Question: Is what Islamqa talk about for real? They say this-

'walking, kissing or touching the Black Stone and the Yemeni Corner, or pointing to the Black Stone – all come under the heading of remembering Allah, may He be exalted, because they are all acts of worship, and all acts of worship are remembrance of Allah, may He be exalted, in general terms. As for the words that he utters of takbeer, dhikr and du‘aa’, they obviously come under the heading of remembering Allah, may He be exalted. As for kissing the Black Stone, it is an act of worship in which a person kisses a stone to which he has no connection except worshipping Allah, may He be exalted, by venerating it and following the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) by doing that, as it is proven that the Ameer al-Mu’mineen ‘Umar ibn al-Khattaab (may Allah be pleased with him) said, when he kissed the Black Stone: I know that you are a stone and have no power to harm or benefit; were it not that I saw the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) kissing you, I would not have kissed you.'

How on Earth do they think kissing a stone is an act of worship and every form of worship is a remembrance of Allah? That's daft. Besides you cannot both have no connection to something and take it as an act of worship, why is it that we have a connection to every single form of remembering Allah except conveniently enough the one form of 'worship' that looks suspicious?

We have the same in our aḥādith.

Look in Wasāʾil al-Shiʾa, volume 9, page 402.

In a long ḥādith, ʿal-Imam ʿal-Ṣādiq advises Muawiya bin Ammār to kiss the stone, as seen in the highlighted part.

So not only should we kiss it as a sign of worshipping Allah, but it also represents Allah's right hand and touching it is akin to touching His right hand... It also testifies on the Day of Judgement.

So the stone that we kiss in reverence, that we worship in remembrance of Allah, the stone that is also representing His right hand on Earth, this stone, His symbolic right hand that we worship will speak on the Day of Judgment? Never mind the limbs, stones will testify for us... It's all very confusing when you look at it like that.

I don’t know where you got that people worship the stone, because no one does. It’s there for reverence, not worship.

Allah told Prophet Mūsā to remove his sandals in the holy valley of Ṭūwā, and this how it looks.

Just stones and huge mountains, right? Well, it’s still holy!

And going by the logic you presented, the Kaaba is also just a stone, right?

Rulings

Main article: Istilam al-Hajar

Based on hadiths, jurists believe that the beginning and end point for the rounds of circumambulation (tawaf) is the Black Stone. Touching and kissing the Stone is recommended.

In hadiths, it is suggested that pilgrimssupplicate (du'a) near the Stone, touch, and kiss it, and renew their covenant on the unity of God and the truth of the message of the Prophet (s), in the testimony of the Black Stone. According to a hadith from the Prophet (s), the Black Stone represents God's right hand on Earth, so touching it is equal to touching God's hand and pledging allegiance with Him.

What does this stone symbolize? It symbolizes a hand - a right hand! And - whose right hand? The right hand of Allah!

Quote

In the past, individuals and tribes made contracts with the chiefs of other tribes. This was done to assure their maintenance and survival in the desert. The contract was known as an allegiance. How was it actualized? The individual involved had to extend his right hand to shake and hold the right hand of the other in order that he becomes his ally. Automatically, it was understood that his previous allegiances were cancelled.

At the Black Stone, the moment of selection, you must choose your path, goal, and future. When joining the people, you must shake hands with Allah who is extending His right hand - therefore taking the oath to become Allah's confederate. You will be free from all previous allegiances; no longer will you be an ally of the powers, the hypocrites, the tribal chiefs, the rulers on this Earth, the aristocrats of Quraish, the landlords, nor money. You are free!

The hand of Allah is over their hands. Qur’an, 48:10

Touch Allah's hand. He is superior to all who have TIED your hands in previous allegiances! Upon acquiring the status of being free (after shaking Allah's hand and re-asserting your "original promise"' to Him), it is your duty to join the people. Do not stop, continue on.

The link doesn’t mention everything from our books, some things are from their books. And this ḥādith is one of them.

And even then, it isn’t really polytheistic or bad, it’s obviously said metaphorically.

“the hand of Allah is above their hands.” (48:10)

This (above) is a metaphor in the Arabic language, it doesn’t literally mean that God has a hand.

And even the ḥādith you mentioned is weak in Sunni sources.

Not everything “islamqa” says is wrong... there’s right and wrong in everything..

Fair enough, they don't have any references on that page so it's hard to tell.

So the hadith on wikishia which is a Sunni source talking about the Black Stone representing Allah's right hand and how touching it is like touching Allah's hand, this is a weak hadith. That's fair enough then.

This stone is a gift from Allah (عزّ وجلّ). This can also be termed as religious. Respecting Hajar-e-Aswad as a gift is not haram but respecting it as deity is haram. Prophet (PBUHHP) said in the same hadith mentioned above to 2nd Caliph that it can both benefit as well as harm. How ? If someone disrespected it, it causes Allah (عزّ وجلّ) angry and if it is respected then Allah (عزّ وجلّ) will shower mercy upon you.

Was the hadith saying it brought both benefit and harm or that it didn't bring any benefit or harm? Jazak Allahu kheir.

You can’t call him a “2nd caliph,” because he isn’t a legitimate one.

Plus, this is something that Muawiya made.

Was the hadith saying it brought both benefit and harm or that it didn't bring any benefit or harm? Jazak Allahu kheir.

It says it benefits as well as harms. Take example of marble, it benefits in summer by reducing temperature and harms in winter as house gets colder.

Chapter 1: The Beginning of the Stone (black stone) and the Reason for Kissing This Stone
Muhammad ibn Yahya and others have narrated from Muhammad ibn Ahmad from Musa ibn 'Umar from ibn Sinan from Abu Sa'id al-Qammat from Bukayr ibn A'yan who has said the following:

"I once asked Abu 'Abd Allah, 'Alayhi al-Salam, 'For what reason has Allah placed the black stone at
the corner where it is and not in other places? Why should one kiss it, why is it taken out of paradise,
why are servants of Allah's covenant and undertaking placed in it and not in other things, and what is
the reason for it? Explain to me and I pray to Allah to keep my soul in service for your cause. My
thinking about this issue is strange.' The narrator has said that he (the Imam) then said, 'You asked it,
complicated the issue and brought up many things.

 Allah, the most Blessed,
the most High, placed the black stone, which is a special substance taken out of paradise for Adam,
'Alayhi al-Salam. It was placed on the corner (of Ka'bah) because of the covenant. This is because
when the offspring of Adam were taken out of their backs, when Allah made a covenant with them on
that place and at that place it (the black stone) was shown to them.

From that place, the bird will fly
for al-Qa'im, 'Alayhi al-Salam. The first one to pledge allegiance with him will be that bird, and he by
Allah is Jibril, 'Alayhi al-Salam. Against that place will al-Qa'im lean his back.

The reason for kissing and touching the black stone is the covenant. It is to renew the
covenant and undertaking and to renew the allegiance. It is for them to reaffirm in front of it (the
black stone) the covenant that Allah had made with them on the day of covenant and undertaking.

" I swear by Allah, no one returns this trust except our Shi'ah. No one has preserved that
undertaking and covenant except our Shi 'ah. They come to it (the black stone) and it recognizes them
and acknowledges their truthfulness. Others come to it, but it does not recognize them and rejects their
assertion; no one other than you has preserved the covenant.

 on the Day of Judgment

it (the black stone) will come, and it will have a speaking tongue and two eyes, in its
original form. All creatures will recognize it and no one will deny it. It will testify in favor of those
who fulfilled the obligation about the covenant,

It was an angel of the great angels before
Allah. When Allah made a covenant with the angels, the first to believe and affirm the covenant was
that angel. Allah then chose him as a trustee for all of His creatures. He fed him the covenant and kept
it with him for safekeeping. He then commanded all creatures to worship Him and to renew before it
(angel, now the black stone)
