I think it is quite obvious that Shiachat is very silent these days. I had a long absence due to personal commitments. This said I was quite shocked (so to speak) to find out that Shiachat is not what it has been before. I do not know the exact reason but I think it might be due to people finding posts repetitive, boring and not exciting. The 2013-era is indeed dead to quote Nietzsche.

I mean some initiatives can be made to make the place more engaging. I won't mention my personal intentions, which I think have been well established. However, if an admin wants an elaboration (note: only an admin), they can contact me on PM).

And these are my last words: Walhamdulillahi rabil alameen, wa salalahü ala Tâha wa Ahle Taha.

Assalam Alikum

Sc is not dead, people are on winter break and have commitments towards family, community, and enjoying the time off to do more important things.

Sister @starlight Assalam Alikum Are you currently visiting Amir al mo2mneen?

That is a long winter break then sister because it has lasted for 1 year!

And in 2013 people used to say that about 2008.

Do you agree that it is actually quite silent?

It depends on whether or not you think that 'silent' is better or worse than the alternatives. It would be quite easy to increase the number of visitors and posters. We could just relax the guidelines on certain types of content and the behaviour of certain posters.

The above decisions depend on the extent to which we are willing to compromise on the Shia ethos of the site.

We've had situations where previously banned but popular members have been allowed back in and sure they do make the place more lively but reasonably quickly they remind us as to why they were banned in the first place.

That's because you're getting older, and the site doesn't grow up with you. As time goes on, the site provides less stimulation, as the repetition doesn't satisfy your evolving taste and intellect. The internet favors the young and wide eyed.

SC is defs dead why am I literally the top contributor for soo long lol. I really want someone to take over me, it's not like I'm even contributing tha much.

I think @Ali-F or @2Timeless need to become mods to bring more entertainment and fun. The current mods lack life (even tho they're great mashallah).

:salam:

Brother, you have cumulated in two years twice as much posts than I, did in twelve. How can you say you do not contribute that much ☺

Same with @Ali-F who was a top poster with like 10 topics opened at the same time in his great days.

No wonder you guys see SC as dead, when it may just be you who lose your passion for that Submit button.

You don't have to be a mod to "bring more entertainment and fun". You have the power already!

Ask not what SC can do for you.

Ask what you can do for SC.

We all like SC . . . and for a similar reason: about everyone has a commonality with nearly everyone else.

And, as Hajj2OO3 wrote, we have to have guidelines or SC will quickly degenerate.

0ne reason l like SC is it is an info space. As many remember, we started following what-would-be lS months to a year before big-media did. We also post news that many of us do not get locally.

l had a PM correspondence with a member months ago about SC. That person said there wasn't anyone that shared a couple of his interests. We all can say the same, but that person made one good point: SC has had people from about everywhere except South America. Maybe someone can figure out how to recruit from there.

Winter break, mostly. In my case I have had many troubles with the company I work for due to the unbearable immaturity of my bosses, so couldn't dedicate time to SC when I stopped working.

In these days I'm dedicating my free time to reading books (religious as well as cultural content) and spend time with family alhamdulillah, but once things are in order again, I hope to share content here :P.

Yep, a lot of bosses act-out what they read or see but about never think-through.

Where I live we say the best ingredient is hunger. Right now any boss is super cool for me as long as he's not the worst person in the world lol.
