Saudi journalist and commentator Jamal Khashoggi told Middle East Eye that the executions were an "overdue process".

"We the Saudis for quite some time were wondering why the sentencing of al-Qaeda terrorists was taking so long," he said. "I noticed wire stories focused on the Nimr execution and not on the al-Qaeda [members]. Most of the prisoners, with the exception of Nimr and a couple of others, were al-Qaeda terrorists.

"Those criminals did act brutally against innocent civilians [and] they needed to be dealt with, so what happened is, I'm sure, very much welcomed by most Saudis," he added, referencing 2003 Riyadh compound bomb attacks which killed 39 people and were claimed by the group.

Khashoggi went on to say that the execution of Sheikh Nimr was justified.

"It is a clear message to anybody who wants to overthrow the government," he stated. "Nimr openly called for overthrow of the system and allegiance to Wilayit al-Faqih, [Iran's Supreme Leader].

"That amounts as treason by any democratic country," he continued. "[His execution] is not about his view as a Shia; it's about his call to overthrow the government and swear allegiance to a foreign leader."

Nothing really new in this one except, I didn't know, Turkish government revealed that they got the audio of murder thru a listening device they had planted inside the embassy, not thru an 'apple watch' Khashoggi was wearing as has been reported in various media outlets.

CIA said they played audio for Trump, with translation of course from Arabic. What is going on and who is behind it is clear as day, according to everyone, even other senior staff in the White House, except apparently Trump still doesn't want to 'figure it out' and keeps shedding doubt about what is actually going on.

This is the reality of democracy for the non-Iranian middle east. Clearly different American departments and likely western countries have preferred stooges, it's a matter of which one of these stakeholders wins out. The local population can go hang (literally).

Netanyahu has been very clear about his preference for MbS likely because MbS is more willing to accommodate Israel. Reading Khashoggi's articles it is clear he wanted more multilateral western involvement in the middle east - from a wider range of western countries - in support of Sunni chauvinism.

Republican senator Lindsey Graham said on NBC’s meet the press on Sunday morning: “If [MBS] is going to be the face and the voice of Saudi Arabia going forward, the kingdom will have a hard time on the world stage … when it comes to the crown prince, he’s irrational, he’s unhinged, and I think he’s done a lot of damage to the relationship between the United States and Saudi Arabia. And I have no intention of working with him ever again.”

I was concerned about Iran's sectarian expansionist policies, as its influence has extended across the entire region north of the Saudi borders, the "Shia crescent" that extends from Iran to the Mediterranean. Today, Iran can easily construct a highway extending from Tehran to Beirut across Iraq, Syria and Lebanon. This arc of influence is a very real threat to Saudi Arabia.

Washington Post November 22 2017

That's Khashoggi's assessment, the only problem is that the foundations for the highway were laid by the U.S. and opposed by Iran:

Quote

"The (US) propaganda campaign about an attack on Iraq is flagrant arrogance," the official IRNA news agency quoted the Iranian supreme leader as saying.

"The Islamic world must take an appropriate position on this issue... Given the extreme sensitivity of the Persian Gulf, with its major oil wells and gas fields, any incident in this region will be extremely prejudicial for whoever provokes it."

Unlike the Saudi position

But diplomats said that, despite its grave misgivings, the kingdom has decided that if the United States is determined to take military action it will stand by its ally in the name of friendship and self interest.

They added that the Saudi government believes a war will be shorter and more successful if the Americans can operate from Saudi facilities.

Saudi public opinion, inflamed by Israel's suppression of the Palestinian uprising, is totally against a US-led war against Iraq.

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/middleeast/iraq/1423984/US-troops-pouring-into-Saudi-Arabia.html

And indeed there was support from elsewhere for the invasion, from the very people who are now accusing Iran:

Quote

The war in Iraq was conceived by 25 neoconservative intellectuals, most of them Jewish, who are pushing President Bush to change the course of history. Two of them, journalists William Kristol and Charles Krauthammer, say it's possible. But another journalist, Thomas Friedman (not part of the group), is skeptical

According to the Ahlul Bayt News Agency, the content and details of the 11-minute audio file of the murder of Jamal Khashogi, a critic of Al Saud, were posted at the Saudi Consulate building in Istanbul.

The website of the Turkish News reported a press release announcing the details of the audio file: In the audio file available, the voice of four people from the  15 people in murder team at the time of his arrival at the Saudi Consulate.

According to the media, a member of the killing group immediately after his arrival takes his arm and Khashogi says : take of your hand, what do you do?

According to Turkish news sources, the seven minutes of this audio file also include a dispute between the Khashogiand four members of his murder team.

based on the audio in the audio file, these four carriers have been moved from the normal section to the Saudi Consulate staff, and there are voices of screams, fights and beatings.

apart from the Khashogi, there are also seven other Saudi male voices in the audio file as a result of technical analysis that one of these people is Maher Abdulaziz Murobar of the guards of Saudi monarch  bin Salman and the director of the crime team.

The Turkish news agency also wrote: The other voice in this audio file belongs to Saudi Arabian Consul General Mohammed al-Otiabi, who immediately screams on the Khashogi: the traitor, you will pay back.

According to the Turkish media, the blows that hit the body on this body do not differ from torture.

According to Turkish authorities, on the top floor of the Saudi consulate building in Istanbul, a secret building section, 19 calls have been made to Saudi Arabia, half of which have been addressed to Saud Al-Qahtani, a special advisor tobin Salman. The first phone call was made 13 minutes after Khashogi entered the building.

According to the media, Turkish authorities do not have any audio files about the incidents occurring in the confidential section of the consulate, but after 11 minutes of arrest and fights, one hour and 50 minutes of silence prevail, claiming that Al Saud's terrorist group during this period of time Have switched on the parsite to prevent any signal being heard or received.

According to Turkish news agency, the first voice heard after this period is the rumor that the three Saudi officials are coming down the stairs, one of which orders that the regular section of the consulate be locked and another one that It looks like an information and computer expert, copies and clears the images in the cameras.

According to the Turkish media, Turkish police investigations show that there are 19 cameras in the Saudi Consulate building, but all of these cameras were deactivated before the Khashogi entered the building.

The Turkish news agency also wrote that in the past weeks it was announced that  engineer Mustafa Al-Mudini, 57 years old, who was a killing crew member of the Khashogi, had wear his clothes after being killed, dressed and ridden a taxi to Sultan Square Ahmad went to the existing audio file and noted that after two hours of silence, he was preparing and wearing Khashogi clothes to leave the building.

According to the Turkish news agency, this person, wearing cloth clothes, says wearing the clothes of an individual who killed him 20 minutes ago is scary, Khashogi shoes are tight to my feet.

According to the media, the slaughter person then decides to wear his own sports shoes and he is ordered to go four streets first and then take a taxi and then get rid of clothes The clerk got rid of, he came to the consulate's residence and joined the rest of the team.

According to the media, cameras installed in the city of Istanbul show that Al-Mudini has completely executed orders.

The Turkish news agency also wrote in its report that after this, the rest of the team, along with suitcases, left the exit door open to the staff, and went to the Consulate with the Mercedes cars parked inside the building, while Saudi Consul General Mohammed Al-Otaabi also 46 minutes after the departure of the team, he went to his residence with his car and left for three days, leaving Turkey a few days later for his trip to Riyadh or, in other words, escapes from Turkey.

Although the audio file does not cover events in the confidential section of the consulate, Turkish authorities say the Khashogi was initially interrogated in this section, then unconscious and eventually split up.

According to Turkish news sources, Saudi officials first claimed that there was a Turkish accomplice and citizen in the incident, and the body was handed over to him, but later denied the claim, and Erdogan, who tried to clear the incident She has always raised the question: "Who is the domestic companion? Give us his name.

The spokesman for the Saudi Attorney General also raised the claim last week and spoke of domestic supporters and even said their designs would be delivered to Turkish authorities.

According to the Turk news, it seems that this issue will become a new subject in the kissing case in the coming days, as Saudi and UAE media writers have claimed that among these domestic collaborators, individuals from units Turkish security is also present.

According to Turkish news agencies, Turkish authorities have said that they have obtained information, but the lack of any information about the names or images of domestic supporters in Saudi Arabia is strange, indicating their dirty and dirty efforts to prevent the transfer. The issue is on the international level by Ankara.

According to the media, Saudi Arabia's Attorney General is in a dirty attempt rather than an incident, but Ankara is preparing itself for the attack.

The Turkish news agency also quoted the Turkish authorities not mentioning them, claiming that there are two separate audio files containing the chipmunks in the hands of the Attorney General's Office in Istanbul, and that part of the files that directly contain the smasher sound It is 11 minutes.

According to the Turkish news agency, this 11-minute section of the killing video was delivered to Jenna Haspel, head of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), who arrived in Turkey several weeks ago, and was sent to Washington.

It is worth mentioning that Jamal Khashogi, 60 years old, left the country after proposing  ibn Salman as the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia and went to the United States and was planning to marry a Turkish citizen in the days leading up to the murder.

Al Saud, a critical journalist, went to the Consulate building in Saudi Arabia on October 2 ( 10th of Mehr) to go through a marriage process with Turkish Turkish candidate Khadijeh Changiz, but disappeared after entering the Consulate.

His nominee, after making sure the clerk did not get out of the consulate's building, put police and high officials in Turkey during the event, but al-Saud officials denied knowledge of the condition of the slicer.

Al Saud's government, after 18 days of denial, confessed following international pressure to issue a statement indicating that he was murdered in the Saudi consulate building in Istanbul, announcing that, in connection with his murder case, 18 people, including 15 commanders of the assassination team of the Riyadh expedition Have been arrested.

All evidence suggests that 15 agents from Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince  bin Salman, who were sent to Istanbul on his behalf, are the agent of the killing and destruction of his body, and on this basis, the Turkish government has requested the extradition of these individuals for trial. Istanbul, a request that has been rejected by Saudi officials so far.

It worked quite well with Saddam.

Get him to do all the dirty work (like attack Iran) and when the time comes, get rid of him in the name of human rights and blah blah.

James Mattis said, "The is no smoking gun. I don't understand that language."

They won't listen to the tape.  John Bolton says, "What do you think I will learn from it?  How many of you in this room understand Arabic"  Trump won't listen to it either, calls it a "suffering tape."
