So when the next in-the-street riots begin in lRl, have the police contain it and let the other lranians take care of it. This will mess up western propaganda.

Pres. Rouhani: Today, our nuclear power higher than any other time

Iran's President stated that with the decisions made, the drinking water of the people of Yazd and Kerman provinces will be supplied for the next 30 years, adding, “The unveiling of 14 trillion tomans worth of projects in Kerman province and hundreds of others in Yazd indicates that we have not sat idle and we are not hoping anything from outside”.

Dr. Rouhani said that “with the continuation of the JCPOA, Iran’s arms embargo will be lifted next year and we will achieve a major political, security and defence goal”, adding, “Iran was banned for years by a UN resolution from buying weapons, and we could not sell any weapons”.

“If we stay in the JCPOA according to Resolution 2231, Iran’s arms embargo will be lifted next year and we can easily buy or export our required weapons, which is one of the major effects of the nuclear deal,” he continued.

The president said that if we withdraw from the JCPOA, it will not bear fruit next year and the Security Council resolutions will return, saying, "We must think and find out where the interests of the country are. Is it in our best interest to be 100% committed to the deal while the other sides stay idle vis-à-vis it? Definitely not. So we chose a path in between”.

Dr. Rouhani reiterated, "The Islamic Republic of Iran has chosen a path in between to preserve the JCPOA but at the same time we will reduce what we have pledged in the agreement step by step".

“Today, our nuclear power higher than any other time,” he said, “During this period of effort, we did research and developed in the field of nuclear energy. The head of the Atomic Energy Organisation announced that a few years back, we had five types of centrifuges, but today we have 15 types of centrifuges”.

“This means that we have made progress and moved ahead. This is the path of moderation, which means that while protecting the agreement, we also uphold the rights of the nation and do not succumb to the enemies’ pressures,” continued the President, adding, that the massive inauguration of projects in Yazd province as well as 14 trillion tomans worth of project in Kerman show that we have not sat idle and we are not hoping anything from outside.

The president continued, "Announcing that Iran’s rank has been promoted to the 10th place from 13th of the world in steel production in the last few years, and we have surpassed countries like France and Italy make us proud".

Iran's Shamkhani: US perplexed by Islamic Revolution's mobilization power

Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani said that the Islamic Revolution has been able to mobilize supporters everywhere, spreading its influence and surprising Washington.

“After the victory of the Islamic Revolution, the US has got into a track of power erosion as it has been relegated from strategic levels to an operational level,” Major General Salami underlined.

“Americans have set vital interest targets for themselves in all four corners of the world. However, growing awareness of the nations and their uprisings that are not bound to geographical borders against them (the Americans) have forced (the US) to expand its military power more than ever,” the IRGC chief highlighted.

“It has been years that Americans cannot find a balance between their (military) measures’ expenditure and their accomplishments, even in the field of economy. They are in a downward spiral and it has been for decades and years that the world has not witnessed them posting a political victory,” he asserted.

Iran’s EB Children Victimized by US Sanctions

Hamid Reza Hashemi-Golayegani, the head of the NGO that helps such patients, said on Sunday that at least 15 Iranian children with epidermolysis bullosa (EB) have died since the US launched its new sanctions on Iran in August.

Since the reimposition of sanctions, Swedish medical products firm Molnlycke Health Care has stopped delivering Mepilex dressings which are trusted around the world to treat a wide range of chronic and acute wounds, including in EB patients, Iranian media reports say.

  • That is because Swedish medical companies which provided protective bandages for such patients have halted supplies due to the restrictions, he said.
  • Baqayee Hamaneh called the US "blind and inhumane sanctions" as one of the challenges that violate the human rights of the Iranian people, including the right to health and the right of free access to medicine and treatment.

He made the remarks, addressing a ceremony at the Human Rights Achievement Exhibition in Geneva.

  •
Tehran (FNA)- Iranian children suffering from epidermolysis bullosa (EB) are the new victims of inhumane US sanctions against Tehran, as Washington’s bans are preventing a Swedish supplier from sending protective bandages to the country, according to an NGO which says American bans have so far killed 15 of these children.

Iranian children suffering from a rare skin condition known as EB are losing their lives as US economic sanctions hamper the flow of vital medical products, an NGO says.

You remember lraq. There were estimates mostly around 1 1/2 million child deaths from withholding medical supplies from lraq. l remember one estimate of 3 million. So when the UN commissioned an accurate accounting study, when the researchers reached 500,000 documented child deaths, the UN cout-off the research and used/uses 500,000 as the "official" pre-invasion child death toll.

As for the internet shutdown, on the one hand the state may want to prevent its repression from being seen, on the other hand, there are legitimate reasons to worry, the US has used protests before in Iran to overthrow governments, they may be trying to avoid means of communication between some looking to stir up trouble in the country and countries that have a vested interest in overthrowing the government. https://www.juancole.com/2019/11/economic-blockade-protests.html

I'm just not convinced that shutting off internet is a wise move.

The US and other countries capitalize on pre existing dissent. I would say moreso than actually creating that descent. But what would an internet shutdown do other than remind people of Iran that they're being intellectually controlled and blocked from speaking to one another?

If anything, I would think that it would just give them another reason to protest.

China on the other hand literally has been putting Muslims in internment camps, the ultimate form of censorship. Is this really the direction that Iran wants to go?

Cutting off communication just sounds...anti free.

It’s a double edged sword in my opinion. On the one hand, you’re right that the government could use this to crush dissent and undermine the voices of their own people, which given other means of repression you can make an argument that that’s what this is. On the other hand, governments are frightened of their own security, don’t forget the US signed the patriot act into law after 9/11, and carried out torture and administered a rendition program, which led to many innocent people being tortured and radicalized. The US in WW2 even instituted martial law in Hawaii and established internment camps in Alaska and in Japanese citizens on the mainland. It’s not an excuse and two wrongs don’t make a right, but I can understand the fear in Iranian leaders, who are worried about losing power and worried about a country that has a history of meddling in their country use every tool they have to sow chaos. Unfortunately, even those who profess to uphold principles of liberty fall well short of them under given circumstances. Shutting down the net maybe doesn’t seem like it can achieve much but there was recently something in the news about MEK twitter bots spreading false information, some were banned for a while and they could try to provoke the riots by encouraging their protestors inside the country to riot and spread more chaos. Over 100 banks have burned down thus far, I don’t see how you can justify destroying property if your problem is with the government, you’re just destroying your country at that point and ruining people’s livelihoods.

China is a bit different because they aren’t facing regime change from an outside power. I wish the US would lift sanctions, and take regime change of the table, it takes away that excuse by the government that this is to prevent an imperialist plot. That way the government wouldn’t be able to rely on an enemy.

These protests were predicted month before by Iranian analysts. This is due to the infiltration of positions of power by the westernized forces in Iran (presidency and parliament). The gas price hike was the deliberate shock needed to set it off. Hence, in an organized manner the western agents started to create chaos in the country, burning and looting. The number of dead should be taken with grain of salt as its just propaganda.

its in Farsi, from few month ago, but it's titled: To the path of the hot winter (meaning full of chaos)

Iranian people demonstrate their insight by participating in pro-Revolutionary marches

Ayatollah Sa’idi ‎emphasized that the Iranian people demonstrated their insight by separating ‎themselves from the rioters and participating in the widespread marches that are being held ‎in all provinces of the country in support of the Islamic Revolution.‎

The custodian of the Holy Shrine of Lady Fatimah al-Ma’sumah stressed that the energy ‎carriers in Iran are the cheapest in the world and said, “According to the fifth development ‎plan, it was predicted that the price of gasoline would be gradually increased in such a way ‎that it doesn’t put pressure on the people and cause inflation but it was not enacted.”‎

He said that just as the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution (Ayatollah Sayyed Ali ‎Khamenei) considers the method and tradition of the late Imam Khomeyni, he also considers ‎supporting the expert decision of the three levels of government to support public opinion ‎as a necessary issue, and for that reason, the Supreme Leader expressed his support for the ‎decision of the three levels of government.”‎
‎ ‎
Ayatollah Sa’idi emphasized that according to Islamic and national law, the decisive positions ‎of the Supreme Leader are the final decision in all cases and added, “Experience has ‎demonstrated that following the commandments of the Supreme Leader are in the best ‎interest of the administration of the country and the people.”‎
‎ ‎

He praised the sincere and revolutionary actions of the people in support of the country’s ‎security and stated, “The massive conspiracy to launch turmoil, riots, create a security war ‎and spread it, the destruction of public and private property was foiled and the security and ‎law enforcement forces and the timely presence of the people and the Basij forces ‎neutralized the conspiracy.”‎

Ayatollah Sa’idi said, “Just as it’s obvious, the enemies have intensified their comprehensive ‎economic war against the Iranian people. The strategy of achieving victory over the enemies ‎lies in the realization of the strategy of protecting national production and entrepreneurship. ‎Although, this strategy is important to circumvent the sanctions, it also has a tactical ‎aspect.”‎

His Eminence said that we must strengthen our internal policies so that even if the sanctions ‎are lifted, we won’t be harmed by moving forward and relying on internal policies and added, ‎‎“There are many capacities within the country, and if we can use them, threats and sanctions ‎will be turned into opportunities.”‎

IRGC Commander: We thwart US, UK plots within 48 hours

Deputy Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) Ali Fadavi stated that Iran could halt the recent US and British-led riots within 48 hours.

He added, "For 40 years, the US has been trying to undermine the Islamic Revolution and has failed in doing that. The United States has expressed its support of the recent unrest, but they themselves have seen a major failure in just 48 hours. Our message is the same as it has been 40 years ago, the only difference is that we have become stronger and we will keep our power increasing every day."

Fadavi also addressed French officials and said, "You have been facing eleven months of protest rallies in France and no country is supporting these protesters. So why are you defending the chaos in Iran? You were not able to stop the demonstrations of your people who were demanding their's rights, but we could stop the unrest within 48 hours in which the US, Britain, Germany, France and Saudi Arabia were involved. These countries themselves claim to have been involved in the riots. Some of the neighboring countries have also shown evil which is against the good neighborliness and Muslim traditions."

He went on to say "If the cruelties and wickedness of our enemies exceed our limits, we will respond at the highest possible level. Under the current circumstances, we will surely respond to the enemy. Deputy Commander of IRGC noted that we have captured all the puppets and mercenaries who explicitly admit that they are working for the US and the MKO terrorist organization and the country's judicial system will punish them severely.

Omani, Hungarian envoys meet with Zarif in Tehran

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammed Javad Zarif held separate meetings with the ambassadors of Oman and Hungary in Tehran on Sunday.

In one of the meetings, Zarif held talks with Oman’s outgoing Ambassador to Iran Saud bin Ahmad Khalid al-Barwani.

Al Barwani, who has come to the end of his term in office, was appointed as Oman’s envoy to Iran in January 2014.

In the other meeting, Hungary’s new Ambassador to Tehran Zoltan Varga-Haszonits submitted a copy of his credentials to the Iranian top diplomat.

In a meeting with Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary Laszlo Kover in 2016, Zarif had called for efforts to boost cooperation between Tehran and Budapest by facilitating banking interaction and easing visa restrictions for the people of the two countries.

In May 2018, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani congratulated Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban on his reelection, hoping for serious and substantial steps for closer ties between Tehran and Budapest.

“I hope that in light of their common political will, Iran and Hungary can take serious, fundamental steps to deepen and cement bilateral relations and promote international peace and security,” Rouhani said in a message.

Iran believes in strong neighborhood policy: Zarif

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammed Javad Zarif said the Islamic Republic believes in the policy of having strong neighbors and is taking steps for its implementation.

Iran is on the belief that states can pursue and materialize their goals living along with mighty neighbors, he told an audience to mark the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Day in Tehran on Tuesday.

Established in 1985 by Iran, Pakistan, and Turkey, ECO is a regional forum that expanded to a 10-member body in 1992 by joining of Afghanistan and former Soviet republics of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.

Iran is interested to extend the relations and cooperation that it has with the ECO member countries to the Persian Gulf littoral states, Zarif said.

Iran’s Navy unveils new achievements

The Iranian Navy unveiled three new military products and projects, including a naval VTOL drone.

Ahlul Bayt News Agency (ABNA): The Iranian Navy unveiled three new military products and projects, including a naval VTOL drone.

In a ceremony on Saturday morning, Navy Commander Rear Admiral Khanzadi unveiled the three homegrown achievements at an exhibition in Tehran.

One of the products was a vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) naval drone, dubbed Pelican-2.

Equipped with four motors for vertical movement and a powerful propeller, the drone can take off from the cruising warships for patrol and reconnaissance missions.

The Iranian drone can even land and float on water in an emergency.

The Navy has employed Pelican-2 on naval fleets in international waters.

Another product unveiled at the exhibition was a homegrown Inertial Navigation System (INS) used for detection and navigation of submarines below the surface, where the conventional GPS system is not applicable.

The Iranian system, developed under the Soren project, has been manufactured with a special technology available to only a few countries.

The Navy also put on display a project on a subsurface-to-surface missile system for submarines.

The Jask-2 system includes a combination of missiles, torpedoes, fire-control and communication gear.

In a recent interview with Tasnim, Rear Admiral Khanzadi had announced that the 4th generation of the Iranian Fateh-class submarine would be equipped with much more advanced technologies than the previous models.

Iranian military experts and technicians have in recent years made great headways in manufacturing a broad range of indigenous equipment, making the armed forces self-sufficient in the arms sphere.

In a meeting with Navy commanders in November 2018, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei praised as “great and fabulous” the advances that Iranian military forces, the Navy in particular, have made since the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979, saying the Navy’s success in bringing into service homegrown vessels such as the Sahand destroyer or Fateh and Qadir submarines heralds more progress day after day.

US has admitted Iran missile tests not prohibited: Zarif

https://en.abna24.com/news//us-has-admitted-Iran-missile-tests-not-prohibited-zarif_991706.html

Foreign Minister Mohammed Javad Zarif has referred to a statement issued by Washington to refute allegations made European signatories of the 2015 nuclear deal claiming Iran's missile activities have violated the deal.

"Brian Hook (US Special Representative for Iran) has given our E3 JCPOA partners a timely reminder, openly admitting that missile testing is NOT prohibited in Security Council Resolution 2231," the foreign minister said in a tweet on Friday.

Zarif quoted a statement made by Hook during a State Department briefing on Thursday which said, "One of the deficiencies of the Iran nuclear deal is that it ended the prohibition on Iran's ballistic missile testing."

Zarif's Friday remarks came in response to a letter authored by the European signatories of the deal, comprised of France, Germany and Britain, which circulated on Wednesday.

The letter, addressing UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, accused Tehran of possessing “nuclear-capable ballistic missiles”.

The letter claimed that Iran's latest missile activities were “inconsistent” with UN Security Council Resolution 2231 that endorsed the accord in 2015.

Tehran’s Friday Prayers Leader:

Iran to continue resisting against US by increasing scientific output

Tehran’s provincial Friday Prayers Leader Hojjatoleslam Seyed Mohammed Hassan Aboutorabifard blasted the US for continuing to re-impose its unilateral sanctions against Iran, and said that the Iranian people will keep on resisting the sanctions re-imposed by Washington against their country.

Addressing a large and fervent congregation of the people in Tehran on Friday, Ayatollah Aboutorabifard said, “Today, standing against America means moving towards producing knowledge and science which will lead to establishing a powerful and prosperous Iran with the highest possible per-capita income and the Iranians will continue to do so.”

The senior Iranian cleric, meantime, lauded Iran for keeping its trade balance despite the US unilateral sanctions.

“Iran’s oil export in the first seven months of this year (March 21 – October 22) stood at some $30 billion while the country has imported some $22 billion and this trade balance is an honor for the country,” he added.

In relevant remarks on Wednesday, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani underlined that given the US stubbornness in opposition to the removal of the sanctions against Iran, his country has no way but resistance against Washington.

"We are in sanctions conditions and it is not our fault and these conditions have been created with the provocation of the Zionists and the reactionary regimes in the region," Rouhani said in Tehran.

"In such conditions, we do not have any way but resistance against those that have imposed the sanctions. Meantime, we have not closed the doors to talks," he added.

Pres. Rouhani: Saudi Arabia, Israel key factors in influencing US to exit JCPOA, mounting pressures

Speaking on Wednesday at the 26th Insurance and Development Conference, which is held under the theme of "Increasing the Influence Rate of Insurance; Challenges and Solutions", President Hassan Rouhani said that all the 11th and 12th Governments have been trying to do was to reduce the risk to the least.

"The reality is that the nature of insurance is actually spreading security in the society," the president said, adding that the insurance industry looks more economic and financial.

Dr. Rouhani pointed out, "My advisors and accompanying delegation on the New York visit convinced me that it would be better to take the US President's phone call for negotiations to proceed, and that was something I doubted, but when all the advisors agreed unanimously, I agreed".

Iran condemns US’ meddling in China’s affairs

“With a disgraceful record in genocide of indigenous people, black slavery and massacres of civilians, as well as the killing of Muslims in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Libya, Palestine and Yemen, and the pardoning of war criminals, America is the least qualified to comment on ethnicity, races and Muslims,” Mousavi said on Friday.

The remark came as the US House of Representatives approved a bill that requires President Trump to toughen response to Xinjiang, where Washington claims China is holding re-education camps for Muslims.

“Repeating such blatant violations against the principles of the international law is just stressing the fact that interfering in internal affairs of other countries has become a tenet of America’s anti-normative foreign policy,” added Mousavi.

https://en.abna24.com/news//Iran-condemns-us’-meddling-in-china’s-affairs_991704.html

"At the last minute I was in New York, the President of the United States contacted me at the hotel and I answered his phone call and it took about 20 minutes, which was a very powerful locomotive for the negotiation train."

The President noted, "In that telephone conversation, we outlined the framework of the negotiations and the US President raised three issues for negotiation and I said that we were not ready for negotiation on those issues, but if the first issue, which was the nuclear issue, would work well, then the second and third issues can be on the agenda".

Dr. Rouhani said, "This led to the Geneva Interim Agreement being reached in less than 100 days, which temporarily lifted sanctions in many areas, including receiving the money the was frozen in American banks by $700 million a month".

The president said that one of the achievements of the Geneva Agreement was that Iran's right to enrichment was recognised, saying, "This was the most significant achievement in the negotiations in less than 100 days. No one, even government advisors, could believe that we could have the 6 major world powers admit Iran has the right to enrichment in its own country, contrary to what was stated in the UN resolutions".

FM Zarif reacts to E3's letter to UNSG on Iran missile program

https://en.abna24.com/news//fm-zarif-reacts-to-e3s-letter-to-unsg-on-Iran-missile-program_991623.html

"Latest E3 letter to UNSG on missiles is a desperate falsehood to cover up their miserable incompetence in fulfilling bare minimum of their own #JCPOA obligations," FM Zarif wrote in a tweet on Thursday.

His remarks were in reaction to a letter penned by France, Germany and the United Kingdom to the United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, in which the three European signatories to the Iran nuclear deal (JCPOA) made the allegation that Iran’s ballistic missile activity is “inconsistent” with the call in a council resolution endorsing the 2015 nuclear deal with Iran.

"If E3 want a modicum of global credibility, they can begin by exerting sovereignty rather than bowing to US bullying," Zarif stressed.

Ayatollah Javadi Amoli:

Flourishing local productions makes sanctions weapon null

https://en.abna24.com/news//flourishing-local-productions-makes-sanctions-weapon-null_991619.html

“Universities will be Islamic just if the Islamic knowledge be taught there and if not considering the residue of the knowledge. How man can see the Divine role in the world and his life but doesn’t give attention to the Creator,” Ayatollah Javadi Amoli added, “If the universities become Islamic, then (people like) Salman and Abu Dhar (Companions of the Prophet Muhammad) would come out.”

“Rain (alone) cannot purify the country but the blood of the martyrs has cleaned the country from the arrogance, Trump and other unclean (Najis) things”, Ayatollah Javadi Amoli said in his Quranic exegesis class.

He said, “A country in which devotees has sacrificed their blood, will be purified, pure country will bear pure fruit of the independence, greatness, the flourishing of the local productions and self-sufficiency,” and added, “If Great Iran and the honorable Iranian actualize the flourishing of the local productions, we will no more afraid of sanctions and it will insure the country.”

Zarif confirms freedom of US-jailed Iranian professor

Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammed Javad Zarif expressed pleasure with the freedom of Masoud Soleimani, a renowned Iranian scientist who had been detained by the FBI in the last 13 months, and also confirmed release of Xiyue Wang, a graduate student in history at Princeton, who was in detention in Iran on espionage charges.

"Glad that Professor Massoud Soleimani and Mr... Xiyue Wang will be joining their families shortly," Zarif wrote on his twitter page on Saturday.

He also appreciated "all engaged, particularly the Swiss government" for helping the freedom of D. Soleimani.

Soleimani arrived in the US on October, 22, 2018 with a visa issued upon an invitation by the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota to lead a research program on the treatment of stroke patients.

He was, however, arrested by the FBI upon arrival at the Chicago airport. His visa was canceled and he was transferred to a jail in Atlanta, Georgia.

His family had several times voiced worries about Soleimani’s “poor” mental and physical condition in jail, saying he is suffering from chronic irritable bowel syndrome, has lost 15 kilograms and suffers from severe vision loss.

Soleimani’s family condemned the US government's hostile act.

BJay Pak, the US attorney in Atlanta, secured Soleimani’s indictment on June 12, 2018, just a month after President Donald Trump withdrew the US from the Iran nuclear deal, and Soleimani had been fully unaware of such an indictment when he flew to the US.

Franco and Page Pate, another Atlanta lawyer, said that they had been puzzled by the federal government’s decision to prosecute a renowned Iranian professor and two of his former students - Mahboobe Ghaedi and Maryam Jazayeri - for purported trade sanction violations over eight vials of human growth hormone.

Franco said that Soleimani’s treatment by federal authorities, the revocation of his visa and the decision to detain him without bond doesn’t square with Soleimani’s international reputation as a scholar, professor, and doctor widely known in the field of stem cell research and regenerative medicine. Soleimani has no criminal history anywhere in the world, he added.

The hormone, which is a form of synthetic protein, was seized from Jazayeri in 2016 by customs authorities in Atlanta when she was heading to Iran to give it to professor Soleimani for research purposes. Jazayeri had received the hormone from Ghaedi.

The seizure occurred at a time when Washington was still a signatory to the 2015 nuclear deal, officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), and anti-Iran sanctions had not been re-imposed yet.

The growth hormone is not banned in the US or Iran and was being used “exclusively for medical research”, which is still considered largely exempt from US sanctions, Franco said.

However, Ghaedi and Jazayeri faced similar federal charges for attempting to supply Soleimani with the growth hormone.

Ghaedi is a permanent American resident and an assistant professor at Yale University's School of Medicine. She is free on a $250,000 bond. Jazayeri is a naturalized US citizen and Kentucky resident and has conducted medical research at the University of Louisville. She is currently free on a $200,000 bond.

Supporters of sedition have no place in parliament

Ayatollah Sa’idi said, “The Guardian Council must be determined to prevent the ‎penetration of those who have moral and political problems and provide the means to ‎prevent the influence and infiltration of the enemies.”‎

Ahlul Bayt News Agency (ABNA):

In his Friday prayer sermon delivered to a large and fervent crowd of believers ‎‎‎at ‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎Qom’s Qods Prayer Hall, Ayatollah Sayyed Mohammed Sa’idi referred to the sedition ‎over the increased price of gasoline in Iran and said, “In the recent sedition, one of the ‎cities where the enemies conspiracy didn’t have an effect was Qom. The people of Qom ‎shine over history and must act and know that they are subject to the salutations of ‎the Infallible Imams to the people of Qom.”‎

The custodian of the Holy Shrine of Lady Fatimah al-Ma’sumah referred to Student Day ‎and noted, “This day is reminiscent of the sacred shouting and anger of the students ‎against the tyrannical and criminal United States. On December 7, 1953, the Shah’s ‎police executed three students [of the University of Tehran] to welcome their masters ‎‎[resumption of Iran’s relations with the UK and US President Richard Nixon’s visit to ‎Iran]. From this date, Iranian students have honoured December 7th and protest against ‎the oppression of the arrogant powers by shouting ‘Down with America.’”‎
‎ ‎
He pointed to the forthcoming February 21, 2020 legislative election and said, “The ‎Islamic Consultative Assembly must, in the remaining period, act in accordance with the ‎general electoral policy as expressed by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution ‎‎[Ayatollah Khamenei] in order to act in a comprehensive manner that provides the ‎means to prevent financial, moral and political corruption and the influence of the ‎enemies.” ‎

Ahlul Bayt News Agency (ABNA): Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammed Javad Zarif in a message referred to Israeli regime's recent nuke test, saying E3, US never complained about only nuclear arsenal in West Asia.

"Israel today tested a nuke-missile, aimed at Iran," Zarif tweeted on Friday.

"E3 & US never complain about the only nuclear arsenal in West Asia—armed with missiles actually DESIGNED to be capable of carrying nukes—but has fits of apoplexy over our conventional & defensive ones," he added.

Earlier, Iran's Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the UN Majid Takht Ravanchi said that letter of the three European members of the UN Security Council is another attempt made for the arbitrary interpretation of paragraph 3 of annex B to Security Council resolution 2231 (2015).

The Islamic Republic of Iran’s Navy has unveiled a new homegrown unmanned aerial vehicle to boost its combat power.

Ahlul Bayt News Agency (ABNA): The Islamic Republic of Iran’s Navy has unveiled a new homegrown unmanned aerial vehicle to boost its combat power.

Dubbed Simorgh, the combat drone was displayed in a ceremony, attended by Navy Commander Rear Admiral Hossein Khanzadi, in the southeastern coastal city of Konarak, Sistan and Baluchestan province, on Saturday.

With a range of 1,500 kilometers and a service ceiling of 25,000 feet, It has a flight endurance of 24 hours.

According to Rear Admiral Khanzadi, Simorgh can be used for combat, reconnaissance, and tactical operations, and electronic warfare.

The drone can carry a payload of bombs and rockets or smart missiles and is designed to hit both fixed and mobile targets.

The unmanned aerial vehicle is the naval version of Shahed-129, a powerful combat drone that was mass-produced in 2013. Washington number one enemy of Iranian people: Released Professor

Washington number one enemy of Iranian people: Released Professor

Prominent stem cell Professor Masoud Soleimani, who was imprisoned by the US government for 14 months, said that Washington is the number one enemy of the Iranian people, recounting that his American jailers had told him they did not care if his patients died while he was incarcerated.

Ahlul Bayt News Agency (ABNA):

Upon arrival at Tehran’s Mehrabad Airport, Iranian stem cell scientist Dr.. Masoud Soleimani said that his jail wardens had told other prisoners that he was a terrorist with a mission to carry out bombings in the United States.

Recounting his ordeal at the hands of American jailers, Soleimani described the United States as "the number one enemy" of Iran and the Iranians.

Soleimani — who works in stem cell research, hematology and regenerative medicine — was on a sabbatical when he was arrested by US authorities upon arrival in Chicago a year ago and transferred to a prison in Atlanta, Georgia.

"US authorities in the jail had told prisoners that I was a terrorist who wanted to carry out bombings in America," he told reporters upon arrival at Tehran's Mehrabad airport on Saturday night.

"They had made such false statements so that other prisoners would not come close to me and keep away from me.

"After a while, the inmates would tell me, 'you do not look like a terrorist and a bomber, what these guys are saying and I would tell them I don't know what they are saying'," he said.

"The Americans were so mean and low that when I told them that many patients were waiting for me to have their things done, they said, 'let them die, it doesn't matter'," he said on Saturday.

"This shows their main problem is with the Iranian people. They are upset and angry about the scientific progress and the right path that Iran has taken, and we have a duty to continue this path so that the country can grow and prosper."

Soleimani suffered from several health problems which aggravated during his incarceration.

According to American political analyst Scott Bennett, the Trump administration held the Iranian stem cell scientist hostage to gain leverage over the Islamic Republic through "diplomatic extortion."

“I truly don’t understand it,” Franco said of the government’s decision to prosecute, adding that it appeared to be “some type of policy argument”. Pate, who represents Jazayeri, said his client was “completely confused by all this.”

Motions to dismiss the charges are pending in federal court in Atlanta in front of US District Judge Eleanor Ross. However, Federal prosecutors in Atlanta have not yet responded to the motions.

Hearing this case had been adjourned for at least three times since October and his family and Tarbiat Modares University had paid over $70,000 to his lawyers to prove his innocence, but all to no avail, said TMU’s Vice-chancellor for Research Affairs Yaghoub Fathollahi.

Fathollahi added that Soleimani is a distinguished professor who has been ranked among the top 1% scientists in the world.

Pres. Rouhani: Enemies to become disappointed

Stressing that the figures and estimates show that this year’s economic growth, except for oil, has been positive, the President said, "In the past 9 months and despite the intensification of sanctions and pressures, the current budgets have been paid in time and 34 trillion tomans of development budget has also been paid so far”.

While presenting year 1399 budget bill to the Islamic Consultative Assembly on Sunday, President Hassan Rouhani said, “The enemies’ plots to affect Iran’s economy have failed and the government has taken considerable steps based on people and the parliament’s wish and demands in macroeconomics”.

Dr. Rouhani added, "I thank God for being able to present next year’s budget to the parliament in the deadline set for it, as it has been the case for the previous two years”.

Stating that last year’s budget was presented to the parliament under the most severe sanctions, he said, "We promised you that the government will do its utmost to make the budget law realised, along with the steadfastness of the great Iranian people and other pillars of the system”.

The President continued, "In the 9 months of year 1398, current budgets have been paid on time and 34 trillion tomans of development budget has been paid so far, and major projects have either been inaugurated or will be inaugurated by the end of the year”.

Dr. Rouhani said, "While our enemies, Americans and Zionists, thought that they could make the nation and the government incapable by their severe sanctions, they have become disappointed with the implementation of the budget law to date and this disappointment will continue in the future”.

The President reiterated, "Based on what the Iranian people and MPs have wished, the government has been able to take significant steps in the macroeconomics over the past nine months, despite the adverse budget and economic conditions”.

Referring to this year’s heavy rainfalls, he continued, "Although these rainfalls have created problems in 21 provinces across the country, the harvest statistics in Khuzestan Province are very promising”.

Dr. Rouhani added, "The country had 57% self-sufficiency in food energy at the beginning of the 11th government, and today it is above 73% to 74% and by the end of next year it is predicted that self-sufficiency in food energy will reach 82%. This means a great transformation in the agriculture sector”.

The President noted, "Before the 11th government took office, the entire modern irrigation system in the country covered 1.3 million hectares and today, 2.3 thousand hectares of modern irrigation system has been implemented and will double with what will be implemented next year and by the end of the government”.

Dr. Rouhani added, "I have good news for our dear representatives and nation. Our economic relations with neighbouring and non-neighbouring countries have improved in recent months and we hope to improve our relations with these countries".

"Our temporary entry into the Eurasian Economic Union means that our goods and products will be exported with better figures without tariffs or with very low tariffs," the president said.

He continued, "We are going to implement the same plan soon with Turkey, the Republic of Azerbaijan and other countries”.

Dr. Rouhani added, "Regarding our plans for investment, out of Russia’s $5 billion investment in Iran, over $2 billion has already been finalised and the rest will be operational in 2020”.
