Wa alikom salam !

The same answer goes for the question : What was before the "Big Bang" ? There was no before the beginning of Time itself because there was no space. Time is a calculation of a the duration to make the distance between a point A and a point B. So, no time = no space and no space = no time.

These are very very interesting questions !

There are other Hadith (I don’t remember the reference) that imply that there were numerous eras before our one, for whom their judgement days have already occurred for each of them.

Once ours’ era is ‘done with’ there may come other eras or whatever Allah wills shall happen.

The only constants in this whole saga are our Prophet and his Ahlulbayt (عليه السلام) per another saying of Imam Sadiq (عليه السلام).

I recently came across an Ayat in Qur'an which points to this in a very precise way, but I’m afraid to post it here because I haven’t found a reasonable tafseer for it yet.
