Do you guys recycle for free?

Nope. Someone has to finance the process.

Use cloth reusable shopping bags . . .

Make sure the reusable bags are washable. Those nylon bags that are sturdy but . . .

l saw a program, somewhere yesterday (the 3rd of Feb) where a company in Bangladesh is trying to promote its jute bags for these purposes. With very little success. Reusable and biodegradable.

Other ideas to reduce plastic use:

  • If you can buy in bulk, bring your own container instead of the plastic bags provided by the seller.
  • Swap out reusable produce bags for the plastic bags at the grocery.
  • When ordering take-out, ask for no plastic ware to be included.
  • Choose shampoo and soap bars instead of using ones sold in plastic bottles.
  • Choose reusable coffee mugs (or other dishes) when dining in a cafe or restaurant instead of disposable ones.
