Every Muslim who considered the Ahl al-Bayt (عليه السلام). to be the second of the Two Weighty Things and did not pledge allegiance to Yazid and his successors was considered to be a shi'I by the Umayyads regardless of his belief about the succession of the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم).

The simple question arises here that how the hadith of 12 caliphs is interpreted for people chosen caliphs when there is principle defined in the Qur'an by the examples of Adam (عليه السلام) and Dawood (عليه السلام) that they were chosen caliphs by Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) and not by the people?
