Ghalibaf responds to Trump's talks offer with a verse from holy Quran

Zarif to Trump: Iran, JCPOA parties never left table

US has no right under Resolution 2231: Iran's envoys to UN

Following the release and repatriation of a US citizen, Michael White, from Iran, and the release of Iranian national Dr. Majid Taheri, Trump wrote on his Twitter account on Friday, “Thank you Iran. Don’t wait until after the US election to make the Big deal. I’m going to win. You’ll make a better deal now!”

Reacting to the comment, Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf tweeted a verse of the Holy Quran (Sura Muhammad [47:35]), the translation of which reads, “So do not weaken and call for peace while you are superior; and Allah is with you and will never deprive you of [the reward of] your deeds.”

"We achieved humanitarian swap *despite* your subordinates' efforts, @realDonaldTrump," Zarif wrote on his Twitter account on Friday.

"And we had a deal when you entered office. Iran & other JCPOA participants never left the table, he added.

"Your advisors—most fired by now—made a dumb bet."

"Up to you to decide *when* you want to fix it," Zarif noted.

"Pleased that Dr. Majid Taheri and Mr. White will soon be joining their families," Zarif earlier wrote on his Twitter account.

"Prof. Sirous Asgari was happily reunited with his family on Weds. This can happen for all prisoners,” he added.

US President Donald Trump wrote on his Twitter account: "So great to have Michael home. Just arrived. Very exciting. Thank you to Iran. Don’t wait until after U.S. Election to make the Big deal. I’m going to win. You’ll make a better deal now!"

Mousavi said that after coronavirus spread, according to the order of the head of the Judiciary Branch Ayatollah Ebrahim Raeesi, White was given furlough, but as long as he had no one in Iran, he was handed over to the US interests section in Iran, i.e. the Embassy of Switzerland.

"@USAmbUN believes US retains right to initiate snapback of sanctions under UNSCR 2231. WRONG: US cannot be a JCPOA “Participant”, since @realDonaldTrump ceased US participation," he wrote on his Twitter account on Saturday.

"The US—which is in violation of the resolution—has no right to initiate anything under 2231", Takht Ravanchi reiterated.

Russia’s UN Ambassador Vassily Nebenzia said last month that Moscow will oppose any US attempts to extend the arms embargo, which expires on October 18, and reimposes UN sanctions on Iran.

Craft told a press briefing that she also shared the draft with the United Kingdom, France, Germany and Estonia and hopes to give the draft to the rest of the 15-member Security Council “pretty soon".

Foreign Ministry Spokesman commemorates victims of Iran parliament terror attack

US, Israeli services behind 2017 terrorist attack on Iranian Parliament: Ghalibaf

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman commemorated the martyrdom anniversary of those killed in a US-backed terrorist attack on the Iranian Parliament three years ago, saying that the botched assault aimed to retaliate the successes of the resistance front in the region.

“3yrs ago today, US-backed ISIS (Daesh) carried out the botched terror attack on Flag of Iran Parliament to retaliate the successes of 'Resistance Front' under MG Soleimani’s leadership & sacrifice. 2yrs later, the MG as counterterrorism champion was cowardly assassinated by terrorist America. RIP!,” Seyed Abbas Mousavi tweeted on Sunday.

On June 7, 2017, terrorists launched simultaneous attacks on Iran’s parliament building and on the mausoleum of late founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini in Tehran.

Daesh claimed responsibility for the attacks, which killed 17 people and wounded more than 40.

All five gunmen directly involved in the attacks were killed by security forces.

Today US, that would change any regimes in Central America by its military interferences, is facing a new reality: US’s era is coming to an end as Iran is in its neighborhood.

US will kneel before Iranian people soon: FM Spokesman

Pres. Rouhani: ‘Knee on throat’ US’ main policy

“A government whose policy is based on ‘pressure on the neck’ – whether its own people or the people of the world – should be happy with economic terrorism and pressure on ordinary people,” Mousavi said.

“You saw that not the neck of the Iranian nation but your own knee was crushed. You will soon kneel before the Iranian people too.”

Brian Hook, the US State Department's special representative for Iran, said in a special interview with Al Arabia on Thursday that he was satisfied with the outcomes of US sanctions against Iran.

He claimed that US policy against Iran has weakened the country.

Dr Rouhani added, "The second point that I want to emphasise is that the people are aware that our country has faced unprecedented severe sanctions by the White House rulers since the beginning of year 1397 (early 2018), and unfortunately they forced other countries to cooperate in some cases".

Stating that coronavirus was added to these problems, he said, "We are facing more difficult conditions. Everyone should pay attention to the situation in which we are managing the country”.

Iran-Russia ties serving international stability, security: Zarif

Iran, Russia hold common responsibility, interests on regional security: Pres. Rouhani

“In light of the resolve and determination of the two countries’ leaders and senior officials, there is fortunately a growing trend in the bilateral interaction for the fulfillment of the common interests and contribution to the regional and international stability and security, and I hope that it would continue and deepen,” the top Iranian diplomat said in the message.

Zarif also wished the Russian government and nation prosperity and welfare.

In a congratulatory message on the occasion of Russia’s National Day, Rouhani said, "I would like to offer my sincerest congratulations to Your Excellency and the people of that country on the Russian Federation’s National Day."

He further stressed that “Iran and the Russian Federation hold common responsibilities and interests over the regional security," adding, "Therefore, it is imperative to continue the ongoing talks and negotiations between the Tehran and Moscow on different levels."

Iran's Foreign Ministry rejects UN Secretariat's allegations

The Secretariat, based on an unusual interpretation of the UN Security Council Resolution 2231, has so far refrained from reporting on numerous violations by the United States and European States with respect to the UN Security Council Resolution 2231 and the JCPOA (Annex A to the Resolution), inter alia, the unlawful withdrawal of the United States from the JCPOA, which is a grave violation of Resolution 2231 and its subsequent illegal actions towards UN Security Council Resolution 2231 by re-imposition of sanctions.

While the Secretariat has treated with utmost tolerance and leniency towards these violations so far, it is now surprisingly engaged with an issue in which it has no authority to point out highly technical and legal findings, and its so-called technical report is in no way in line with the practical arrangements of the United Nations Security Council Resolution 2231 to perform its functions.

Undoubtedly, such reports will not only fail to help bring peace and security to the region and implement the UN resolutions, but will also completely destroy the credibility and reputation of the United Nations.

The Islamic Republic of Iran strongly recommends that the UN Secretariat not move in the pre-planned US scenario to prevent the lifting of Iran's arms restrictions and not assist a violating State in this dangerous process by circulating such unlawful reports. The United States itself is the gravest violator of Security Council Resolution 2231, and no one can clear the name of that State from systematic violations of international rules.

Chairman of Iran’s Expediency Council:

Protests reveal US insincerity regarding human rights

“The Americans have for years lectured other countries on human rights … and now it has been revealed for the whole world that (the issue of) human rights for the US is nothing but a means (to achieve its objectives),” Ayatollah Amoli Larijani said at a session of the Expediency Council in Tehran on Wednesday.

He added that the US government’s mask has now fallen off and everyone, including the American people, has realized what criminals the US rulers are.

The senior cleric predicted that what happened to the former Soviet Union awaits the US due to the oppression and the crimes that Washington commits against innocent people.

Iran's President blasts US for pressuring IMF

The Americans are still trying to cause problems to this end, Rouhani said while expressing the hope that the IMF will not be influenced by the plots of the US.

He also voiced hope that the IMF would live up to its commitments regarding the countries worldwide.

The US has not cooperated with international organizations; he said, adding that the government has hatched plots regarding international organizations but to no avail.

Governor of the Central Bank of Iran Abdolnasser Hemmati had earlier said that Iran has requested a 5-billion-dollar loan from the International Monetary Fund in the CORONA campaign package of Rapid Financial Instrument.

Iran Army Chief highlights utility of drones in asymmetric warfare

In comments on the sidelines of a visit to a base of the Army Ground Force Drone Division on Sunday, Major General Mousavi said the pilotless aircraft are of strategic significance in asymmetric warfare, both in the military and economic spheres.

It is very important for drones to be capable and diversified enough to carry out various missions, the general said, adding that one of the strong points of the drone industry in the Iranian Army is that it is homegrown and totally independent of foreign countries.

He also praised the Drone Division personnel, saying their performance has heartened the Army commanders.

In April, Iran’s Army took delivery of a large number of combat and reconnaissance drones manufactured by domestic defense industries.

In August 2019, Director of Iran’s Aviation Industries Organization (AIO) Brigadier General Abdolkarim Banitarafi said Russia has offered to buy unmanned aircraft from Iran during the International Aviation and Space Show in Russia (MAKS 2019).

Iranian official:

Israel, Saudi Arabia's behavior root cause of regional insecurity

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Special Advisor to Iran's Parliament Speaker for International Affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian dismissed the UN allegations about the Iranian origin of missiles fired at Aramco installations, and further blamed Israel and Saudi Arabia for regional insecurities.

"The statement by the UN secretariat and claims about the Iranian origin of the fired missiles at Aramco oil company is politically-driven and are completely baseless," Amir Abdollahian wrote on his twitter page on Sunday.

"The root cause of insecurities in the region should be found in Tel Aviv and Riyadh's behavior," he added.

Amir Abdollahian underlined that Iran plays the most constructive role in the establishment of sustainable security in the region and the world.....

"Undoubtedly, the imposed reports will not only help bring peace and security to the region and implement UN resolutions, but will also completely destroy the credibility and reputation of the United Nations. Are the members of the Secretariat worried about the similar treatment of the members of the Secretariat of the International Criminal Court by the United States?" it asked....

Iran has several times dismissed the western states and Saudi Arabia's allegations on sending weapons to Yemen, saying that the Yemenis have progressed enough to produce them indigenously.

In a recent case, Iran in February dismissed allegations about supplying weapons to Yemen's Ansarallah resistance group, saying that "all that glitters is not gold".

"All that glitters is not gold and any similar weapon is not necessarily as an Iranian weapon," Foreign Ministry Spokesman Seyed Abbas Mousavi told reporters in a press conference in Tehran.

"Medicine and medical goods are sent to them (the Yemenis) with difficulty; then how could military equipment go through and sent to them?" he asked.

Mousavi said that the Yemeni nation has made astonishing progress in the military field and manufacturing weapons and military equipment after facing the Saudi-led aggression.

UN Secretariat’s [claim] in line with US plot: FM Spokesman

He highlighted that these reports have nothing to do with JCPOA, saying, "The basis of their claim is the claim of the Zionist regime and Netanyahu."

"This is the US policy to take UN and international institutions hostage to achieve its goals," he added, saying, "However, I advise the IAEA to be realistic in this regard. I recommend it to refer to the reliable documents and good cooperation of the Islamic Republic with the IAEA and not to issue a report based on the US and Zionist regime's allegations."

Iran, Russia, Turkey to hold online talks on Syria peace process

Mousavi noted that while it was scheduled to hold the trilateral meeting in Tehran, there has been a change of plan due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus.

“So, we will have an upcoming video-conference meeting between the guarantors of Astana peace process, the exact date of which will be set during Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif’s current visit to Turkey and Russia,” the spokesman added at his weekly press conference on Monday.

He noted that the Islamic Republic is ready to host the guarantors in Tehran as soon as the situation on the pandemic alleviates.

UN report blaming Iran for attacks on Saudi oil facilities lacks impartiality: Russia

"In line with established practice and in keeping with the existing procedures, Russia will present a detailed analysis of the aforementioned report by the secretary-general during the relevant discussion at the Security Council on June 30. What we surely won't argue with is, unfortunately, that the report can hardly be called balanced and calibrated," Zakharova said at a press briefing on Wednesday.

"We can also speak about a lack of impartiality and the absence of strong facts to support the accusations leveled at Iran," she said.

"Nobody has ever presented any convincing evidence of Iran's violations to the Security Council members," Zakharova said.

"Based on their personal observations, the self-appointed inspectors claimed for some reason that what they saw was roughly reminiscent of what Iran had once demonstrated at arms exhibitions," she said.

Iranian FM advises E3 not to be accessory for JCPOA enemies

"BoG should not allow JCPOA enemies to jeopardize Iran's supreme interests," Zarif wrote on his Twitter account on Thursday.

"E3 should not be an accessory, after failing own JCPOA duties," he added.

"We've nothing to hide. More inspections in Iran over last 5 yrs than in IAEA history," he noted.

"An agreeable solution is possible, but Res will ruin it," Zarif reiterated.

Earlier, speaking at a joint press conference with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov, Zarif said we will not let the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to become a tool for ending Iran nuclear deal known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

Iran will give a suitable response if the IAEA wants to take advantage of illogical ways, Zarif reiterated.

Top Iranian diplomat said it will be regretful for the UN Secretariat and the IAEA if they tend to move in line with killing the JCPOA.

Iran's Judiciary Chief: US people's wrath not to abate

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Iran's Judiciary Chief Ebrahim Rayeesi said that the protests in the US might subside a little due to the government and police's brutal behavior but the wrath of the American people of discrimination and racism will not soothe.

"Today, the rights of people are being trampled in the world and the cries of the US and European people against injustice will not be silenced and this wrath will enflame the hegemonic system and will remove them and the day for restoring justice is not far," Rayeesi said, addressing the judiciary officials in Tehran on Sunday

"Given the brutal behaviors of the police, the mayors, the Trump administration and the hegemonic system, this move may abate in certain areas but this wrath will never disappear because it is against injustice and against those who claim to defend the human rights and are (at the same time) the most severe violators of human rights," he added.

In relevant remarks earlier this month, Rayeesi blasted the US government for cruelties towards the colored people, saying that US President Donald Trump has resorted to force to suppress the protests.

"The US and European people pull down the statues of slavery to show that they want materialization of justice and end of oppression and discrimination, but the unwise US president is after suppressing them by resorting to force," Rayeesi said, addressing a meeting of the Judiciary officials in Tehran.

He said that the US and European people's wrath against cruelty and injustice will not soothe easily, adding that it cannot be suppressed by criminal police and security acts.

"We rest assured that this move will lead to annihilation of cruelty and the oppressors," Rayeesi said.

Iranian FM dismisses Pompeo’s claims on buying fighter aircrafts

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in a message dismissed the claims made by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on buying fighter aircrafts, saying he is so desperate to mislead the world.

“@SecPompeo is so desperate to mislead the world that he claims come October, Iran will purchase fighter aircraft,” Zarif wrote on his Twitter account on Tuesday night.

“And then send them off to the limits of their ONE-WAY ranges,” he added.

“Perhaps he could also say how they would fly back to Iran having exhausted their fuel,” he noted.

Earlier, Pompeo in a Twitter message claimed: “Arms Embargo on Iran expires in October, Iran will be able to buy new fighter aircraft like Russia’s SU-30 and China’s J-10.”

Delivery of Kowsar jets to Army Air Force proves failure of US sanctions: Defense Minister

Brigadier General Amir Hatami made the remarks at a ceremony on Thursday.

When Kowsar jets delivered to Iran Air Force, it voiced an important message across the world that all freedom-seeking nations will be independent and self-sufficient if they resist, General Hatami said.

Today, there are all technical capabilities available inside the country for construction of the air force infrastructure, the minister added.

In August 2018, Kowsar indigenous fighter jet was unveiled, and its mass production line was launched just three months later, General Hatami said appreciating the efforts made by the Iranian experts and engineers.

Iran will soon produce more modern air equipment indigenously, the minister noted.

Manufacturing Kowsar which is a short-range air support aircraft has put Iran among the few countries with the technology of designing and producing the 4th generation avionics and fire control systems.

The aircraft will be produced in both single- and two-seat versions.

Iran, Venezuela to remain steadfast against unlawful US sanctions: FM Spokesman

US desperate moves against Iranian individuals - like the one announced by @SecPompeo, aka the #SecretaryofHate – just signal the miserable failure of the so-called “max pressure,” Mousavi wrote in his Twitter account on Thursday.

“Despite US pressure, #Iran & #Venezuela remain steadfast in countering unlawful American sanctions,” he added.

Earlier, Pompeo said: “The US is sanctioning five Iranian captains who delivered gasoline and its components to Venezuela.”

Meanwhile, US Department of the Treasury announced: “These captains, who led five Iranian flagged tankers — CLAVEL, PETUNIA, FORTUNE, FOREST, and FAXON — delivered gasoline and gasoline components to Venezuela, and are now added to OFAC’s Specially Designated National and Blocked Persons List (SDN List).”

Iran not to forget US, Europe complicity in Saddam crimes: Foreign Ministry

"It's been 33yrs since chemical attack in Sardasht," Iranian Foreign Ministry wrote on its Twitter account.

"We did & will never forget the support & complicity of US/Europe in the horrible attack by Saddam," it added.

"We did & will never forget the UNSC silence on this heinous crime. We rebuild whatever they destroyed," Foreign Ministry noted.

In 1988, Iran presented the UN the full information on the chemical attacks committed by the Iraqi Baath regime since January 1981 till March 1988; a report with striking data: more than 56,700 people lost their lives in the attacks.

The former regime of Iraq, backed by some Western countries, particularly the US, attacked various parts of Iran by chemical weapons during the eight-year war (1980-1988) against Iran.

The regime of Saddam was provided with the chemical weapons by Western countries, mainly Germany, France, the UK and the US.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry:

US bans hampering import of medicine for chemical warfare victims

“Today, through its inhumane sanctions, the United States is preventing (export of) the medicine needed for chemical (warfare) victims; the drugs needed for other victims as well as the drugs needed for various patients,” the Ministry tweeted on Sunday.

In another tweet on Saturday, the Ministry said the Islamic Republic has not forgotten and will never forget the support and complicity of the US and Europe in the horrible chemical attack by Saddam in Sardasht some 33 years ago.

Located in the northwestern province of West Azarbaijan, Sardasht was the third city in the world after Japan’s Hiroshima and Nagasaki to become a target of weapons of mass destruction.

The attack on Sardasht left 650 civilians killed.

Iran to continue ties with Venezuela despite US bullying: FM Spokesman

“Iran and Venezuela hold longstanding relations; such ties are normal and official and are not against the interests of any country,” Foreign Ministry Spokesman Abbas Mousavi said at his weekly presser on Monday.

“The US and some other countries are against such amicable ties, but it is none of their concern,” he said, adding, “Tehran and Caracas are seeking to continue their cooperation on different levels.”

The spokesman noted that talks are underway to hold a joint session between Iranian and Venezuelan officials in line with the plans to broaden the mutual economic ties.

Iran's Zarif to address UNSC meeting on Resolution 2231

In a tweet on Monday night, Zarif took a swipe at the US for its efforts to strip Iran of the right to reap full benefits of the JCPOA despite remaining unilaterally committed to its obligations.

“The US isn't merely violating JCPOA and bullying others to do so, too. It also has dishonor of being first in UN history to punish law-abiding countries for NOT violating a Security Council resolution,” Zarif said.

“I will present Iran's case to the Council at about noon ET, Tuesday,” he added.

Earlier in the day, Foreign Ministry spokesman Abbas Mousavi said the United States has forfeited all rights to bring the JCPOA achievements into doubt, urging Washington and its European allies against trying to damage the agreement any further.

“The Americans, due to their destructive actions against the JCPOA and Resolution 2231, have lost the position to question the deal's achievements,” Mousavi told a press conference.

On Monday, US Special Representative for Iran Brian Hook also reiterated his call for extending the expiring United Nations weapons embargo on the Islamic Republic, claiming that lifting the arms embargo on the country will trigger an arms race in the Middle East region.

Speaking at a joint news conference with Saudi minister of state for foreign affairs Adel al-Jubeir in Riyadh, Hook said lifting the ban would "only embolden" Iran and destabilize the region.

"This is not an outcome that the UN Security Council can accept. The council's mandate is clear: to maintain international peace and security," Hook added.

Jubeir said, "Despite the embargo, Iran seeks to provide weapons to terrorist groups, so what will happen if the embargo is lifted? Iran will become more ferocious and aggressive.”

"We urge the international community to extend the embargo on selling arms to Iran and on Iran's ability to sell arms to the world," the Saudi foreign minister added.

The accusations come as the United States, the biggest arms exporter in the world, has been supporting a devastating Saudi-led war in Yemen, which the UN has described as the world's worst humanitarian crisis.

Europeans should account for chemical tragedy of Sardasht, Halabja: Official

"Prohibition of the production and stockpiling chemical of weapons in the world must have executive requirements," Brigadier General Jalali said on Sunday, addressing the National Conference on Chemical Defense held in Tehran.

"Today we still witness the use of chemical weapons against the people. For example, ISIS used chemical weapons against the Iraqi people, and everyone knows what countries created the terrorist group," he added.

He went on to say that the conventions prohibiting the production and accumulation of chemical weapons are not being implemented, and the United States and European countries are producing and stockpiling them, so an organization like the International Atomic Energy Agency must be set up in the chemical field to prevent this.

The official also criticized the performance of international institutions such as the fact-finding committees for chemical attacks because they do not disclose the behind-the-scenes production and sale of chemical weapons.

He is losing in polls. I would be surprised if he won in November.

8 hours ago, Diaz said:

But last year he lost against Hillary in polls right? But still he won in the end.

In some polls he did.

The article is titled "Here’s Why Joe Biden’s Lead In The Polls Is Stronger Than Hillary Clinton’s Was". Suggesting greater leads in areas that matter.

Indeed, even looking back on the last election, he lost the popular vote.

Here are some quotes from the article:

Biden’s lead outpaces those of both Clinton and former President Barack Obama; he’s ahead of Trump by 9 points in the RealClearPolitics average—double Clinton’s 4.5 point lead over Trump at this point in 2016 and larger than Obama’s 5.5 point lead over John McCain in July 2008 and 2.5 point lead over Mitt Romney in July 2012.

Trump also suffers from an incumbent’s burden, with 68% of Americans saying the country is on the wrong track comparing to just 24% who say it’s moving in the right direction, according to RealClearPolitics.

Four years of solidly right-wing governance has also evaporated Trump’s advantageous position of being viewed as a relative moderate; A Gallup poll in October 2016 showed 58% of voters viewed Clinton as liberal and 37% viewed her as conservative or moderate, while 47% viewed Trump as conservative and 41% viewed him as liberal or moderate; but in May, a Hill/HarrisX poll showed that 62% now view Trump as conservative and 38% view him as moderate or liberal, compared to 50% who said Biden is a liberal and 50% who said he’s a moderate or conservative.

Trump’s approval in the RealClearPolitics average is just 41.5%, compared to a 56% disapproval rating. FiveThirtyEight editor-in-chief Nate Silver noted in 2011 that, since the advent of election polling in 1940, no incumbent president with an approval rating lower than 48% has won their reelection bid, while every president with an approval rating higher than 49% has been reelected. That held true for Obama, who had an approval rating of 50% on the eve of the 2012 election. Trump has never held an approval rating higher than 47% at any point in his presidency.

But aside from the above, I just don't get the perception that Trump's presidency has been particularly smooth.

Aside from the endless drama, he was eventually impeached and has failed with his coronavirus response. He has all the leftists fired up and his actions are somewhat embarrassing for Republicans.

He was already on thin ice upon entry into the Whitehouse. He was met with countless lawsuits, he has ran an embarrassing campaign about building some silly wall that never really happened. He impersonated a mentally handicapped person, he dropped the ball on energy development partnerships with China, he's really looked bad on all sorts of things.

Yes, unemployment was exceptionally low, but President Obama actually year for year lowered unemployment far more than President Trump has, and likely influenced the lowered unemployment even into President Trump's presidency.

Trump tried rescuing the coal industry, which never made any sense from the start. Natural gas still forced their closures and layoffs (and reasonably so).

President Trump really just hasn't done anything but act like a goober the past 4 years and I think everyone sees that and is ready to move on now.

The country wanted to experiment with an out-of-the-box candidate. And to be honest, the experiment was a failure, so it's about time to move on.

If anything President Trump has simply awoken leftists who were otherwise sleeping during the last election, and he's too embarrassing to retain his original support from the right.

US presence in any region, 'source of insecurity': Iran's Ghalibaf

He made the remarks in Tehran on Monday in his meeting with the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammed Hamad Saad Alfheyd AL-Hajari and added, “whenever foreign countries, especially Americans, were present in the region, they increased insecurity”

He considered the level of political cooperation between Iran and Qatar “appropriate” and added, “undoubtedly, Saudi Arabia’s imposition of sanctions against Qatar is a wrong decision and this incorrect and unilateralistic behavior has been used by the United States against some countries.”

Ghalibaf emphasized the need for boosting economic cooperation between the two countries and added, “the two countries are expected to pay more attention to joint economic cooperation and opportunities.”

Elsewhere in his remarks, he pointed to the security of the region especially Persian Gulf and added, “undoubtedly, the security of the Persian Gulf region is realized with the collective cooperation of neighboring countries,”

Next US government must be accountable for damages caused to Iran: Zarif

"Anyone who will become the next US president should work for compensating the losses that has been imposed by the US on Iran," Zarif said addressing MED 2020 video conference.

It doesn't matter who wins the upcoming election in the US, what is important is that Washington should change its behavior toward Iran, he said.

Anyone taking office in the US must take steps to compensate for the harm they inflicted on Iran, Zarif reiterated.

Referring to the US economic terrorism against the Iranian nation, Zarif said those who claim that they had not imposed sanctions on Iran in the field of pharmaceuticals should be aware that Iran is unable to access international banking operations, and therefore it is not possible for it to buy medicine.

Imam Khamenei: U.S. admits failure of sanctions against Iran

In this meeting, Imam Khamenei highlighted the strength and defensive power of the country and reiterated that the enemies – headed by the malicious US government – have admitted the defeat of the sanctions against Iran.

Describing the economic problems of Iran as a “disease,” His Eminence stated, “Considering its strength and defensive power, the country certainly possesses the capability to overcome this disease. This is a fact that has been acknowledged by the enemies who have failed to achieve their goals against Iran despite having imposed the harshest sanctions and exerting all-out pressure.”

He stressed the necessity for unity in facing the massive front of the enemies, and added, “Today, the front of the enemy, whose most malicious, brazen element is the US government, has used all its political, economic and propagandist power to bring the strong Iranian nation to its knees.”

Elsewhere in his statements, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution stated that the participation of an acceptable number of people in the parliamentary elections is a sign of the people’s hopefulness and their expectation that the problems will be solved. Addressing the MPs, he said, “You should appreciate the value of these circumstances.”

On US navy ship blaze;

General Qa’ani: Tough days await America, Israel

Addressing a meeting of senior resistance commanders, Brigadier General Esmail Qa’ani, commander of the Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), urged the Americans “not to waste their time looking for a culprit or leveling accusations against others” over what happened to the navy ship off San Diego.

“This is a fire they (Americans) have lit themselves,” he said.

He was reacting to the fire that broke out at Bonhomme Richard, an amphibious assault ship and light aircraft carrier, as it was anchored at the US Naval base in San Diego on Sunday.

“This incident is a response to your crimes, which has come about at the hands of your own elements,” Qa’ani said. “God uses your own hands to punish you.”

What is unfolding in the US today, especially the warship incident “is the [direct] result of the US administration’s [own] action, behavior, and atrocities,” the general again noted.

“They have been afflicted with divine wrath and retribution because they tried to skew the divine word and resorted to oppression,” he added.

“You are still experiencing your halcyon days. You have very tough days and occurrences ahead of you,” he noted.

The blaze was accompanied by at least one large explosion. The US Navy said the ship had been docked for scheduled maintenance between deployments.

Shamkhani advises US to admit defeat against Iran

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani reacted to claims made by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, saying admitting defeat against Iran is better than unfounded and foolish bragging.

“Look, we've also fundamentally changed the way America treats the Islamic Republic of Iran," Pompeo earlier said.

"So we flipped what the previous administration was doing. We ditched the deal and implemented a brand new Iran policy," he added.

West concerned over Iran's development under sanctions: Envoy to IAEA

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Iran’s ambassador to IAEA, Kazem Gharibabadi stated that main concerns of western countries of the realization of Iran-China cooperation is Iran's progress and development during the sanctions.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran is under the most severe, cruel and illegal sanctions imposed by the US. Trump has resorted to the so-called policy of maximum pressure against Iran in order to achieve his goals”, Gahribabadi wrote on his Instagram page in reaction to the recent rumors on Iran-china 25-year cooperation roadmap.

Qom Friday Prayer Leader:

Three levels of government should work with jihadi spirit to solve people’s problems

Referring to the games of the Western media regarding the Iran-China 25-Year Agreement, ‎Ayatollah Arafi said, “We saw how much sedition the Westerners and their mercenaries had ‎regarding the Iran-China Agreement. According to the law, the agreement must be approved ‎by the parliament [Islamic Consultative Assembly] and this process will take place but the ‎agreement, which was from the position of the Iranian nation and outside the domination of ‎the West, has ended for the enemies and they are trying to address this issue in a different ‎way through media games.”‎

His Eminence stressed, “This agreement can reduce the impact of the enemies’ oppressive ‎sanctions and break all the issues which are linked to the West. The Iranian people are ‎certain that the officials, the parliament and the Guardian Council will be careful in concluding ‎this agreement.”‎

Iran, Iraq will jointly sue US for assassinating Gen. Soleimani

In a statement on Monday, Iraq’s Supreme Judicial Council said the country regards the US assassination of General Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis on its soil as a criminal act.

The Council said it has coordinated its legal procedure with the Iranian Judiciary and the two countries will file a joint lawsuit against the US.

According to the statement, the investigation took place according to the Iraqi Code of Criminal Procedure starting with inspecting the scene and meeting with some of the plaintiffs, including the legal representative of the Iranian embassy.

“The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Secretariat of the Council of Ministers had been informed of other details regarding the accident, and that the investigation procedures since the time of the accident continue in accordance with the Iraqi law,” the statement added.

Imam Khamenei: We definitely strike back at U.S. in response to assassination of our General

Imam Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, met this Tuesday afternoon with Mustafa al-Kadhimi, the Prime Minister of Iraq. Speaking in this meeting, His Eminence described Iran-Iraq relations as being truly brotherly due to the existence of many similarities in history, religion, culture and traditions between the two countries. He stressed, “What is of great importance to the Islamic Republic in its bilateral relations with Iraq are the interests, security, dignity, and regional authority of Iraq in addition to the improvement of circumstances in that country.”

The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution stressed that Iran has never wanted and never will want to interfere in the internal affairs of Iraq, saying, “Iran wishes to see an Iraq which is dignified and independent with its territorial integrity and internal unity and cohesion protected.”

Imam Khamenei added, “Iran is definitely opposed to anything that weakens the Iraqi government. Of course, the Americans’ outlook concerning Iraq is the exact opposite of ours due to the fact that the US is an enemy, in the true sense of the word. That is why it does not wish to see an independent, strong Iraq that enjoys a government formed on the basis of the people’s votes.”

His Eminence added, “The Americans cause trouble and create some hurdles, but the Iraqi government should continue its path with strength and without heeding these interferences. It should also protect the Iraqi people who are a source of support for it.”

Imam Khamenei described the Religious Authority and person of Ayatollah Sistani as being a great blessing for Iraq and stated, “Hashd al-Shabi is another great blessing in Iraq, which should be safeguarded.”
