work.

Maybe you should report too.

Instead of turning this into a thread where we talk about a Muslim sister, regardless of her actions. Isn't this somewhat backbiting?

I report anything when I see something worth reporting even without your prompting.

One of the conditions where Islam permits backbiting is when the person being talked about does not conceal his violations of Divine commands.

Please stay on topic if you want to post in this thread or start a new one if you want to discuss whatever is bothering you.

This is what l was thinking about this past afternoon. Would not medical ethics or -using our state boards analogy- the medical board regulate what surgical objectives are pursued?

Q: did l select the appropriate word "objectives"? . . . since surrepticious proceedures can be used?

Edit: Congrats uhty -a week late- for 10 years on ShiaChat

I won't deny I feel happy she is shut down, but I also hope she receives justice and psychiatric treatment. Perhaps there is some way to cure all the Sahars and Tabars of the world.

I agree, but I doubt the cure is being arrested and humiliated by people all over the world (although she may have earned it).
