9/11 did nothing wrong for the numbers of people coming to Islam, so I wouldn't imagine a war with the U.S. would do anything bad for this either. Public trust in religious clerics however would be impacted based on their actions and responses to war.

When has a major war ever done any good to the US? People still talk about the idiocy of going to Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan. This war, if it happens, will be the same.

You mean Israel vs Iran?  That's what that war would be. A proxy war for Israel. 

It would mean the destruction of ancient Persia, a venerable civilization. It would also potentially mean the destruction of the United States.  The republic I love and call home, all so John Bolton's mustache will be happy.

During the Korean War twice the tonnage of bombs were dropped than in WW2 were dropped north of the 38th parallel.

During the Vietnam War, it was 3X.

For Iran, the planning is for 5X.

At least some American & Christian are against war but at start of Vietnam war all of them  were believing that they are doing the right job but this time , all of them are not ignorant & at least a little group are against war for Israel
