Seyed Mohammad Marandi, a key political analyst and a professor at Tehran University, believes Iran will be in a better position if Trump wins the U.S. election.

“An internationally isolated US under Trump will have little chance of gaining any serious accomplishment against Iran. But if Biden wins, he will act better in forging consensus against Iran,” Marandi asserts.

Despite his bellicose rhetoric, Trump has indicated that he doesn’t want a war with Iran, and he has employed military intervention far less than his recent predecessors. However, there is no guarantee he will follow this same strategy in his second term, worrying many.

Neocons flock to Biden

Eric Edelman, a former diplomat and adviser to Dick Cheney, said Trump’s peace plan has fostered an open political divide in the U.S. over Israel, because the plan endangers “the demographic future of Israel and its ability to continue to be both a Jewish and a democratic state.” (Demographic future means that Israel might have a majority of Palestinians, an argument we associate in the U.S. with segregationists.)

Eliot Cohen, a Bush aide and academic, echoed the fear that Israel is being politicized. “A lot of Jews made a big mistake by taking something I was in favor of, moving the embassy to Jerusalem and obsessing about that,” he said. But there was huge political risk in that: if the United States is internally divided, at war with itself, and “Israel has become a partisan issue, which it should never ever be…. That’s not in Israel’s longterm security interest.”

Biden will reverse that trend by appointing strong supporters of Israel, Cohen said.

Imam Khamenei: Iran will maintain unfaltering stance whoever takes helm of US

Quote

The Leader said, “Some may think that a government can benefit from submitting to the demands of the United States, but the governments that surrendered to American bullying have suffered the most and their troubles have only multiplied.”

“Iran’s policy towards the US is calculated and clear and does not change with the movement of individuals,” he stressed.

The leader noted that the arrival or departure of political figures might have implications for others, but that Iranians “will be unconcerned and the Islamic Republic’s policy will be unaffected.”

Ayatollah Khamenei further said the main reason for America's enmity with the Islamic establishment is Iran’s opposition to oppressive policies and its refusal to recognize hegemony.

"Disregarding who will come to power in America, the current situation attests to a severe civil, political and moral decline in the US -- something that has been acknowledged by thinkers in the United States.”

Ayatollah Khamenei also referred to Iranian students’ takeover of the former American embassy in Tehran on November 4, 1979, commending it as a “perfectly rational” move.

“The 13th day of [the Iranian calendar month of] Aban was the manifestation of the Iranian nation’s fight against the arrogance… The US regime is an arrogant one, and a composition of many evils and mischiefs. It is both interfering [in affairs] and seeking monopoly. Therefore, putting up a fight against this phenomenon is tantamount to rationality.”

US violated ICJ’s ruling to lift sanctions against Iran: Envoy to UN

Quote

“These sanctions have directly and indirectly targeted Iranian companies and the Iranian people and affected Iran's ability to trade freely,” the Iranian diplomat said.

Iran’s lawsuit argued that the sanctions violate the terms of the 1955 Treaty of Amity between Iran and the US, which the latter canceled following the October ruling.

“The United States is bound by the court, and any non-compliance is subject to international responsibility,” Takht-Ravanchi added. “The court has asked the litigants to refrain from actions that would aggravate or expand the dispute. It is clear that US wrongdoing gives rise to its international responsibility.”

Back in October 2018, the ICJ ordered the United States to halt the unilateral sanctions it had re-imposed on "humanitarian" supplies to Iran.

Iran’s Army Chief: US biggest threat to world nations, freedom

Quote

Speaking to reporters at the conclusion of an aerial exercise in central Iran on Tuesday, Army Commander Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi said the war game, codenamed Fadayeeyan Harim Velayat 9, has achieved all of its purposes.

The message of the war game carried out by the Air Force is that the Iranian military forces are prepared to safeguard the Islamic Republic’s tenets and the Iranian nation against any threat at any level and with any magnitude, the top commander said.

Describing the “arrogant US regime” as “the biggest threat” to the entire world and to the nations, freedom and righteousness, the Army commander said, “If the American leaders intend to make a mistake and miscalculation, resistance against them will take place with maximum power.”

Iran's Shamkhani: End of Trump no surprise

Quote

“The end of Trump is not a surprise, it is the destined ruling of history. Most American people have sealed rejection of the totally failed record of a thinking which assumed bullying as the solution to problems,” Shamkhani wrote on his twitter page.

He asked if the elected US administration enjoys enough realization to write under Trump’s framed picture at the White House “a lesson for the future generations” instead of the 45th president.

“People faced economic terrorism in the past three years and showed competent resistance and patience. Our country’s decision is clear and our nation will continue its patience and resistance until the other side bows to the law and rules,” President Rouhani said, addressing a meeting of the national coronavirus campaign headquarters in Tehran.

“We hope that conditions alter in a way that those who have imposed sanctions will come to realize that they have moved along a wrong path, and that they will not attain their goals at all as they should take a lesson from this 3-year experience for the future US government to bow to the laws and rules and return to all its undertakings and (the Iranian) people would witness and feel the prize of their patience and resistance,” he added.

American research fellow: US maximum pressure campaign against Iran total failure

Quote

Herzog made the comments in an interview with the Tehran Times just as it has been announced that Joe Biden had secured enough electoral votes to be the winner of the U.S. presidential elections.

The research fellow also anticipates that Iran would not go to "accept Biden's word if it is possible for future U.S. presidents to exit the accord again with the stroke of a pen."

"The United States must consider how to reassure Iran, whether legally or otherwise, that the JCPOA will remain in force in the future," Herzog added.

The following is the entire text of the interview conducted and published by the Tehran Times:

“Q: In 2019, the United States withdrew from a landmark arms control treaty with Russia, claiming it undermines its national security interests. Do you think the move implies a shift in U.S. strategy or just can be considered an impulsive decision by President Trump?

A: It's true, in August last year, the Trump administration withdrew from the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty of 1987....

On the other hand, Biden would attempt to return to these agreements and restore predictability and normalcy to U.S. foreign policy. On a practical level, this means that the U.S. back to international deals is much more likely if Biden defeats Trump in the election.

Iran's First VP: Trump era over due to resistance against policy of maximum pressure

Quote

Addressing a meeting of members of the Association of Ethnic Unions of Islamic Iran, he referred to US presidential elections, saying that a change of US president does not mean a change in the country's macro-policies towards the Iranian people, but Trump's enmity with the Iranian people was unprecedented, which was formed under the influence of Zionists, Saudis and extremist groups in the US.

The US enmity with Iran was to such an extent that they started an economic war against the Iranian people and their goal was the collapse of the Islamic Republic of Iran or the country's economy, Jahangiri said.

Role of US in region ‘diminishing’: Iranian official

Quote

Expediency Council (EC) Secretary Mohsen Rezaei said that role of the United States is diminishing in the region.

“Zionist regime knows that it will face security gap after diminishing role of the United States in the region and for this purpose, it is seeking to mend its relations with regional countries.”

Speaking in a local ceremony on Fri., he said, “Zionist regime knows that in future, after the weakening of the US role in region, it will face a security vacuum and for this reason, it (Israel) seeks to establish relations with countries of the region.”

Iran’s economy and security strictly hinged on the security of the region, he said, adding, “If Iran fails to be present outside borders, it will face problems inside the country.

Analysis: US and Biological Weapons Strategy

Quote

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Recently, a Kazakh scientist has published his lengthy investigation on the US use of biological activities as “strategic weapons.”

He, recently died because of coronavirus, in part of his investigation revealed that the Pentagon is running “over thousand” labs across the world to develop biological weapons. Here are parts of this report:

- The Pentagon’s biological labs are registered nowhere. They are set up unofficially and are used to develop biological weapons, tests, and “gene banks.”

Here are the US activities surrounding the use of biological weapons:

- In 1942, in Gruinard Island of Scotland, tests were conducted for anthrax against Germany, making the island deserted there.

- In 1981, the US used Dengue fever against Cuba, leaving over 344,000 Cubans ill.

- During the Cold War, specific species of wheat fungus, also called Ergot, were developed to destroy grain farms and food. They also led to an illness of the livestock on massive scales.

- The Korean army documents demonstrate that the Americans used biological agents during the Korean War in the early 1950s.

- In unrecorded documents, the US conducted close to 10 biological weapons tests in Japan’s Okinawa Island. Similar tests were also made in Taiwan.

- The Pentagon, as part of its secret program, also dubbed “Project 112”, conducted biological tests in Egypt, Liberia, South Korea, and Japan. The results were put under study in labs in Puerto Rico and Hawaii.

- New and highly dangerous type of bird flu, also codenamed H5M1, is generated in lab conditions by US biologists at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and can be the key endangerment to the very human existence.

- In India, an epidemic killed about 100. An epidemic in northern Kenya affected 407,000 people and killed 119.

- In 2008, Uganda experienced an outbreak of a new type of Ebola virus. In the same year, plague broke out in Babil, Iraq.

- And in 2009, new cases of plague in Zimbabwe were over 60,000, of them over 3,000 died.

George Washington University professor: Biden will return to JCPOA but won’t lift sanctions swiftly

Quote

However, Professor Hossein Askari says Biden will not remove sanctions on Iran all of a sudden and he will try to build on the sanctions that Donald Trump imposed on Iran.

“He will not remove the sanctions imposed by Trump in return for Iran destroying any excess enriched fuel that they have accumulated and addressing any other infraction after Trump’s withdrawal from the treaty,” Askari tells the Tehran Times.

Q: Do you think Iran should seek justice for the assassination of General Soleimani?

A: Absolutely. Iran should launch a complaint with the International Court of Justice. And even with the International Criminal Court, which the U.S. does not recognize. Also, Iran should have list of all those involved in any way with this assassination and if they ever travel outside the U.S. Iran should attempt to have them arrested and extradited or brought in front of the International Criminal Court.

Q: Do you think Iran should be compensated for the economic hardship caused by the U.S. pullout from the international nuclear agreement and imposing sanctions?

A: Yes. The U.S. broke an international agreement to which it was a signatory. Iran had not deviated from the agreement. As a result, Iran has suffered human and economic losses. The International Court of Justice is the appropriate venue if the U.S. will not address Iran’s complaint.

Q: As Joe Biden is poised to become the president of the United States, do you think he will move quickly to restore the nuclear agreement (JCPOA)?

A: I think Biden will want to get the agreement back and on track again for a number of reasons. This agreement was the singular success and legacy of the Obama era. Biden would bring a smile on the face of his former boss. It would also strengthen relations with U.S. allies in Europe who feel they have been betrayed by the United States. And it would show that the U.S. will honor its agreements and restore some confidence in the international system that has been shattered by Trump.

Q: Let’s look at the possible but new U.S. conditions one by one. Is the U.S. justified to make such demands? Let’s begin with Iran’s defensive missile program.

Q: How about Iran’s association with certain elements in the region that the U.S. has labelled as hostile?

Q: Lastly, what about a demand that Iran should pull out its advisors from anywhere in the region?

Assassination of General Soleimani accelerated US expulsion: Iranian official

Pres. Rouhani: New US administration to return to regulations itself

Quote

He stated that the new US administration will return to the regulations itself, he continued, "With future conditions, we will move from the atmosphere of threat created by this rebel government (Trump Administration) to the atmosphere of opportunity".

Dr Rouhani continued, "Since the current US administration entered the economic war with Iran in 2018, we have been under economic siege and faced with economic terrorism. In recent years, we have been facing a bullying government".

Calling on some people inside the country to be careful to use correct terms when criticising the government, he said, "The US Administration is a criminal and terrorist one, but some inside the country purify the US for free by undermining the government and ignoring the facts to prepare ground for themselves in the 1400 elections"

General Qa’ani: US not qualified for talks

Quote

“All wise people working for the enemies have understood and some of them say, although some do not, that the time for showing the same behavior they had with the Islamic Republic on the first days of the Revolution has ended. Today all hues and cries of enemies are aimed at preventing (controlling) our speed (of progress),” General Qa’ani said.

He added that all enemies’ hostilities and deployment of forces in the region are aimed at preventing Iran’s development of its missile and regional power, and stressed, “The time when they attacked us and we defended has ended.”

Quote

His comments came after US media reports claimed that Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araqchi has tried to contact President-elect Joe Biden’s advisers.

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh rejected the report as fake and a good example of yellow journalism.

"The report that was released few days ago is completely fake," he said on Friday.

Iran has repeatedly reiterated that the election of Trump's Democratic rival Joe Biden as the US President is not very important to Iran.

Rex 84, short for Readiness Exercise 1984, was a classified scenario and drill developed by the United States federal government to detain large numbers of United States citizens deemed to be "national security threats", in the event that the president declared a National Emergency. ...

Possible reasons for such a roundup were reported to be widespread opposition to a U.S. military invasion abroad, such as if the United States were to directly invade Central America.[1][2][3] To combat what the government perceived as "subversive activities", the plan also authorized the military to direct ordered movements of civilian populations at state and regional levels, according to Professor Diana Reynolds.[4]

Existence of a master military contingency plans (of which REX-84 was a part), "Garden Plot" and a similar earlier exercise, "Lantern Spike", were originally revealed by journalist Ron Ridenhour, who summarized his findings in an article in CounterSpy.[5]

Recall that Trump spoke of the military seizing airports and distributing the “vaccines” to minorities.

The exceptionalist “it can’t happen here” mythology is fading away. Turns out the US follows the same laws of history and cause and effect like everyone else.

After the botched coup yesterday, organized by Trump, in which people died and police were injured, and then the losses in Georgia Senate race for the cadidates he backed, I think his 'friends' are now turning on him, as happens in the end with all Taghuti dictators and he is finished. He was a joke and a clown in the past and he will now return to his position of a joke and a clown in the future.  Maybe his future will include prison, unless he flees the country which I think he will do.

Just by staying alive, coherent, and viable as a country and a government thru this phase of history, Iran has won the battle. The war is still ongoing.

What u need to realise is what’s coming next is worse than him, it’s not like he was the sole problem here he was just a reflection of something far worse , so don’t celebrate yet

Surely a coup has an objective and a means with which to achieve it.

I don't see the objective in having a ragtag group of idiots invade the Capitol wave some flags and smash the place up a bit. How does that turn the election, how does it keep Trump in power?

More to the point, how could it possibly have led to a change in government?

There was no objective, there were no means. It was an aimless, opportunistic trespass facilitated by inadequate and unprepared security.

So you have to get inside Trumps brain to understand it. I know thats a scary thing to try and do. Inside Trumps head there is only 1 important thing. Trump. He has a singular focus and that focus is staying in power so that he can continue to enjoy the priveledges of power and so he wont have to face accountability for his actions.

There is a rule in the United States that the votes for the new President have to be certified on Jan 6th. He probably thought that if he could postpone the certification for a few days it would create a constitutional crisis and this would give the Republicans who support him more room to object to Biden as the President and call for different things that would delay the inaguration of Biden

You can see in his reaction that it didnt bother him that people were killed because he wasnt killed and noone in his family was killed. The mob here created were only tools for him to acheive his objective which was to confuse, delay, and raise doubts regarding his succesor. He miscalculated how Republicans and his other allies would react to the deaths and destruction of the Captial Buildings.
