Interesting, given Mr.... Musk's statements on the danger of AI.

Mr.. musk plans to reach a symbiosis with ai and humans, given that ai is predicted to surpass humans.

So he hopes that we will be the equivalent of our digestive microbes, for computers.

Well that's grand.

His point of view is that we don't have the processing power that a computer has. His argument is that we already have a symbiotic relationship with our devices.  He wants to increase neural processing power.

With that, the suicide rates will rise.

And no, we don't need any more technology please. In fact, we should chuck out half of the technology we already have at this point, and replace it with natural things.

But I wonder if attaching wires to our brains is haram. Might be since were not allowed to change ourselves as allahs creation. But if its not haram then id be intrested in this. Because it could cause a massive change in humanity. So please tell me if this is haram and explain it indepth for me.

Shiachat is a discussion site. You might want to ask your marja about the fiqh of modifying the human brain. I doubt there are many rulings at this time - it's too new an idea - but if you find any, please share with us.

Marja is the exact authority to ask for Haram/Halal.However,we may investigate the man behind this gun.

His “cui bono” and motif of doing this. The only thing i am apprehensive after his “Bolivia tweet scandal” is that he is after resources and capital. He intends to amass extensive cookies/observation/surveillance data for selling into a desired product.I mean Google etc are monitoring activities to get personal trends but this man is straight to the point. He may want our first hand cognitive ability to show us a fake reality.

Do u think utilising such chips would bring us any closer to God???

Y'all.... Remember Musk's big hype over the Hyperloop tunnels? And then they turned out to be nothing but regular tunnels?

Yeah.

Let's not panic based on this man's words. Let's wait and see if his people actually come up with something.

I heard there was recently a "monkey playing video games" video from Neuralink. Did anyone watch that? Did it seem real or a hoax?

Salam only innovation in this vide has been using wireless  technology for playing  games which previously  quadriplegic people had to use a computer interface with a cap which has too many censores & wires for moving objects but Neuralink has made it wireless  .

How We Won Gold in the Cyborg Olympics’ Brain Race

With our brain-computer interface, paralyzed athletes sped their avatars across the finish line

Our group in the brain-machine interface lab at the other Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL), in Geneva, fielded the Brain Tweakers team to compete in the Cybathlon’s Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) Race. Gold medalist Poujouly was one of our two pilots, both of whom propelled their avatars through a racecourse by mind power alone. As with any BCI system, signals recorded from the pilot’s brain were fed into a decoding algorithm that translated the signals into commands. In this case, the commands were used to control the pilot’s avatar, but other BCI systems could be used by people with severe motor impairments to control a variety of devices—including wheelchairsprosthetic limbs, and computer cursors.
