Is this guy actually saying Khomeini and the Islamic republic are "the two weights" mentioned  by Muhammad (sawas)? We all know the two weights are the Qur'an and the Ahlul Bayt (عليه السلام), so saying this sounds blasphemous.

A friend of mine sent to me and I'm skeptical because it is from Fadak TV, what is actually being said in this video?

What's going on here? ^

Apparently that's very common, at least it used to be. I read in a book that at some gatherings the faithful would recite three salawat after Ayatullah Khomeinie's name and one after Imam Mahdi (عليه السلام).

No, he said they are the 2 weights left by Imam Khomeini.

There are even dedicated naara for Khamenei. Just WF things.

Very disappointing to hear nonetheless, it reminds me of this:

sorry dear sister, this does not make sense.

- how does two heavy weights, one being IRI & the other being Ayatollah Khomeini(رضي الله عنه), get left behind by the one who leaves while being left behind?

Probably an analogy to the famous حديث الثقلين, but with the subject replaced. Figure of speech.

try placing & replacing the subject/s

there's quite a lot that is taken out of context when it comes to Ayatollah Khomeini(رضي الله عنه). Both the enemies of Shi'a Islam & the Shi'as themselves.

is the video referring to Khamenei(رضي الله عنه) or Khomeini(رضي الله عنه)

- it would make sense if Ayatollah Khomeini(رضي الله عنه) left two heavy weights, Ayatollah Khamenei & IRI.

He mentions both ,paraphrasing : Imam Khomeni has passed away and left behind two weighty things(parallel to thaqalyn) One is Khamenei (Ali of our time) and other is IRI.

I am not sure but I have heard that the story behind it dates back to Pahlavi era when people intentionally recited salawat after his name to make the king angry.

Yes. Shah had asked them not to mention his name.

Now, it seems there are some who exaggerate it and distort the religion, therefore  allowing people to make a video that makes it look even worse.

Too bad that they didn't have the common sense to avoid reciting salawat after anybody but the Prophets (عليه السلام) or Imams (عليه السلام).

Salam , it's a common practice in Iran that people recite Salawat for deceased person  for sake of his soul & his forgiveness in other world & ayt Janati said "it's like as condition that Prophet Muhammd (pbu) left two weighty things for us " so comparing condition doesn't humiliate word of Prophet  Muhammad (pbu) & Fadak TV propaganda against Iranian regime is because of that they don't have a share in power in Iran but during time of Imam Khomeini (رضي الله عنه) their late leader was in complete agreement with Imam Khomeini (رضي الله عنه) idea like as          " WF is  Wilayat of Rasulullah " but after electing Imam Khameni as leader & losing opportunity to take power as leader he & his followers became against Iran Regime & now spreading  Zionist propaganda against  Imam Khamenei & WF but if they had share in WF they would repeating this slogan as their main slogan their war against WF is just a fight for their greed of gaining power .

I see, I strongly disagree with this practice, it's asking for trouble and misrepresentation from media with ulterior motives.

Salam anyway it's an accepted tradition that our scholars have no problem with it & other Shia communities like as Khoja community & even remained Akhbari groups in India & Pakaistan have same tradition but nobody cares about their practices because they are not a political party against zionism & Israel only British Shi'ism blames Iran for everything with narrow mind but this cult is free to do Tatbir in heart of London although it causes more "trouble and misrepresentation from Media with ulterior motives" that MSM like as british media & euronews & RT are representing Shias with their bizzare actions like as Tatbir to westerner people.

The Ahmadis do/did that after Mirza Ghulam Ahmad's name too, not that I am saying Imam Khamenei is a self-proclaimed Messiah figure, just saying it appears easier than thought to blur the lines and lose grasp of things.

Interesting only Farsi people understand the translation like @Shia farm girl. I hope people know the difference between Ahlebait (عليه السلام) and Mujtahids.

Can't believe the level to pettiness expressed by some people here.

Something something... taqalayn... something something Imam Khomeini  =  Oh wow I guess they are saying that the hadith of Taqalayn is refering to Imam Khomeini and Iran, they are crazy.

Something something... Imam Khomeini... something... salawat = Oh wow I guess they are saying that Imam Khomeini = Rasulullah and the Imams because they made a salawat after mentioning him.

Reciting a salawt on someones behalf is no different than reciritng a Fatiha on someones behalf or giving away sadagah on someones behalf, etc.

I don’t think you guys are intellectually deprived so you don’t understand this but you sure as hell are quick to jump to absurd conclusions. May God help you clean your hearts.

Salam @thuglife Imam Khomeini (رضي الله عنه) wrote a book about ibn Arabi & explained his ideas but it doesn't mean that he loved him but as advise of Prophet Muhammad (pbu) seeking knowledge even from china he got good parts of ibn Arabi ideas & rejected what was against teachings of Ahlul Bayt(عليه السلام) like as Prophet Muhammad (pbu) released a group of Kufars from prisoners of Badr battle after they taught reading &writing to 10 Muslims  but he didn't force them to accept Islam & didn't love them.
