Qatar is hosting the world athletics championships and the BBC is broadcasting pictures of women running and jumping etc and not wearing a lot. But this is progress because it's happening in a Muslim country. So that Iraqi journalist won't be making a documentary about it any time soon.

As one of the Twitter posts points out, the BBC was quite happy to feature the sports aspect of the recent F! event in Bahrain, but without any mention of the crackdown on Shias.

So the question is whether the BBC is doing the Iraq programme because of its love for Shias, or because it wants to stir up trouble?

If there was some agenda where the BBC and other news media outlets propagated the Shi'a/making Shi'a look the better of the two sects, would you and others here support that?

The BBC likes to belittle as many non-British & non-Western cultures and religions as it can. They seem like bigoted xenophobes. Although I am not against the exposition of any ills within the Shia community, I wish they would balance it out by saying some good things too.

Nobody expects the organisation to be pro Muslims or Shias.

Not supporting the mass murder of Muslims would be a start.

The type of investigative reporting we are seeing here was completely absent when it came to the invasion of Iraq. It was similarly absent when Gaddafi was overthrown and Libya thrown into chaos. The attempt to overthrow Assad has similarly been supported by the BBC. And again the investigative journalism is absent when it comes to any analysis of the role played by Britain and the US in the slaughter of Yemenis by the Saudi Air Force.

So tens of thousands killed. You know not breathing any more. Extinct. Completely deaded. Not in any position to complain.

Obviously I am in favour of exposing exploitation - but when the exposer has been hiding far worse crimes against us, they are not doing us a favour when they expose crimes against women. Their exposure is war against us by another means.
