People generally avoid eating until some time around after asr (if you space your wajib salah to 5 sessions daily) so its like a late afternoon simple lunch or a pre maghrib meal. To break a fast before maghrib can sound confusing. To the OP think of it like when during eid, you are told to "fast" until after salat al eid. Or refrain from eating until after salah.
