Shīʾah Paintings

Some people are not a fan of Orientalism art, but I like how they capture a certain atmosphere. Bearing in mind it was largely how Europeans imagined the exotic, mysterious East, some without having been there.

I'm just shocked by the imagination of the painter

My guess is this reflected tortures of 14 th to 16th century and no what mukhtar actually did

Somewhat, yes. But, many of the scenes depicted are true. It was of the “habits” of governors at that time, that if they had slain a rebel, they’d behead him (if he hadn’t been beheaded already..) and place his severed head in a basin, under their throne. Or crucify, and have their enemies guillotined.

In two occasions, he besieged the houses of two of the enemies of God, he told his soldiers to strike (and shower) them with arrows and stones, they did that and they fell. One of them had “some life” in him, they burnt him.

In another occasion, he ordered for spears (or lances) to be brought, and for the criminal to be struck with them, until he befalls.

In a third occasion, his first knight, ordered for three of the criminals’ heads to be severed, after he had killed them in his duels.

Mixed Persian grill, saffron rice, lots of bread and meze.

Love joojeh kebab.

Saffron ice cream for dessert

You’re missing out on the Iraqi cuisine! But, I don’t think it’d be that great in London, to be fair.
