Salam brother, always try to relate to the marja’ (Grand Ayatollah) that you follow on fiqh (jurisprudence) issues. Majority of majari’ (Grand Ayatollahs) ruled tattooing permissible (although some makrooh), as long as they do not include haram (forbidden) and insulting themes. As per obligatory precaution, it’s also better to abstain from tattooing religious themes on yourself, such as portraits of Imams, Quranic verses etc. There shouldn’t be any problems with the tribal patterns, as long as the tattoos themselves do not carry any hidden meaning contradictory to the Islamic teachings, for example tribal tattoos with the intention to “protect” from “magic, evil spirits” and such are obviously haram (forbidden).

You’re more than welcome. May I ask why? It is wajib (religiously obligatory) to follow a marja’ on fiqh for a muqalid.

I get that you are part Native and all, but tribal tats have become synonymous with douchebags, especially sleeves.

I know but I still like them I haven't made a firm decision on a design maybe ill choose something else or nothing at all

I don't know enough to make a decision I'm new, do you have any suggestions as to who I should follow and why?

Clothing depends on the situation. You could wear traditional native clothes at home, but not at school or at work unless they allow it. If you are proud of your native heritage, why not have art work on the wall that you can admire? A tattoo is so permanent, and as you get older you might regret that you did that.

Grand Ayatollah Sistani & Imam Khameni are more popular & knowledgeable & their sites are multilingual beside them Ayatollah Makarim shirazi has a multilnigual site but he has lesser followers outside of Iran than them.
